Lethal Passage

Rate this book
Allison Hart is the Sunshine State’s newest Private Investigator. Learning the ropes will take some time. But with Charlie Wells and Lucy Boyce alongside her, they’ll navigate the ins and outs together. After all, if it hadn’t been for Lucy, ACL Investigative Services might not exist. That’s especially true when the agency’s first client knocks on their door. Logan Carr is an ex-con once arrested by Lucy’s dad and he’s looking to stay out of trouble. He turns to the agency to prove to the cops he’s keeping his nose clean.

But when the largest drug bust in Tampa’s history points to Logan’s old crew, that crew wants to bring him back into the fold to make things right. The drugs belonged to the cartel and they want retribution.

The crew needs Logan to make one last run to pay back the cartel. After that, they promised he would be out for good. But with the FBI, DEA and local cops watching him, Logan knows that one way or another, this run will be his last. The drop will take place at a dangerous passage not just for mariners, but for anyone who thinks they can escape the cartel.

Allison and her partners must find a way to keep Logan safe from the drug runners. The question is if Logan survives, can they keep him from going back to prison too?

Robin Mahle, the million-selling mystery/thriller author, holds back nothing for this second book in the exciting new Allison Hart series

Another Intriguing and twisting Plot.
Lethal Passage is the second book in the Alison Hart series and I was more into this book as you are getting to know Alison much better and she comes across much stronger and the storyline is full of suspense and intrigue.
Alison Hart with the aid of her team Charlie and Lucy, get stuck into their first case since starting the ACL investigation services company and their first client is an ex con called Logan despite trying to go clean and prove his innocence but his old crew are trying to get him back into their group. Being chased by the FBI, police, the bad guys and numerous others makes this a page turner full of well action to keep you reading long into the night to the last page.
I was given this as a ARC for my voluntary review and my honest opinion

Started very slowly. I can't make heads or tails or what is supposed to be procedure in these books; it seems way off to me. Occasionally the dialogue is repetitive or a little forced. As in the first book, Allison sometimes makes unsafe choices--unsafe for herself and others. There are contradictions; for example, Logan was a good kid who got involved with bad people, or he did very bad things himself. Which is it? The pace picked up very nicely near the end, such that I read longer than intended at that sitting and finished it. But the ending was something of a cliffhanger. I really don't know what to do about this author. Are all her books as police-procedure defying as this series?

Logan has served his time for drug smuggling but the cartel needs him to make another run.
Logan stops at Allison's agency to get help. He wants to stay out of trouble.
Would this be his last run - would the cartel let him go? Would he live or would they take him out. Allison and her crew want to keep Logan safe and get to the bottom of the cartel. Can they do it?
This was an exciting read!

It's official Allison, Lucy and Charlie are ready to use their skills, now that they have opened their own detective agency. The story has it all shady characters, danger, thrills and a trio on intrepid characters that you will root for. Their first case has them on their toes. I liked everything about this story which was a very good follow up to Deep Blue Goodbye.

I’m sorry…

Robin Mahle is one of my favorite authors and I’ve read every single Kate Reid book in a day! They were fabulous. However, this book took me 3-4 days to read and I kept hoping for it to get better, but it just didn’t. I finished it, but felt I could have read 2-3 good books during this time. Sorry Robin, this one just did not appeal to me from the beginning.

good series, fast paced

Allison, Charlie and Lucy agency ACL investigations gets it first client who is an ex-con with the caret drugs and gangs. They try to show that he is following all the parole rules. The feds think they can use him as bait which would put him in danger with cartels but also mess up his parole. Very fast moving. Looking forward to the next in the series.

Lots of intense action

Allison gets her first client for her new PI business but it is not going to be an easy case and it is could be deadly for her client. Especially when it involves the drug cartel.

I like her books

She’s a show stopper. Her books are laden with twists and turns. The plot thickens and then poof another stone unturned and another who done it enters.

Awesome sequel in this Allison Hart series.
Allison and her team are now officially private investors and their first case is almost more than they can handle.
Not the usual case they expected but they find themselves immersed in a drug cartel investigation. They are not “ the law” but they have an important role to play.
It’s full of excitement, intrigue and tension as you would expect . We see them gel as a solid investigation unit and a chance to shine in the eyes of the “ official “ law enforcement agencies.
A cracking story in my humble opinion and well worthy of my time.
