Have you heard the whispers? She woke up different today. She smiles like she is hiding a secret. She holds her head high, like she is wearing an invisible crown. The air Around her is charged with confidence, strength, and courage. Have you heard the whispers? She woke up different today. Yet it feels she has been like this always. Maybe it’s the story that has changed.
About the Author
‘Fragile but Unbreakable’ is how Reecha describes herself. She believes in miracles, takes life head on, and is passionate about weaving magic with her words. And now that she has found her calling, she desires to spend her entire life reading, travelling, and dwelling in her own little fictional and poetic worlds. An MBA from Loyola Institute of Business Administration, she is based out of New Delhi where she lives with her husband and two kids. She – Screw Silence is her third book.
SHE is a book of poems and one-liners about the life of the modern Indian woman. It focuses on topics such as the patriarchy, gender discrimination, equality, and more. It has its heart in the right place, but the poems do feel a little contrived at times.
An interesting collection of micro tales, SHE - Screw Silence! by Reecha Agarwal Goyal, will take you on an emotional journey. It will make you think. Recently, I came across a number of books on micro tales, but this one is unique in many different ways.
"Why kickboxing?" "I plan to knock out patriarchy one day."
As the title of the book suggests, SHE - Screw Silence! is all about equality, feminism, women empowerment, the women raising their voices, and smashing the patriarchy. The book might look like a short, and cute book, but the subject is really deep. Each one of the micro tales is unique and deep.
I feel that this book is a must-read for every person. It is extremely relatable and one of the best books that I have read in 2020 so far. The use of simple language has made the book an easy read. It is a very short book and it took me hardly a few hours to complete reading this book.
Overall, it was a great read for me. The concept is really beautiful and I absolutely enjoyed reading it. Definitely recommending this book to everyone!
""You're a bit on the heavier side. And what's that little mark on your forehead?' asked the guy's mother. The girl looked at the boy's growing pot belly, and then at the scars on his hand. The staredown was won! " - from the book.
Book like She Shrew Silence can really energize anyone. This book is a pack of microtales which are mainly focused on "Feminism" "Women Empowerment" "stereotypes" and "cheap mentality of the people". The whole concept of this book is beautiful🤩. The white and pink contrasting pages and the cover of the book just added more beauty to it.
This book takes into account different role of a women, like a daughter, a sister, a mother , a wife, a daughter-in-law, a friend and many more. Every words included in this book seems like a straight representation of the words out of thousands of the women in this world. All the microtales seems a story of every women. It talks about the orthodox ideologies that people hold and when any girl tries to break through those thoughts she becomes 'a bitch' , 'a whore' and an 'oversmart girl'. In this 21st century where we can see everything around us changing at a fast pace but sadly most of the people's mentality are still in primeval age.
I just enjoyed the complete book. Its a handy one and can be complete within some minutes. "She Shrew Silence" is definitely a must read for all.
The cover is a simple and eye catching image of a woman who symbolized silence with a shh "Finger on her lips" which is apt considering the title of the book SHE- Screw Silence. The book also comes with a customary pink color which everyone related with Girls or women.
The book can be said to be a collection of feeling women faces during her life time. The ups , the downs , the fights. Even though the book is actually a club of women-centrist thoughts I loved the versatility and how the writer Reecha has played with words in-order to express her ideas. I do remember reading a similar book from the author sometime back and I should say this one is far more better than her previous one.
The language used is simple and easy as there is no particular order in which this needs to be read as each page portraits an emotion faced by a woman.
I liked the uniqueness in which the words are used , even though there are few things about women which men take for granted there are lots of things which needs attention and this book has done a wonderful job.
I have read this author’s similar work ago and I absolutely loved it so I picked this book up. It’s a short and quick read so I will keep my reviews short. Basically book is the micro fiction tales. And it’s really difficult to write this work as writer has limited words and letters and he/she has to express the entire story or feeling. And author has done a really good job here. The stories or we can say verses are based on various topics but basically core concept is based on feminism or women empowerment, freedom etc. The author has done good use of vocabulary and language. The sentence formation has been done in decorative ways. And definitely I loved those random pink pages. Overall good one and must read for those who loves this genre. Here are few examples that I loved.
