The messy hood soap opera I didn’t know I wanted.
However, I have huge big ginormous issues with the bi/mga rep in this, i don’t love how it’s handled. To me it felt like it trivialized how difficult it is to come out as a queer person

Soooooooo, Love Effects…………lets talk about it. I liked this book but, I didn’t love it. I didn’t love it because, I didn’t like any of the characters. Every single one of these characters were dislikable. Well, everyone except Dazi. The male characters were disrespectful AF and the female characters were embarrassingly stupid. This series is centered around sisters who can barely tolerate each other. Serenity and Dazi don’t have a relationship at all and Faith is stuck in the middle. Serenity is jealous of Dazi for no real reason other than what she’s made up in her head. She’s been engaged to her unemployed lazy azz high school sweetheart for 10 years and she’s absolutely miserable. But, Serenity refuses to leave the relationship because she wants to be the first one to get married. Now, where the hell they do that at?!!! Faith is bisexual and deep in the closet. She’s in a secret relationship with Dazi’s best friend but, refuses to claim Jaz as her woman because she's worried about how her family will react. Faith is also secretly crushing on Kamari’s brother. Chiiiiiile, just a mess. These siblings are dealing with a lot in their personal lives but, they don’t confide in one another because they’re too busy keeping secrets from each other. There’s absolutely no sisterhood with these three. The family dynamics are messy and complicated, and none of it gets resolved. Honestly, Serenity’s delusional azz needs therapy. She needs to be sittin’ on somebody’s couch ASAP. That heffa has issues. There’s no romance in this book what so ever. No real chemistry among these couples. The only thing these characters cared about was having sex. The storyline was entertaining enough but, there was no real substance to it. Other than Dazi, these characters were the worst. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for some growth in book two but, I won’t get my hopes up.

Very Good Book
Really enjoyed reading this book. I like Kamari and Dazi together. That Cain is a trip get over it man. You are married. I hope Faith and Saint work out. Serenity needs to stop arguing with her sisters and just tell them the truth. Lamar is lazy don't work. That ending though. Can't wait for pt 2.

Where do I begin with this book, Kamari and Dazi are the cutest and couple and are really feeling each other. They did have a little hiccup, but it worked out. I'm rooting for them. Faith has a secret that shocked me, but when her and Saint hooked up, I was so excited for them together. I'm not sure what's going to happen, but I hope they stay together. Then its Serenity, she is not a happy person and its shows on how she acts. She's in a relationship that she is not happy in until she meets this new guy, who wants to make her happy. I love these sisters and cant wait to see what happens next. This book had some revealed secrets, some laughs and some great sex. The Miller sisters are lit!!!!

Couldn't Put It Down!
OMG, this is one of the best books I've read this year! There was so much going on in this book, reading all three sisters story at the same time, but it was riveting. Dazi and Kamari's most shocking moment came in the prequel so they were really just navigating the beginnings of a new relationship. And I enjoyed it, I really like Dazi. But Faith & Serenity's stories, Baybee, those 2 had my head spinning! Especially Faith! I didn't see her storyline coming, so I was just in shock. The last few pages with Serenity had me on the edge of my seat. Add to that, the dad's storyline and a few other characters on the periphery that I can tell can't wait to jump in the drama and I'm already looking forward to Book 2! This was an excellent read and I highly recommend it. 10 🌟Stars!

OMG I can’t wait for part 2! I love Kamari and Dazi! I’m glad that Cain and Faith finally got what they deserved. Dazi gonna end up pregnant messing with Kamari. Faith is something else. She better love her truth and let everybody know what it is. I don’t know how I feel about Harmony...she sound dumb letting her man beat on her. Serenity is something else!!! She’s rather be miserable and treat everybody like they’re beneath her than admit that she’s living a lie. Hopefully Marley gets her to open her eyes. She hates Dazi so much because she’s everything that Serenity wants to be!! Great book!!!!

