Writing is my bliss and I try to write every day. I started with two publishers who I learned a lot from. Now I self publish. I like the control it gives me over release dates and book covers.
A beautiful story of love and sacrifice. The stories of what Quinn and Heaven had gone through tore at my heartstrings but God's grace had brought them together.
This was a joy to read. I loved Daisy, Heaven's little girl. She was such a wonderful character. Her antics were so funny at times that I couldn't help but laugh out loud. Tim, Heaven's oldest child was such a delight as well. He took his role of older brother and "man of the house" to heart.
Quinn Kavanagh leaves home when he discovers that the family ranch in fact belongs solely to the eldest brother. He has a huge burden that he also bears. He fell in love with the nurse that helped him recover from his injuries during the Civil War. She just unexpectedly disappears one day and his heart has never been the same. In his travels, Quinn comes across Heaven Burke defending her home against several men. Due to the danger, Quinn takes the heavily pregnant Heaven and her two children back to the Kavanagh ranch for protection.
The road to Quinn and Heaven's HEA is one that again was a delight. The plot was well written and flowed nicely. I will say that there were several errors in grammar but it did not detract from the story.
This book is a second chance at a first love for these two in a historical western setting. It has a Christian based foundation so there should be nothing that will offend anyone.
I liked every thing about this book. I loved the children's interactions with the adults most of all. I love that such things as a secret stop for young ones in peril of dying or being bought and sold was a focal point in this book. Even if literary license was taken, after all we are reading fiction. That point was ingeneously handled. I believe things like that could have taken place, look at the safe houses used during the civil war, and WWII. I have an interest in what my southern family did to help slaves and I was privileged enough to visit and tour some of the secret places used, so I have always been aware of the danger people were in. I read right through this book, it grabbed my interest on the first page, and kept my interest through the adventures.
Romance trope: widow/pregnant in danger Series: The Kavanagh Brothers Length: 154 pages
Plot: Quinn is reeling from heartache, the aftereffects of war, and family troubles. He's traveling through Texas and comes across Heaven's home, where she is being threatened by a group of men who are angry that she's helping young Black boys escape into freedom. She's there with her two children, and even though she's also pregnant, she's holding her own. Quinn stops to help her and he convinces her to flee with him since the men were bound to come back. Quinn struggles with his feelings and intends to only provide help until Heaven can get on her feet, but circumstances lead them to pretend they are married. Then Quinn's lost love comes back and he has an important decision to make.
Commentary: I don't typically read clean romances or Christian romances. This one was definitely a Christian romance, but it wasn't too bad - it got a little more obvious toward the end of the book. Still, I liked it more than I thought I would (the story, not the Christian references). I thought Quinn was a little cruel in his indecision and Heaven was incredibly understanding even while her heart was breaking. But maybe that's not quite right - Quinn wasn't indecisive, he was cowardly. He knew what decision he was going to make, but he took every barrier as a sign that he should keep dragging out the declaration of his decision. And there is no reason that Alicia should have been allowed to stay on the ranch at any point. She should have been arrested for attempted murder. Honestly.
I enjoyed reading this book more so than Book 1 with Teagen and Gemma. This story pulled at the readers heart strings. Daisy was the star of the book. "I lub you very very very very much." A story is always so much better with a villain . The award goes to ......Alicia. What a horrible creature. Looking forward to reading the next book.
Love this: “I’m a Rebel through and through.” “Hmm. Not everyone admits to being on the losing side.” “We didn’t lose, we just didn’t win. This time.”
“Mister, could you drag the dead body out to those rocks to the west? I don’t want the children to see him. Then I’ll help you bring the other one into the barn here. If he lives, he lives… if not, it’s to the rock pile.”
A truly wonderful book. I so enjoyed this second book in the series. Quinn and Heaven meet under the worst possible circumstances with her defending her life. Quinn steps in and saves not only her but the children she is trying to rescue! They both have some very deep scars, and are fearful to share their pasts.. Quinn takes Heaven and her two young children to his family ranch. His past is about to come crashing in. How will they deal with it, and what choices do they have? You will enjoy the story I know! I received an ARC of this book and am choosing to leave an honest review.
Quinn has been through hell and back only to find out his father left the family ranch to one brother and didn't divide it up between everyone. He leaves disgruntled to find himself. While on his vision quest he comes to the rescue of a pregnant woman. His heart is hardened and he doesn't think he can love again. Will Heaven and her children be able to crack his frozen heart and teach him to love again? Clean romance with much emotion. A lot of waffling back and forth isn both sides with a surprise visitor that really turns things on a end. HEA. Great series. That can be read as a stand alone.

This is a beautiful story with Quinn and Heaven who meet when men were threatening her and her two children the same men that killed her husband. He helps her and her children by taking them back to his family ranch for protection while she waits for the birth of the child she carries as a result of rape by one of the men after her. He never wanted to fall in love again after the woman he thought he loved left him but Heaven is everything he ever wanted in a wife but would she want to marry him when she sees the scars he has after being burned in the war.