“This is how you do dishes” The mother taught her daughter, And her son.
“Childhood was special. She slept all day and was still loved.”
TITLE: She Screw Silence AUTHOR: Reecha Agarwal Goyal RATING: 4.5/5 GENRE: Non-fiction poem STYLE: First-person narrating REVIEW: The book opens in some amazing lines that really touched every corner of my heart. the book in its entirety paints a picture that gives voice to some unspoken topic that actually needs to be heard and actually thought about. the author in the book has not used any specific rhyming scheme. it holds a small paragraph with each paragraph telling an aspect of the world from the perspective of a girl who has been given the wings of freedom. Who has broken the shekels of society that bounds here and flown out of the prison made of orthodox ideologies! The title of the book in itself says a lot what the content of the book and has aptly be chosen. The poems in the book took to ride that cannot be comprehended in word but could only be lived. In this modern era of the 21st century where pseudo feminism is hyped more than feminism, this book has come as a mind changer, which was much needed to nudge people in the right direction so as to benefit society the most. the book has a simple style of narration and words used are simple but affection and it tell the importance of female touch in the pseudo patriarchal society and both male and female are equal and should be treated equally I loved reading this book and really lucky to have this book in my collection. I just purely loved it.
SHE Screw Silence is a pack of micro tales and poems wrapped in a hand-sized book. "Don’t force yourself to be confined in others thoughts" is what the author implies to the women out there. In this book, She covered the topics on women empowerment mostly albeit feminism, equality, bonding and relationship are her priority. Through her musings, she urges the readers that “Its okay to embrace on the attitude 'You are enough', to stand tall on our stances and expects other women to be much more than What the society needs one to be”. Honestly, I am glad that I picked up this read. And I loved it how the author chimes in all about the women, from tick it off to open-hearted.
What this book did tell the readers are the ways to shackle their perspectives and stack up the hopes high suspending the traditional beliefs. While I do give credit to the truths, thoughts and emotions a 5*, It could have been better if the opinions of political inclinations towards women in granting the rights and how the actual outlaws hold the house of cards in our society are versed. Overall this book is probably a little more “Cutesy”.
The mother smiled a beatific smile every time someone said, "Your daughter looks just like you." It had been seven years since she had adopted her. From the same book 'SHE- Screw Silence!'
SHE Screw Silence is a package of micro tales and poems with beautiful girly pink pages. In this book, the topics covered are on women empowerment, equality, and many other parts where women should be a part of. Through this book, the author tells how strong women are, and what they are capable of, what makes them so unique and why they should be seen as a part of today's society. Author's previous book was about what society does to women, and this book is what should they do about it.

Women empowerment is essential special for those girls who still are afraid to speak for themselves. I really wanna thank the author for this book. the quotes depict all emotions and still can leave a deep impact on the readers and that’s why I guess this book is a worthy read for everyone. I hope my little practice of giving it to others who need it will help them. I hope and I am quite sure about it.
I full-heartedly thank the author one again for such a helpful book. Thanks a lot mam
She Screw Silent is a collection of micro tales . I'm always a big fan of micro tales. I love how in a nut shel, a deep message can be delivered. We are living a so called "modern" society where women still face discrimination. Women are still considered as weak and soft . They are pushed in the corner. But women are fighting. Instead of having so many problems they are shining atop the peak of the success .
She screw silence is a mirror of every woman's life. These a collection of unspoken thoughts of every woman.
There have been so many books on feminism in last couple of years. Reecha Agarwal Goyal explores this theme in this wonderful book of micro-tales She: Screw Silence.
Reviewing poetry is something that I continue to struggle with greatly. After all, it is a very emotional and personal experience. How does one sum that up in a manner that others can comprehend to the point of feeling?
She Screw Silence immediately presented itself in unique manner when compared to some of my recent encounters with poetry (I have been exploring lately). There were no outbursts of anger or sorrow that begged to be understood, heard or released. Instead there was a much simpler, and none the less powerful theme occurring within; Positivity.
Broken into small and delicate doses of inspiration, Reecha Agarwal Goyal delivers reminders of hope and empowerment through uplifting words and wisdom. Lending a voice to those who often struggle with expression and fears of being heard or misunderstood, she offers promises of better things to come and the gentle reminder that we must live in the now.
