There’s nothing quite like spending Christmas with the Weavers!
They’re boisterous, they’re loud, and most of all, they’re full of surprises! But this time the Weavers are the ones surprised by what happens when Clear Creek residents Harrison Cooke and his family along with Irene and Wilfred Dunnigan come for a visit. Cinnamon rolls, budding romance and of course one cantankerous Mrs. Dunnigan make for a hilarious holiday romp in this sweet, clean and wholesome historical western! Enjoy the coming together of two of Kit Morgan’s most iconic families!
Kit Morgan, aka Geralyn Beauchamp, has been writing for fun all of her life. When writing as Geralyn Beauchamp, her books are epic, adventurous, romantic fantasy at its best. When writing as Kit Morgan they are whimsical, fun, inspirational sweet and clean stories that depict a strong sense of family and community. 'His Prairie Princess' is the first of the Prairie Brides books and the first in the series of a long line of stories about Clear Creek, Oregon. One of the wackiest little towns in the old west! Get to know the townsfolk in Clear Creek and come sit a spell!
NOTE: Hi folks, it has come to my attention there is an erotica book floating around out there written under the name Kit Morgan. IT IS NOT MY BOOK! I do not, and never will, write in that genre.
Kit Morgan can really write a hilarious and fun story, full of adventure and crazy happenings, but full of love.
Oh my, another awesome and funny, wonderful and so much adventure in this book. This is just two good to pass up. Teens falling in love, mothers, fathers, older sisters, all not so happy and not sure about what do. Harrison Cooke threatened his oldest son by telling him he was going to send him to his brother a Duke in England, to shovel out a moat around the estate. But if you have read about the the English brothers and especially Harrison you would understand. This is a great Christmas story back in the later 1800's that makes you wish for a huge family all on one farm, or at Grandma's house for the holidays. Some of you know what I'm talking about and some of you don't. Large families can be crazy yet a lot of love and fun and cooking, and great food. Who ever said "too many cooks in the kitchen, etc", was crazy. The more the merrier and the more good food you get and if you can bake great cinnamon rolls to cause one towns men to become looney then you get enough nonsense that you want to run for your life, but you get a celebrity chef you think in town. Fun, so much laughter I had to highlight many things, one Englishman saying the craziest things, and just plain fun, chalks up to a fantastic read.
Maybe both thousands, but a huge amount of people to sort and keep up with. At the beginning, Irene was the star with her cooking and taking over Hank's Cafe. After they reached the ranch, Max and Lucy came front and center. I feel a s e quel to their story coming up. It was a good story but I did struggle with the number of characters, not knowing the back stories. I would recommend reading the books that came before in order to know who's who and what's what.
I enjoyed reading about the families getting together and their ups and downs. Irene seemed to be so stern and grumpy but really was a soft-hearted woman. The town was not used to good food like Irene's beef stew and cinnamon rolls. when all the families gathered together for Christmas there were ups and downs. Max and Lucy falling for each other and Clinton getting kissed by a girl. There is no time like Christmas to come together, eat delicious food and learn new things from each other.
"I regret to say that I was unable to finish reading this book. I did manage to get to 43%, but the story had too many characters and too much happening, especially with the lead-up to Christmas myself. Sadly, I could not get hooked on the story, even though I have previously enjoyed reading Kit Morgan's books. I would have possibly been able to enjoy this story more if I had known that it was part of a large series and had read all the other books that led up to this one. That way, I would have been familiar with the characters."
There were so many characters I was confused. This could have been What I did for Christmas Vacation from several people. I had not read her other books. I thought this would be interesting. Irene's part is funny but reads as multiple people telling the story. Then she drops out and becomes a secondary character only referenced. Then it becomes Lucy and Max which seems like another story that is not flushed out completely. It is a humorous book, but felt disjointed. Maybe if you read the other books pertaining to these characters it would make more sense.
I enjoyed reading this captivating Christmas story that is fantastically written with charismatic and lovable characters. Dunnigans and Cookes (Harrison and Sadie with 3 of there kids) invade Nowhere to visit the Weavers. Filled with humorous antics and young love. Parts had me laughing outloud with tears. This story has a wonderful HEA with hope of more to come.
Irene Dunnigan from Clear Creek visits her friend Mary Weaver from Nowhere
Friends arrange a two week visit over Christmas. Irene shares some of her recipes, young romance blossoms, as the household swells to 20 people. They travel 2 days for a Christmas dance. What was it about Irene's cinnamon rolls? A story of a simpler time and place. Very very good. Brings those days into view for a few hours
I enjoyed every page. I laughed out loud on more than one scenario. Really entertaining. Love the characters, can't wait for the next story. I love these families. I've been with them from the beginning. I can't get enough of Clear Creek, Nowhere and the White family also. A great storyteller, one of the best. Kit Morgan knows how to weave a story, such great talent.
Love how all of your stories intertwine. I'm certain the story is lovely even to someone unfamiliar with all your other books, but I do enjoy the little subtle references. My recommendation is for folks to search by Author name and enjoy them all! And the time travel set too!
A Very Weaver Christmas has a very large cast of characters of all ages and from different countries. One learns about the difficulties families encountered in the past when traveling in the past. Travel with horses--no cars or trains, let alone planes-- took days instead of hours. Yet, human experiences are still much the same. Enjoy this story about family and friends.
A Very Weaver Christmas is a true joy to read. Filled with holiday excitement among friends, the Dunigans, Cookes and the Weaver clan spend a winter vacation in which cinnamon rolls and young love take center stage during a wonderful family Christmas.
Absolutely delightful! As always, Kit Morgan gives her fans another outstanding story! Catching up with generations of beloved characters. The dialogues between some characters had me laughing to hard I cried!
A really great series, I love the folks from Clear Creek and Nowhere. All the Cookes , Weavers and everyone else. Great stories come from them. Thank you Kit Morgan.
Stories involving the Weavers and Cooked are always fun. While visiting the Weavers. Max begins to fall in love with Lucy, and she begins to fall in love with hi.m. I don't want to give too much away. This is a must read.
Sweet young love. Hopefully their is a book about them when they are older and not teenage 15 & 16. I read this book after the Christmas with the Cookes and it is a stand alone but you should read it before. - Babs
The Weavers are a loud, wild bunch, but add in Irene, and the fun really begins! What a great fun book. A must read. Family, love, Christmas, and Kit Morgan, what could be better!
I really enjoyed reading this book! A Very Weaver Christmas, is a heartwarming romance. Wonderful characters & a great story make it the perfect holiday read. I loved everything about it from the first pages to the last. A Must Read Story!!
This is a fun, sweet story of a of a Christmas between the Weaver Clan, two of the Cook families and Mr and Mrs. Dunnigan. You will enjoy the tale of their days together.
Loved reading this story in connection to Kit’s other Christmas story. Reading about the Cookes and the Weavers is always a delight. They were both about the new generation of Cookes falling in love.
A wonderful story about family and friends. So many different characters in this story. Three different families got to know each other after traveling from their homes to visit the others. So glad I decided to read this.
Christmas is a good time to have family and friends around
When two large families get together, there's plenty of adventures and fun for all. Adding love to the mix can stir up a lot of trouble. Great book you'll enjoy.
The book needs a character tree/list. Having never read anything by Kit Morgan before, I had no idea who anyone was or how they were related. I'm sure that others who have read more books by this author would probably live it more. Unfortunately, as a separate book, this wasn't worth a read.
Weavers and Cookes and Irene Dunnigan. Fun and frolic and lots of adventures with family figures. Love and antics with children. Food and a dance. Wonderful story.
