Career Development and Counseling is part of SAGE’s Counseling and Professional Identity Series.
The poor writing and frequent grammatical errors make this book a chore to read. It is disappointing that a textbook was not subject to better editing and content control.
Read this semester for grad school class on career and lifestyle. The book is dry and at times difficult to focus because of the dryness of the reading, but hey it is a textbook. It does, however, take on the hard task of dealing with multicultural inequity within vocation. That along with the focus on the same in class made the large volume well worth it and interesting. There is a wealth of information to help enable us to create a more equal and just world. From that standpoint, I would much rather read this book than a better-written book that doesn't take into account the importance of these dimensions.
First off, for a textbook this had wayyyy too many grammatical errors and typos. Like to the point where it was difficult to understand some passages ?? However, it taught me what I needed to know so I guess it was fine
It was OK. My score is more because I don't really enjoy career counseling. I have this in my toolbox now, so I have a baseline for when I need to develop these skills more thoroughly.