This is a beautiful collection that reads with magnificent ease and still manages to provide something profound. While my time with the book with very brief (less than two hours), my experience will be ongoing. She Screw Silence makes the first steps into that journey feel incredibly possible.
'SHE - screw silence' is the third book by Reecha Agarwal Goyal. The book is based on micro tales on the topic of women.
The author has very well written each and every page of the book. The book and the cover is very beautiful. It's a small and very cute book coloured white and pink.
Every page I turned while reading this gave more courage and strength within me to write my own destiny and wait for no one else. Each page I turned, made me more proud of who I am today.
My favorite of all is "ambitious and bossy are two words that the world often uses to bring you down. Make sure you roar louder." And, "she established a multi-million enterprise the day she was told, mind you own business."
Some where in between Sorrow and Happiness, Love and Heartbeat, She found herself.
Glimpse into plot...! It's a book of TTT, it never cease to astound me, the entire pink-ish shades are gleaming. The way She convey through her poem, hit you directly where it stays, it like the open mind my soul. Some feelings which we were unable to express are read through out this book. It empower us it is own way. At the beginning the graphic which are placed so prepossessing. I wish there was more at the end but even though the ended is really strong. The language is effortless, it easy to read in one go! Instantly you will fall in love with words, if you pick this book. Highly recommended. Keep writing and Keep Sharing.
Powerful emotions and thoughts written beautifully. The relevant and potent book "She Screw Silence" delivers a biting criticism of patriarchy and the ways in which it silences women. It is evidence of the determination and power of women who, in the face of a society that frequently tries to minimize them, refuse to be alienated and make an effort to forge their own pathways. The novel's examination of the different types of oppression that women experience—from overt misogyny to more concealed forms of discrimination and control—is one of its strongest points. Goyal sheds light on the omnipresence of gender inequality and the ways in which it can restrict women's power and autonomy via her experiences.
First of all, Wonderful cover along with the whole package cover and pages of the book, in amid the pages are painted pink which brings out a very joy mood to continue reading as the presentation of the book is so pretty.
This book is all about girl power and how women are never weak but always stronger than the men. This book has it all- concepts, angst, dark humour, inspiring and all round wonderful.
It was a delight to flip the pages and continue reading the book which is short and can be finished in an hour or so.
"I have learnt the code for survival. And that is? Screw Silence."
Short, crisp, yet strongly resonating and unbelievably engaging, "She: Screw Silence!" by Reecha Agarwal Goyal showcases the power of expression in brevity and attempts to break all the stereotypes.
A collection of short poems, quotes and nano-tales, "She: Screw Silence" deals mainly with the theme of feminism, women empowerment, a break through the orthodox ideologies and a breach in the stereotypical view. An anecdotal peep into the women's mind, heart and soul, the poetry collection forms the voice of every women and mirrors the true women inside all of us.
Beginning with a wonderful dedication and concluding with a great acknowledgement that touches the heart, the book encompasses snippets of tales that serves as an eye-opener for the society and expresses deep emotions that leaves the readers yearning for more.
The verses beautifully capture all the roles of women as daughter, sister, wife, mother, daughter-in-law and friend, while preserving her individuality as well. It also showcases the love and support that a woman deserves from the men in her life: father, brother, husband, son-- to make her life a little happier and the world a better place to live in.
The book redefines the seven deadly sins and establishes the stark contrast between false beauty and real achievement. Irony, sarcasm and humour are exploited to their maximum level to form a remarkable satire on the society and its ideologies.
The book not only brings out the dirty side of the society but also demonstrates the attitude that one needs to harbour to defy the evils of the society and conquer them. It also gives us an impressive view of an ideal society that breaks its orthodox mindset and useless stereotypes, embracing modernism with an open arm.
Each page is sculpted with a voice to break free from all the shackles. The voice that instills the inner pride of being born as a woman and gives power to women, energising them to fight with the obstacles and rise higher by stepping on the bitter words of the society.
