When ATF special agent Kane Delancey meets Luca Price, a bright young gay man, his whole world turns upside down. On top of his growing feelings for Luca, his job has just become more complicated. Still undercover with the LAPD, he feels as though he’s completely out of his element… until a popular bar in West Hollywood blows up, right in Luca’s back yard.
Luca’s new flame, Kane Delancey, is the man of his dreams until he suddenly stops calling and goes back to dating women. Luca is heartbroken but he’s made of grit. Nothing keeps him down for long. His job brings him joy, his employees keep him on his toes, and his friends make him laugh even when he wants to cry. When someone close to him is suddenly murdered, Luca reaches out to the only person he can think of for help.
Kane is in for a reckoning and he doesn’t even know it. With Luca back in his life, he’s forced to be honest with himself and try to navigate his new reality. Meanwhile, someone has hacked into the Justice Department and stolen a list of WITSEC protectees. While the US Marshals rush to round up potential targets all over the country, Kane and his friends at the ATF, the LAPD, and the FBI realize they may have a serial killer on their hands.
Someone is picking off people… one by one. They must be stopped.

// I hope her rambling and long-windedness in this book is not an example of any of her other books or her writing in general, because we’re going to have a problem if so! It takes talent to say SO much, just to fill the space, without saying anything at all! My goodness, the ramble!! I ended up skimming most of this book, okay not most, but at least half it!!!
I am not going to lie. If I could give this series a 10 out of 10, I would. It is everything I love in a mystery, murder mystery, thriler, however you want to describe it. For me, Patricia Logan has hit it out of the park with this series and I can NOT wait to read the next two. Of course, you need to read these in order. If not, you will be lost. I want to shake Kane so bad in this series sometimes, but I get it. After thinking himself straight for years, he’s run into jewelry store manager, Luca, and Luca has knocked him on his butt. He can’t get the man out of his mind. In book 1, he was fighting it so hard, he was being hateful, and although in this one, he’s a little better, he’s still fighting the fact he’s attracted to a man. But worst of all, his cases seem to have Luca right in the middle of them somehow. With the first, it was his jewelry store involved and now, a club he frequents and a friend who ends up dead. At the end of book 1, they find out a WITSEC list has gone missing and the whole case ends up with Kane undercover with the LAPD to solve a 20 year + crime spree. Now, one man from that operation has gotten away and is targeting those in the WITSEC. And now Kane and crew have to stop them, before Kane’s own family and many others end up dead. Because these guys have no end to their corruption. It’s funny how Luca and Kane have been intertwined with these cases, when they didn’t know each other at all. Except for when Kane saw Luca at a club with his woman date and was drawn to the man. Needless to say, his date didn’t end well because Kane couldn’t take his eyes off Luca. But it was worse because Kane was warned repeatedly not to mess with Luca if he couldn’t back it up and he continued to do so and hurt Luca repeatedly. So yeah, I want to shake him hard. A lot. But then again, he’s a good agent and he’s been there for Luca when he’s really needed it and it’s been needed. These cases have been leading these cops and agents around, some for many years. Just when they think they have it nailed down, something happens. It’s been one thing after another, with robberies, murders, ghastly ones at that, mobs, and everyone seems to be intertwined somehow. This one was so sad because of a friend of Luca’s ended up being murdered and when found out why, it was more devastating. They’ve all been hard up to this point because all the cases are personal in ways and are connected in weird ways that weren’t seen before. So it’s doing a number on everyone, to be honest. When you deal with mobs, and murderers and so on, man you get into some heavy stuff. And it’s heavy. But it’s a perfect book. It really is. It’s everything you want in this kind of genre and I could not recommend this more. If you haven’t read this series, you need to so bad. I’m going to be diving into the next one real quick because I can’t wait to see how everyone interacts again. I know I probably haven’t described how good this book is, I hope I have, because you need to read this series.
Patricia Logan had done an outstanding job showing how difficult accepting one's sexuality can be.. Kane has stated from the beginning that he sees his future in a traditional relationship with plans for a traditional marriage and family.. He never expected Luca and struggles with the idea that his idea of having a traditional relationship and family must change..The author took us the ugly route of Kane’s inner struggle with his own sexuality and I applaud her for that.. It reminds me a little of how Pete Buttigieg has been outspoken in his struggles to accept himself and come out.. Books and writers are supposed to make you fall in love with the characters and as mad as I was with Kane in the first book is as much as I love him in the second book.. Patricia is absolutely brilliant and delivers us a characters that stirred up both hate and love.. Thank goodness for the Lucas' of this world, those hopeless romantics who believe that love will win the day.. And it's always a win win when we get Thayne and Jarrett!!!!!!
Terrific follow-up to Book 1. Kane and Luca's story just keeps getting better and better. It's wonderful to read a book that not only has MC's you come to care about, but intriguing and interesting secondary characters too. My favorite books are ones that make me "feel". This book truly has ALL the "feels". I don't retell the story in my reviews, nor do I do spoilers. I can tell you that if you haven't picked up Book 1 "Stay with Me" and begun Kane and Luca's story, DO IT! There are laughs, giggles, snorts and yes there will be tears. Patricia Logan is a masterful story-teller. ****RECOMMENDED****

I read this back to back with WITSEC 1. It drove me crazy when I started reading and Kane is at it again with the push and pull. That drove me nuts since book 1. I admire Luca's patience, probably submit his name for sainthood or something. I'm relieved to see that Kane redeemed himself. Thank a duck! A true Patricia Logan fashion, there's action, fast-paced, exciting, it has all the feels. Plus, I get my Thayne and Jarrett cameo! I miss them! I can't wait to see what's cookin' in book 3. Patricia always knows how to keep me wanting for more of her stories.
