Nate Kim has it all. A successful comic book career, a booming business, awesome friends and family. Except, his younger brother just got married, and his older brother just announced baby number three. And...well, Nate has never been close to any of that. Literally. Every time a girl finds out he’s never, uh, been intimate, she hightails it in the other direction. What’s a thirty-one-year-old virgin to do?Enter Birdie Oliver. She’s a razor-sharp tattoo artist with no ink of her own, who’s mastered the art of avoiding forever. She didn’t mean to make out with Nate Kim. And she DEFINITELY didn’t mean to like it so much. After all, she learned years ago that saying yes meant losing parts of herself. That’s SO not happening again. No matter HOW good those kisses were. One drunken night ignites something neither of them expected, but there’s one Birdie doesn’t know Nate’s secret. Will Nate’s V-card send Birdie running, or will she be the one to finally make a move?
Meika Usher is a sucker for an HEA. She writes love stories laced with snark, sex, and swears. When she's not writing, she loves to travel (Amsterdam is her favorite city), scream-sing Taylor Swift in her car (All Too Well, anyone?), and get tattoos (a dozen and counting). She lives in Michigan with her two snooty cats and one scrappy little dog. Oh, and a never-ending pile of romance novels she swears she's going to read…someday.
The description of this book intrigued me, so I decided to give it a shot. Can’t say I’ve read about a 31 year old virgin before I was curious how that would play out😝. Right off the bat I love Birdie. Her spunky personality and I don’t give a shit attitude, saying whatever comes to her mind was hilarious. Her and Nate’s friendship and banter was thoroughly enjoyable. The fact that they are both starting to see each other in another light, omg😍🤭! Go birdie for just blurting out that she’s been thinking about kissing him all night, what I didn’t expect is for Nate to have the balls and say “so do it”🙀🤯😝. Damn the sexually chemistry between them🥵. Poor sweet Nate, we all were there once, being a virgin is never easy. I like that aspect of the book cause it brings a realness to it, I feel like everyone can relate too. I’m itching to read the rest and see what happens. When they finally took that next step, and Nate felt good about choosing Birdie to loose his virginity too it was honestly kinda beautiful. And ever since that moment their intensity and chemistry is just even more off the chart. They’re falling for each other hard and I’m loving it😍🥰! I’m so glad that they got through there little bumps in the road and got their happily ever after! Overall I thought it was an amazing book and I thoroughly enjoyed the story😊🥰!
My first time reading Meika Usher.. I guess I was a Meika Usher Virgin🤭 But not anymore! I loved this page turning, sweet and quite sexy, virgin MMC trope! The banter was so much fun and I honestly did not want this story to end. I can not wait to read more from this fabulous new to me author!!
I really enjoyed the fast-paced writing, the emotion, the dialogue, and the descriptions in this book! Very well written and such a fun story. I fell in love with the characters, especially Birdie!
I really enjoyed this one! I haven't read a romance with a perspective like Nate's. It seems like too many romances have the guy as a suave sex machine and the girl as less experienced so I loved the flip of that dynamic. Birdie is fun and spontaneous and I could really relate to her emotional hang ups. Overall, a great romantic read and I'll definitely be reading more Meika Usher in the future!
I enjoyed this story immensely. Such great characters (the found family and the actual relatives), the back and forth drama, the inside joke - all of it. I bet this would be wonderful as an audiobook. Can’t wait to read the next installment in the series!