The book establishes an emotional connection with the readers by mirroring their own thoughts, emotions, experiences and realisations. Unheard whispers echo through the poems, unspoken words get voiced through the quotes and untold tales are narrated through the book. Every woman will find a part of themselves hidden in the pages of the book that choose to encourage, inspire and strengthen them.
Imbuing high doses of inspiration into the heart and motivating one towards self-love, this book could surely be counted as one of those "go to" books to which the readers can rush to whenever they fill sad, weak or demotivated. The cute little pocket size of the book allows it to be carried everywhere if someone is in need for some "on the way" motivation.
The cute pink pages that occur randomly in between is a visual treat to the eyes that enhances the beauty of the book and enriches the reading experience. Pink, which is a symbol of the women, is redefined through these pages as a symbol of feminine strength, power and courage.
Although the themes chosen are not uncommon, yet the unique narrative technique and the unpredictable plotlines make sure that once the readers enter the book, they are greeted with a volley of surprises that would leave them enthralled.
Woven with lucid language, vivid imagery and swift flow, the unputdownable book is a quick and easy read. However, with its powerful emotions and thought-provoking quotes, it is not so easy to come out of the hangover of the words penned in the book.
The powerful writing style of the author weaves magic through the words that pierce the conscience, resonate within the heart and linger in the mind before making its home in the soul forever.
The theme of the book does justice to the captivating title, celebrating the power of women and voicing their thoughts that were once silenced under the rule of patriarchy.
The bold cover compliments the theme as well as the title with the sarcastic figure of a woman putting a finger on her lips depicting how they were always silenced by the male-dominated society but won't be suppressed any more.
Spun with the strings of emotions, inspirations, love, pain, passion and pride, "She: Screw Silence!" by Reecha Agarwal Goyal is a treasure trove of beautifully crafted golden thoughts that celebrates womanhood in every hue and colour.
"Womanhood is not limited by biology and personal choices."
She: Screw Silence "When he has an opinion, he's smart. When she has an opinion, she's being over smart. Since when has intelligence been the prerogative of our male counterpart? " This book debunks myths, myths that have left no stone unturned in putting down women, myths that make women question themselves in every way possible, myths that try to silence women and what not. The book is an inspiration for the women out there to pedastalize themselves over men and society, to bring out their real selves, to tell the world that there is more to them than marriage, make-up and submission to man, to demonstrate the intelligence, power and support of women to each other. The book is about equality, equality that's been written about in the laws but never enforced, equality that asks for women to have an ounce of privacy in their lives that the men enjoy without asking for permission, equality that's been frowned upon when it comes to a girl choosing a life partner, equality that's been written about but never pronounced, equality that grants women the right to choose their career and by career she does not mean marriage, equality that does not categorize an easy going woman as a SLUT, equality that does not make her a failure for not passing an exam, equality that does not make an independent, strong-willed, self-assertive woman a BITCH, equality that does not ask for permission to live her life on her terms. Try to think otherwise of women, try educating them for their own good, try to support them to stand against the male chauvinists, try to support them in living their life to the fullest and finally try to not belittle them and the world would become such a better and beautiful place to breathe in. This book has been an eye opener in many ways, making me realize the many facets, many of them listed above, in which women and girls face unbridled restraint from and in the society that burdens them with the responsibility of upholding their honor. An insightful read indeed!

#BookReview Book Name- She: Screw Silence! Author- Reecha Agarwal Goyal Publisher- Fingerprint! Publishing Overall rating- 5/5 My view: When I bought the book, I wasn’t really sure how the author would do justice to the innovative title she had put up. I knew it was related to women and women empowerment but I didn’t know how the author would portray it. The author has done a beautiful and magnificent job in conveying her feelings, emotions and thoughts. She has been direct and to the point through her book full of micro tales that will leave a person emotionally touched. Each paragraph shows a different perspective of a girl and how she has to break the stupid stereotypes the society has made up for her. The author has been able to touch as many topics as possible ranging from equality to self love to friendship to passion to social abuses to feminism and so much more. It might even spark deep thoughts in the reader and nudge him/her in the right direction as far as where feminism is concerned. It’s amazing how the author was able to portray all of her ideas in just a few lines throughout the book. She didn’t need a big book of 400 or something pages to let the readers know how she actually felt. Even though the narration type was pretty simple and the words used were also simple, it can be safely said that the author was successful in making a direct connection of affection with the readers. Coming to the cover, it is gorgeous and really innovative while the cute size of the book makes it even more appealing. The few pink pages attached along with the white ones make it even more eye-catching and interesting. Overall, I think that the book is a must read in today’s 21st century where both women and men are supposed to be treated equally but aren’t. It easily portrays what a girl feels throughout her life and would be better if every single person could be able to see it for themselves.