Side effects of a good book
Love Effects (The Miller Sisters book 1) by Kat Cole is about three very different sisters and their love lives. Let me start off by saying this book is captivating, I could not stop turning the pages! I read it in one sitting because I could not got to bed with my questions unanswered. Jokes on me though because we ended with a cliffhanger, I’m already jonesing for Mutual Wishes (The Miller Sisters book 2). Okay,time to get into the nitty gritty. Let’s start with Serenity Miller, oh my how she drove me crazy, just because you’re unhappy doesn’t mean you have to make everyone else miserable! I love that Marley called Serenity out on her foolishness, his bluntness/gruffness is definitely alpha male material. Dazi Miller and Kamari Russel are a hot & sexy couple, to see their introduction read Sweet Perfection: A Miller Sisters Novelette. Lastly, we have Faith Miller she was an interesting, her secret is spicy but that Saint Russel is a persistent one! The chemistry that Faith & Saint have could not be denied and being neighbours definitely worked in Saints favour! Please check this out, it truly is a great read!

Hooked
I am hooked on this series and can’t wait for more. I am really interested in knowing what Serenity’s issue is with Dazi. I love the way Kamari and Dazi hooked up and the way they interact. Saint is also giving Kamari a fun for his $ in the book bae department. I am interested in seeing how far things will go with him and Faith. Serenity is nerve wracking but I a still pulling for her to drop that loser Lamar and give Marley a try. Harmony is weird to me right now but I’d like to see her connect with their dad and maybe see what’s up with her and Harlem. She may need her sisters help!

This was like love and hop hop on steroids. Man I really don’t know what to say. I’m still shooketh. Like what a story. I really have to marinate on what I just read because I’m still blown again. I know Serenity got on my nerves and I hope this Marley dude helps her get over her anger and jealousy towards her sister. This was a great addition to the first book. It got more messy, scandalous and super hot. It’s on big love triangle here everyone knows everyone. What a way to end an exciting story. Can’t wait for the next book.

At first, I couldn't stand how judgmental Serenity was towards Dezi. Now, I feel for her and want her happy and far away from her supposed fiance. Marley is just what she needs. I hope she and Dezi can work on their sisterhood because they might as well be strangers to one another. Faith surprised me in more ways than one. I cannot wait until Jaz finds out about her and Saint because that's when ish will hit the fan. I cannot wait for part 2!!

Hood drama and loving it
It’s like a black soap opera and I didn’t know I was into it until I read the novella. That hooked me but this first book will make me come back! We learn more about the sisters, their lives and all the drama that comes with 3 opinionated women.
The language is fun, their guys rough but sweet and the sister dynamics are challenging. I can’t wait for the next installment!

I liked it but I’m having a hard time not judging the book by the characters. Everyone is problematic in their on way so their really isn’t anyone I like. So I kinda feel like ugh I didn’t like this, but I did. It’s really captivating. I just don’t think I’m gonna like how any of those ends up. And I really want Serenity to get some therapy cause her whole outlook on life is jacked up!

Yesssss Kat!!!
Yesssss I’m so hooked on the Miller sisters and I am so ready for part 2 to drop. Love this story and everything about it. A few typos here and there but overall Kat Cole is doing a wonderful job. Okay... The drama was real
The sisters have so much going on. Serenity is so bitter; I cannot wait to see her better side. Faith is too cute, and Dazi wasn't as petty as she was in the first book. The brothers Kamari and Saint can be my bae any day. The writing needs a good edit to clean up some issues, but overall the story was a fun treat.

This was so good!!!! I love Dazi & Kamari's relationship, it's so natural & cute. I really hope Faith make up her mind who she want to be with before she hurts someone. Serenity.....I'm so over her ugh. Lamar is her karma for treating Dazi bad....so ready for part 2! Great job Kat!

This story deals with a few themes that can be difficult to write about well. While some of the language misses the mark, it reads true to conversations many have. The family dynamics are messy and complicated, and none of it is resolved in this book. It’s a read that is going to leave you ready to dive into the next one.
