Entertaining fantasy listening. 🎵🎶

This kindle e-book novella is from my Kindle Unlimited account. Book one of one.

A new series in the world of Montague and Strong.

This series started slow but ended in a fury of action. The characters are interesting and will developed with lots of action, misdirection, and violence leading to the conclusion.

I would recommend this series and author to readers of fantasy world 🌎 novels. 2024 👒😯🤔😃🎎

Orlando Sanchez delivers an awesome introduction to Ursula and her team with Aftermath. From the beginning this book is an awesome ride. We meet the DAMNED, the team tasked with investigating strange occurrences and maintaining the balance of runic energy in the City. Ursula and her team, Dak and Yoté, protect the Nexus points, fight the Mourn, and are general all around bad - asses. Don't start this book before bedtime if you have anything important to do the next day. You won't want to put it down until you're finished and you'll be asking for more when you're done with Aftermath!

Wow! Just wow!

Orlando spins another fun tale. Ursula is a great female MC who does not play by the usual female tropes, which I love. She is a bad ass and her team and characters are also great. There wasnt much time spent on their back stories, but as the author said at the end of the book, they will get more fleshed out in subsequent books, which made me happy because that means we will get more!

First in a new series, Aftermath is a novella set in the same ‘world’ as the Montague & Strong Detective Agency series by the same author. Although it could be read as a standalone, for a more rounded experience I would still recommend reading those ones first, just to help with the who’s who and where they all fit. This one got off to a slower start than previous ones by the author, but, in hindsight, there was so much new information to impart that I don’t think it could have been handled any differently. When the story really got going, probably about quarter of the way through, it was a non-stop thrill ride until the end. A very original story, even though it’s set in ‘world’ that readers may be familiar with. A selfless heroine and engaging support characters, all with that team spirit that shows a determination to succeed. I am interested to see what will happen next.

ANOTHER Excellent story from Mr. Sanchez!!! Edge of your seat suspense, a story line that keeps building on itself to keep your mind engaged and your fingers turning the pages to keep up!!! The INTRIGUE, the deception, a variety of old and new scary monsters, some favorite characters from previous books, a god or two AND someone lets a big secret slip that increases ALL of the previous characteristics of this book!! and I left out a LOT of good stuff !!
My Kindle was SMOKIN' by the time I finished this book!!
If you're a fan of kick ass, ask questions later, heroines with wicked skills and "toys" to go with them then THIS BOOK IS FOR YOU!!! Charge your e-book because you are not going to want to put it down!

Ursula is a bear shifter, but a magical null too. This makes her idea to be a protector of the Nexus Points hat are being breached my the Mourne. It is her job to lead her team in to defend the breaches and to follow them out again. She has a trainer who is trying to keep her alive until she has perfected herself and her skills. However treachery is afoot and she has to figure out a riddle that Erza...aka..Death has given to her. At least she hopes she does before she is killed in unriddling the riddle. A violent, magical, exciting book that keeps you guessing until the end. Would recommend this new series.

Get ready for another great book!

The latest installment in the M&S universe is amazing. You don’t have to read any of the other books in this vast universe, but why wouldn’t you.

This novel follows a tough female lead who doesn’t stop for anything. She is ready to take on any adversity and she has some really unique supernatural experiences! She hangs out with gods, angels, bears and monsters, sometimes within the span of a few hours.

This is book moves fast so pay attention. The snark comes at you before you know it. The mythology and pop culture references are really amazing. This book is excellent and so much fun!

Why aren’t you reading it already?

The best review you will ever skip over!!

If you are a fan of the boys over at the Montague & Strong Detective Agency, you should enjoy this book.

The writing formula is very similar to M & S, but with enough differences to still be enjoyable. Ursula makes for an interesting character & you are not overwhelmed with back story, which is something I love, because who the hell launches into an origin story when they meet someone? I sure don't, so why would I want that in a book!

Anyways, the action is steady & the story flows smoothly. I can't wait for the next novel in this series, if there is one.

After the Heroes are done, Who protects the city?

Another great start to a new series, set in the World of the Montague & Strong Detective Agency. Learn who protects the city from the creatures, the unknown things that threaten the very fabric of existence. Ursula has made a deal with a god, gained a powerful weapon and her only goal? Protect the Nexus points as only she can. Because if the Mourn Horde gains entrance to our world, all life will end.
Orlando a. Sanchez continues his prolific output of Urban Fantasy novels, a Master Wordweaver in action.