I liked the way this book brought Kane and Luca back together. I was a bit upset with Kane at the end of the last book. Luca is of course adorable as always. I can't wait to read the next book in the series.
I love the second book of The WITSEC series. Kane and Luca are back. Kane was ignoring Luca until he saw him in a club after he had started dating women again. He realized that he couldn't get Luca out of his head nor heart. Luca was hurt and wanted nothing to do with Kane. The book is just as exciting as the first one with a little more twist and action to it. I loved seeing the MCs from the previous books. The book is funny, exciting, romantic, some angst, and the sexy times are hot. I'm looking forward to the next book in this series. Patricia Logan never disappoints.
This just gets better and better! We are back with Kane and Luca. I am just loving this new series. This has the action, humor and more twisted and turns that I just couldn't put this book down. Patricia Logan just makes an action filled story that from page one to the end it is non stop and I love it! I can't wait for the next one because I definitely need more of this series.
When I read Patricia Logan's book I dont know which part entertains me more the case the agents are working on or the blossoming love. Both aspects have me enthralled. This series is no different. I cant wait to see where this relationship goes and this case.
This is the second book in The WITSEC Series. A sensational book with great writing. The plot was entertaining and it was steady throughout the book. I found the story and characters enthralling. The characters were developed and thought out. I did have a bit of a struggle in how easy Luca accepted Kane’s change of dating situation. I found that thread of the story hard to believe. I know that it can be done I just felt like it was “Kane acted this way and Luca’s reaction is that’s ok let’s continue from where we were.” There no struggle or doubt about the situation. Luca and Kane are the MC’s of this book. I can recommend this book as a great read. I can’t wait for the next book. I voluntarily read an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
Kudos to Patricia Logan on the portrayal of Kane Delaney. I love his character but I didn’t like him very much at the beginning of this book. It’s a credit to the author that she’s able to make me strongly dislike one of the main characters of the book and then redeem that character within the same work. The plot to this story has many twists and turns that will keep you avidly reading to the end and anxious for the next book to release. And as always, I love seeing other friends featured as supporting characters in different series. It’s like being surrounded with extended family and close friends. Congratulations Patricia Logan on another spectacular book!
This fantastic, totally awesome, wild, crazy, raw, intense, gritty, gripping, grab-you-by-the-feels, action packed, adrenaline soaked, more twists and turns than a roller coaster, no holds barred, smoking hot, keep-you-on-the-edge-of-your-seat, nail biting, exciting, amazing, and completely unexpected story hit the ground running, and never slowed down. I was sucked in from the very first page, and did NOT want to put it down. I would DEFINITELY recommend getting this marvelous book immediately!!!
I love Patricia Logan's books especially the suspense and looks lie this series will not disappoint. (Now I need to go get the first book) I did listen to this on audio and Michael Dean's Narration had its ups and downs for me. I like distinctive voices for each character and in this Kory and Luca sounded a lot alike, as a matter of fact, many had the same very stereotypical gay sounding voice and you could hear when he paused for breath on occasion. NOW having said that... he makes up for it on excitement and the sex scenes are major hot with the moans and drawn-out names and you can feel Kane's panic in the times of his worry over Luca. So that is a major plus. The narrations are far from boring and I highly suggest if you can afford it to get the audios of this series. If you like undercover detectives, Jewerlystore managers, Age gap, gay for you, second chances, mystery/suspense and a hot romance this is for you.
I really liked this one after the beginning, when Kane was being such an asshole. They made up pretty quickly which I liked.
Luca is so sweet and loving. I love the potbelly pig story. The names were funny. Especially with the tasseographer. I think Kane redeemed himself. I am curious how well he will do when he tells his family he’s with a man. He compares Luca to women he dated a lot and that got frustrating. Can’t wait to read the next one. I hope there’s more action. Especially one with Thayne and Jarret. There was good action comedy in their books.
An angsty read but I loved it. Although I must say I wasn't crazy about Kane at the beginning but I feel like he redeemed himself. Kane and Luca are incredibly hot together and I could really feel their connection. Luca's patience and capacity of forgiveness are incredible. There are lots of twists and turns in this one but they work to bring Kane and Luca even closer together. The narrator truly enhanced the overall enjoyment of this book. He is incredible with all of the characters and with the story itself. I voluntarily reviewed a gifted copy of this audio book.
This series continues to evolve into something wonderful. Kane is trying to figure out his personal life while trying to solve an important case. As Kane and Luca continue to move forward in their relationship, Kane must also work with the LAPD and ATF to solve a complicated case . Of course, the two overlap. Kane shows significant development. Luca is committed and optimistic. They continue to move forward in the case but there is still a lot that is unknown. Another great entry in the series.
Continuing story of Kane and Luca. The beginning of the book seemed slow but it picked up pretty fast. Some action with a hunt for a serial killer. But mostly this book was about Kane discovering how much Luca had come to mean to him. Nice book. I like that so many of the authors other characters were involved in this book. She does create memorable personalities.
I love Luca! He makes this story. This case makes more sense and it was definitely more interesting then in book one. Still a lot of useless dialog. I skimmed through so many paragraphs because it held no real bearing in the story and that just bores me. She has to stop doing that! Just stick to the story.
The storyline is interesting, almost a murder mystery. I love these sexy hot M/M times between Luca and Kane. However, I feel the snails pace of their relationship is going to kill me. Off to read book three. :)
Wow....Kane finally gets himself straight..well not so straight....They are still after a bomber and things get dicey for Luca but he now has his Kane back in his life and they are perfect together...I am loving this series so much x
I got to 30% and decided I couldn't go any further. Maybe I'd enjoy it more if I'd read the 1st in the story, but maybe not since I didn't like one of the MCs, Kane, very much.