Quinn didn't understand why his father left the family ranch to just his older brother, Teagan when there were eight other brothers who all thought they were going to get equal shares of the ranch. But that wasn't his only reason for leaving. But when he runs into Heaven and her two young children and expecting another one soon, he knows he needs to take them to the ranch for their safety. What he doesn't count on is falling in love with her and her ready-made family. 💗🔥💕

This was another great story about the Kavanagh brothers. Quinn found out the ranch all of the brothers had been working was actually left to the oldest son, Tegan. This really upset Quinn and he decided to travel for a while to work this all out within himself. Traveling, looking for water, he discovered three men calling out to a lady to come out. She had a rifle and fired one shot at the men. Quinn eased down the bank and took his rifle and backed the men off. Made them leave. Well the story becomes much more interesting. Must read to see what happens next.
Quinn: Cowboy Risk Book 2 of The Kavanagh Brothers!
This is Book Two and I'm loving these Kavanagh brothers. As always, Kathleen Ball has given us another hero to love. Quinn was tender hearted, but strong, and stubborn at times. I loved our sweet and equally strong and determined heroine, Heaven. Both have been through so much before they met, and once they got through all the angst, the twists and turns of falling in love, they reached that hard earned HEA. Looking forward to book 3. JudyE
Quinn and Heaven deserved to find love and become a couple. Daisy kept me laughing when she was with Quinn. I loved how Heaven believed God would take care of her and her children. Quinn's family was so lovable to Heaven and her children. After Quinn's first love appeared I was concerned but Quinn followed his heart and figured out his first love was a fraud. Thank goodness he went after them. I also loved how he always acknowledged Owen as his son. It never mattered to him that Owen wasn't his or that he was part Indian. I would highly recommend this book.
Quinn has discovered that the ranch he has worked to build all his life belongs solely to his older brother Teagan and he has no stake in it. As the story begins he has just rescued a pregnant woman and her two children harassed because they have been protecting black children post civil war.
Pretend marriages seem to be a thing just as were mail order brides and soldiers injured in the Civil War. This is a Romance novel and Quinn is the second of ten brothers to find a bride so there are eight to go.
I enjoyed this one as it was different that other cowboy books. While it has one at the edge of their seats at times, it can also feel soap opera or telenovela-ish sometimes, too. Though it feels more contemporary that historical. I also cannot really sense the Christian part as it feel a little out of character when they pray. I would have wished for it to be more dialogue heavy which would have helped for the characters to actually get to know each other, rather than interpreting the thoughts and characteristics of the other.
Quinn: Cowboy Risk is the second book in The Kavanagh Brothers series and is a Christian historical romance. The characters are great, likable, and strong people who are just trying to do the right thing. The storyline is well written, with danger, misunderstandings, humour, and romance. I loved this story and found it to be an entertaining read.
The second book in The Kavanagh Brothers series a well written story that kept me turning pages I had to know what was going to happen. This is a Christian Historical Western Romance and is Quinn Kavanagh and Heaven Burke's story and everything they go through as an evil woman tries to keep them apart.I enjoyed reading this book and hope there is more to come in this series. This is Book #2 in the Kavanagh Brothers series and is Haven and Quinn's story. Quinn rescues Haven from a gang of thugs and thus the story begins. There is a lot of action in the story including danger, fear, some humor, secrets, romance and a HEA. I really enjoyed this book and highly recommend it. Don't miss this one...I know you will enjoy it.
I love the Kavanaugh brothers and Quinn's story is so touching! You will not be disappointed in this book. I thought the characters were great. I read the beginning of Brogan's story and am so excited to read. Thank you Kathleen Ball for all your great books. Keep up the great work. This fan enjoys your writing.
When I downloaded this ARC I read book 1 as I wanted to know the start of the series. I immediately started book 2 as soon as I finished.Quinn is the second of 9 boys, Teagan just got married. Finding out that the family ranch belonged only to Teagan according to their fathers will, Quinn takes off to think things out. Heaven a widow is pregnant having a gun battle against 3 men and hiding her 2 and 3 other children when Quinn comes upon her. This adventure is a difficult one in many ways for all. Join them to see what makes family.

What a great story. You write such amazing stories and I love them all. Was so nice to read that there was a man that was there to help and to take care of her pg or not, half breed baby ,still his own ! What a great world it would be if there was many many more Quinn's in it. Great stouy. Thanks so much. Respectfully Joyce
There are twists and turns in this book and all the events, including romance, are wonderfully written. These rancher brothers each have faced a life of struggle. Quinn had scars from the war so when he met a widow with children, he thought the worst, that she couldn't stand him. Loved the children in the storyline.
This is an excellent story with elements of the Underground Railroad battling slavery even after the Civil War, which although fictional, was very plausible. Also it portrayed incredible courage of the heroine to survive, protect her children, and keep her faith. Enjoy 👍👍👍💜
I am so glad I found this author in my search for something to read. Loved Quinn and Heaven's story. I wanted Heaven to slap Alicia for what she did to Daisy. I know that is not the Christian thing to do. But just once I wanted someone to put her in her place. I have already purchased the next book in the series.
A story about a man who was hurt and thinks he has no love to give. The reality is that he is kind, loving and a true hero. He meets a strong woman and her children who have been hurt in many ways. They all learn to love and heal each other with a few glitches on the way. Such a great story and I can't wait to read more of the series.
Oh my. Love Heaven and Quinn's journey of meeting and love the children enacting with the brothers of Quinn. I raised two son's and both were so different in personality and the ways they viewed life. I'm going to download the series of your books. This is a awesome series of brother's
I loved reading this story. This is a great series and I can’t wait to read the other books that are in it. I liked Quinn and Heaven. They make a wonderful couple. I would like whoever proofread this book to known that there isn’t a period after Miss.
I listened to the audiobook of this story. Enjoyed the narrator. Quinn is searching for peace and quiet after the war. He just happens to be in the right place at the right time, when he meets Heaven. There are men after her and Quinn helps her and her family. A feel good story. I was given a copy of this book by the author for an honest review.
The Kavanagh family becomes dearer with each book. While very different in personality, each brother and new characters as they join the family brings more warmth and unconditional love.
Character development and storylines are well developed and unique. You can’t just read one, you’ll crave more as you finish each book. Enjoy.