A new branch in the M&S world tree

The world of Montague and Strong is wide and varied. Aftermath allows Ursula, a werebear null and protector of nexus points, to tell at least part of her story. As always, it will make more sense if you’ve read other Montague and Strong books. But Sanchez has a disturbing habit of giving you sips of other stories he hasn’t written yet. You meet characters that appear again later or earlier in the confusing and branching world. This is one character I really want to hear more from. She and her team are interesting and surprising.

Great start to a new series set in the M&S universe. Ursula is a werebear and protector of the Nexus Points in the city. When the Mourn creatures attack the points, Ursula must ask the right questions and give her all to protect not only the points but her team and friends. There are mentions of a destructive trio and meetings with Ezra, so well worth taking an afternoon or evening to read and enjoy this adventure!

O. S takes us one step further into his Montague & Strong universe. Back filling the world/ surrounding the almost done almost always grumpy mage, resistant newbie human immortal and our very, very favorite hellhound. Love his M/S series great humor and always an enjoyable read. Sooooo, you could start with this book if never visited before. Or go read the 9 preceeding M/S tales first. That is if you enjoy a bit of fun with your tea and or coffee. Not to forget the sausage's .

Not keen

I found this difficult to get into. Too much about the natures of the characters was incomprehensible and they were lacking in personality, so I found myself uninvolved. If it hadn’t been for the occasional name-dropping and the use of a couple of characters from the Montague and Strong series, I would not have assumed this came from the same ‘world’ or even the same author.

A new, different perspective from the Peaches-verse, and it was a blast. You get to hear of some of the ramifications from the exploits of the Destructive Trio, but in an entirely new story about a separate group with a differing threat. Adds richness to this verse while following a Protector and her team, usually responsible for cleanup, quell their own monstrous problems. A whole bunch of fun.

When important locations are destroyed, you'd suspect a certain duo (trio?) of private investigators, but when Monty and Strong aren't to blame, team DAMNED find themselves taking on an enemy bent on destroying the most important sources of magical power in the city. Its a race to stop this foe, before irreparable damage is done. A great story set in the familiar Monty and Strong world.

Holy Cow!!

This was an action-packed amazing ride! Ursula is a bad-ass character, but you can tell she cares about the people she lets get close to her. I am looking forward to finding out more about Ursula and gang in the future and to see what threats they are going to face in the future. Thank you Mr. Sanchez, for inviting us into your world once again. Next please!!

DAMNED and loving it

The introduction to the DAMNED crew with this book is beyond belief. If you haven't been introduced to the M&SP world, then you're missing out. Ursula is a great character and i hope we get to know more about her in future books or see more of her in the main M&SP time-line.

Excellent

An excellent story that leaves you wanting more. A great beginning to what I think will be a great series. Our hero learns a lot about who and what she is.. To protect the nexus, she must face a fearsome enemy, one she is not ready for. You will find it very difficult to stop reading once you start.

Good books

I would really recommend the books for a fast read and To take you away from the reality that we are dealing with. I have read all the M & S series and am now getting into the other that Mr Sanchez has written. These are not just for the younger set I am a senior citizen, and truly appreciate and enjoy them. Thank you, Mr. Sanchez.

What a great new series. Ursula is interesting and shows a lot of promise for future stories. I also enjoyed the references to a certain destructive trio - poor Gracie Mansion!
This story definitely breaks the mold for standard, urban fantasy, villains. Go get those Mounds!

Another kinda Boom!

That was a fun read and it ties in well with the rest of the M & S world. Love Ezra, it's even more fun when the power players are involved in the story. Can hardly wait for the next story with all the characters in play.

Aftermath Ursulas Story

I had wondered when we would see her again after being introduced to her in the M&S series. This is a great offshoot to the world of M&S Ursula embodies being a badass and what a team is they are family.

Nice to see a different side of the universe although I missed peaches. Nice to see characters interact with others and how notorious the detective agency is.

Fun smart and violent

A good entry in world building - and it makes the M&S world far more scary and nuts - amused by Ezra as grandpa - a few places where exactly the same phrase is used across books which seems lazy rather than metonymic

Another page turner!

I enjoy learning about the other characters in the M&S series, and characters they certainly are! Their witty convos give my brain a break from not-so-light goings on in the world. Thank you, Orlando!