‘SHE – Screw Silence!’ by Reecha Agarwal Goyal is a collection of micro-tales. At first I need to mention that it is a very beautiful book with a beautiful cover page. After reading this book we all can somehow relate to the micro-tales. Even in this 21st century we do get notice gender bias, gender stereotype. Some of them are so imbibed in us that we don’t we notice that we directly or indirectly get to be a part of this stereotype and bias.
There are times when we our doing things which we don’t like. At times we think what the society will think. But in this process we forget our true selves. There are rules made by the society which most of us follow blindly without thinking who made them and what is the true meaning behind them. The situation sometimes gets so worse that girls are even told how to laugh, what to wear, how to behave and for boys it is boys should not cry.
The author has done an excellent job in putting forward these stereotypes and bias in those short tales. Some of my favourite from the book are:
• There was a loud applause as she bowed before the audience. She had bought herself the piano table on her 40th birthday. She was 60 today. • “Breakfast is my duty, lunch is hers, and dinner is ours,” he told his friends. They laughed at him thinking he was henpecked. He laughed louder at their pea-sized intellect. • If his being overweight is a ‘health issue,’ then her being overweight should not be a ‘matrimonial issue!’
There are many more such tales which the readers will find interesting. Each tale deals with the different problems that we as a society always get to experience directly or indirectly.
The language is simple and the readers will not have any problem in going through the book. The book is short and the readers can complete it in one sitting.
Overall, I loved the book and it has successfully put forth the point that we can achieve everything and that we all are equal. I would surely recommend this book to all.
She- Screw Silence by Reecha Agarwal Goyal 🌸₹150 🌸 Non fiction- Poetry 🌸 156 pages 🌸Fingerprint publishers BLURB- A collection of approx 150 terribly tiny tales. These microtales deal with the life story of a female. OPINION- This is the typical example of all the stories have been told before but never by you. It's a man's world, has always been. I wont disagree to that and this book proves it right showing the snippets of the life journey of a woman. The cover is bold and screaming attention. The title well if that isn't bold and intriguing I don't know what is. All the microtales deal with several issues a woman faces right from her birth to her death. The tales of several women but all the same is beautifully potrayed through the prisms of Reecha's writings. The contrast between the white and pink pages is brilliant. I simply loved the concept. I smiled reading few tales and then got shivers reading some and then nearly cried reading some. Each microtale is different from the previous one and feels close to ones own self. Microtales say loud stories in few words and soft whispers. I can't speak for everyone but I was touched and probably changed for some parts after this read. I can't really choose a favourite because all of them are equally amazing yet few touched my heart strings much more than the others. A really short read I completed it within half an hour in one sitting itself. Honestly, you wouldn't feel like putting the book down once you pick it up. The language is simple and can be easily picked by beginners. Definately recommended to everyone because the book is simply amazing.
1."Be brave like a man " "Bravery has no gender ". 2. "So what is AIDS?" The speaker asked. "A topic that makes the family members exchange looks with each otger and avoid looking at the one infected. "Answered a girl from the audience . She was infected with AIDS . The family with a dirtier disease. Like these two short stories this book is contented with full of those inspiring and powerful stories where positivity has got a new definition. With a new thought and energy this book has made its readers to look their surroundings with a new hope , where women are demanding equal respect and responsibility to balance their lives like men , where all orthodox thoughts are started to collapse with time and where women are continuously fighting to live that according to their own wish. Society and its people where continuously are creating a claustrophobic atmosphere which is making obstacles towards growth , there this author has put her full potential to break that wall and to give freedom to all those pigeons who are eagerly waiting to touch the sky and fly high. This book is one of the favourite books of mine which I got a chance to read in this year. Such positivity , happiness , energy and life is really embracing a reader who is always seeking to find a new way to enjoy life. These short stories are so beautiful that with these two lines everyone will find a new motivation to live this life in a new way , to look at the women and to respect them with a new thought. This book has an unimaginable charm and by turning every single page every reader will fill a high urge to read more and more. I highly recommend this book to everyone.
