“The Veil” came out just in time for Halloween and it was a perfect read for me personally. I couldn’t help but root for Marisol, who is sweet and vulnerable and strives for love and approval only to find betrayal instead. This is where a mysterious spirit appears and promises quite an unorthodox salvation from all the pain. The atmosphere was dark and brooding; all Marisol’s emotions rang true and made my heart ache for her but also hope for her to get revenge at last. Did she? You’ll have to read it to find out. I’m really hoping that a sequel is in the works - I’m not ready to say goodbye to Marisol yet! Fans of the dark fic genre - this one is perfect for you!

Great short! I will say this author sets the scene for the dark and creepy , get ready for that feeling of looking over your shoulder. . I loved Marisol and the position she has been put in. It’s the line between good and evil and sometimes it’s a difficult line to tow. I grew up with stories of the LA Llorona and even as an adult find her terrifying. This was a scary well crafted tale that had me on page one. Great read. Hoping to get more from this author. Click it!!
