I have heard about Feng Shui but never knew very much about the concept. This book was an excellent way to learn about Feng Shui and the way to apply it practically in one's home. I'm having fun making changes/additions to my home. I thank Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review this book.

Love the book as well as the author. She explains all the concepts of feng shui in easy and simple terms to follow. Love her tips on decluttering and cleansing rituals to get rid of negative energy to make way for the new positive energy coming into your home and life.

I've made quite a few changes myself already to start the new year on a positive note and I look forward to the positive changes that it will bring.

Helpful introduction but also overwhelming

I enjoyed the first part of the book because Tchi explains the basic concepts of Feng Shui clearly. There are affirmations sprinkled throughout the book that are soothing.

Once I got to the sections listing actual solutions, I got annoyed and overwhelmed. It read like you must live in a home out of a magazine or your life will be filled with problems. It had an all or nothing approach that was overwhelming to me and made me feel helpless and hopeless instead of motivated.

Also her super simple decluttering system seemed unrealistic. She recommends you put things in boxes to keep, get rid of and I don’t know box. If I have boxes of stuff I need to get rid of, or find a new location for or store for six months — It’s just gonna be a pile of box clutter in a new spot. My point is if I knew how to manage my clutter I wouldn’t have it. Her system is better suited for people who already are tidy.

I recommend this book for a beginner’s introduction to feng shui, but you’ll need another book for the finer points.

I have followed Rodika Tchi for many, many years and I like her very much. This book, however, right from the start doesn't sound like her. It doesn't feel like it is her talking at all. Also, I love that she has always mainly focused on the Classic traditional Feng Shui method. I was so happy that she wrote a book and was so excited to read it. When we finally get to the important area of feng shui, the bagua, she or whoever wrote the book switches to the Western bauga because the "Classical bagua, requires somewhat complex feng shui compass readings and calculations, so we will not be using it here." Really?? Sorry, but that is a big disappointment. The book is so basic and not at all the good detail I was hoping for since the author is normally such a wealth of knowledge.

Rodika Tchi shows how to improve wellness by decluttering our homes. She emphasizes sanctifying one's space with rituals and applying the Feng Shui "bagua" map to determine energetic areas in the home. Unlike most decluttering books that want you to buzz through your house with speed, she advocates slowing down, breathing, and checking in with yourself at intervals. Every chapter includes a suggested mindful pause. Simply written and easy to follow.

This book has a lot of great information. The affirmations are a nice bonus, too. I read this book during a free trial of Kindle Unlimited and loved it so much that I decided to buy a hard copy! It's a great book you'll want to refer back to.

This is a good beginners guide to Western feng shui. I’m pleased with the results I’ve felt in the few short weeks of incorporating the simple yet effective practices.

The frequent mindful meditations took me longer to practice than reading the actual text, which was truly a lesson in patience that I ultimately appreciated.

I was hoping to find some sort of list or diagram of easily digestible info on the baguas and techniques to refer back to. If this were provided it would’ve been 5 stars for me.

This is an easy to read guide to understanding Feng Shui in the home, and it is focused on healing. I loved the “and it’s just this easy“ clutter clearing system idea for getting rid of clutter quickly, as well as the six week clutter reboot section. But probably my favorite part of the book is chapter 6 that discusses ongoing self-care and clearing the air in your home to welcome new changes in your home and life. The fact that clutter can have a dramatic affect on our health and the healing process is amazing. This book includes a bunch of little changes that can be made immediately that create a healing effect. I’ve already started clearing clutter and created a large pile of items and scheduled a donation pickup in a few weeks. It’s an easy read and I read one chapter a night and finished it in a week.

VERDICT: Very helpful book to start creating wellness in your home.
With lots of current trends, our Western society is little by little paying more attention to the impact of our local environment on our health and psyche. In this simple guide to Feng Shui, Feng Shui for Healing: A Step-by-Step Guide to Improving Wellness in Your Home Sanctuary, the author offers a practical approach towards uncluttering and general wellness.
The book contains six fairly short chapters. They are very accessible and practical.

This book is wonderful. I found it to be very insightful and reflective. I enjoyed looking at all the ways to create positive flow and energy in my home and I’ve realized. Well I have a lot of work to do to create that environment in my home. This is a great tool to include feng shui into your life for health happiness and healing. I plan to go through it several times as I work on each room to create a house filled with the positive and healing energy I want it to have. I received this book from NetGalley for an an honest review and I highly recommend it.