Book Name : SHE- Screw Silence! Author : Reecha Agarwal Goyal Pages : 160 Publisher : Fingerprint! Publishing Genre : Miro-Tales Version : Paperback 🤷📓 Why read this book? A MUST READ FOR ALL FEMALES out there ❤️💜💕. Keep this copy with you and motivate yourself!!!! Gift it to the females around you this is the besttttt gift any female could have! 📓📓 Writing review for this book was very difficult for me. Words can't express how much this book had been dear to me. The book is a collection of Miro-Tales involving women, at times sarcastically and empowering them. At times I feel down I just take this book and read these micro-tales. The micro tales are filled with tons of emotions, some make you smile, some make you cry, some give you goosebumps, some make you proud and some just a mixed feeling. One such Micro-tale: "What is the most important lesson that you have learnt in the company?" the boss asked the software engineer at her farewell. "I have learnt the code for survival." "And that is?" " *Screw silence.* "
Another one: " How do you deal with negative criticism in life?" " I have a three word magical mantra that enfeebles them and their words in my mind." "And that mantra is?" "Watch me rise!"
There are tons of such Miro-Tales. You will love them!!!It's just amazing. I really appreciate the author to take time writing such an amazing book. The idea to come up with such Miro-Tales is just amazing. I have lot more to say but I just don't know how to put in words. Read it in one sitting. And I still read it regularly at times when I feel low. A MUST READ FOR ALL!!!
I like reading Micro-tales . They are addictive as they are tiny but provide the deep message at an impulsive punch. I have read the first book : Her by author Reecha Agarwal , This is her second book made in the same trendy way .
A beautifully arranged book of effective snippets that are focused on providing inspiration to women. In each alternative pink and white pages one small story of 3-5 lines tells the changing perspective of women towards the opportunities of this world. You may check it in my stories and more of them on my blog.
They are about stopping the gender based discrimination that are faced by women. The micro tales are woven about importance of education , one's life's ambitions , to work keeping the discouragement put forward by patriarchy influenced society at bay , breaking all chains and achieve dreams, respect and life .
There are like 156+ micro-tales which speak for all women of all ages and cultures , be it a girl child who doesnot get equal values , a educated girl who struggles to get a job in a office dominated by males or a married woman who has been into abusive relationship and never got to have her own identity after all these ages . They put value on need to speak up for ourselves and support the feminism movement.
I find them very catchy , heart touching and written in a witty style .They are quite bold and thought provoking. Few are not that sharp . But altogether a very beautiful creation . It is a small handy book worth grabbing one to read anytime.
A woman has always been at the receiving end of tragedy, humiliation, prejudices, bias, and patriarchy. She has to work extra hard to prove her worth, she has to take an extra step to carve a space exclusive to her, she has to take a giant leap towards imbibing faith and confidence in her own self. This is my second book by the author and I am happy to say that I genuinely liked it.
SHE- Screw Silence! by Reecha Agarwal Goyal is a delightful collection of micro tales on the women, by a woman. The simple but tactfully put words throw light on the crucial subjects concerning a woman - her fight for asserting her identity, her struggle against the rigid mindset of the society, her willful ignorance toward anything that pulls her back, her grit and strength in becoming and achieving what she aspires for. The combination of white and pink pages of the book gives out an amazing vibe that syncs with the content.
It is a book you can go back to, again and again. It does have a charm that keeps you flipping the pages and absorb its meaningful words. Yet I am not entirely in love with the book. Although it's simple and sweet but that's it, it is sweet. It speaks for feminism, it advocates gender equality but it fails to create a unique value for me. I wasn't reading these words for the first time. I have derived similar meaning from other books, from my regular reading of quotes, articles, etc. But I do appreciate the author's attempt at recreating some magic out of simple expressions and that's one reason why you can read this book.
