This book is about how you can excel as a speaker (by profession like keynote speaker, etc). And if you thought you might as well give it a shot as probably you'll find some great ways to hone your speaking skills in general to apply in your day-to-day like your current job, you're wrong! (Even I started this thinking the same). This book is specifically for professional speakers because it does not have any skill enhancement technique, it just gives out ways to MARKET your speaking profession.
It is very common these days for C-suites or internet influencers to write books to generate more revenues and to use it as a marketing channel for one of their businesses. I'm not against it. But PLEASE, O PLEASE add some value to it. Write something that people don't know instead of just putting in FILLERS. Yes! this book is all about fillers- on every page and every chapter.
If you're not looking for marketing your profile as a professional speaker, don't waste your time on this.
Great book! Not for creating a great speech, but for how to operate a speaking business. Full of practical advice on setting fees, winning opportunities and delivering a professional product. Lots of links to resources and worksheets.
This book is pithy, punchy and powerful. In an industry where there is a constant pandemic of low quality advice, Newman's Weapons Grade Wisdom is the glorious exception.
This book is filled with practical, valuable advice for anyone who wants to build a career that includes professional speaking. I especially love David Newman's approach to marketing.
