The best-selling zombie apocalypse series "Life of the Dead" is now available in one special complete edition containing all 5 books. Over 1,200 pages of reading!
As a plague ravages America and leaves chaos in its wake there's no time to prepare, no chance for last words, messages home, or tearful goodbyes. For the men and women immune to the virus, they have 2 options.
A professional photographer, writer and fan of general weirdness (both real and imagined), Tony has traveled tens of thousands of miles seeking out everything from haunted locations, UFO crash sites and monsters like Bigfoot and the Mothman. In a previous life, he worked in the independent movie industry but he finds his current career much more exciting.
Tony's first writing memory involves penning a short story about taking a road trip with his best friend and his dog (two different creatures) to watch KoKo B Ware in a professional wrestling event in Pittsburgh. He wrote that epic saga while in the 3rd grade and it was all downhill from there. His first books were a series of o)eat travelogues but recently his zombie apocalypse series, "Life of the Dead" has been a bestseller online and grossed out readers all over the world. His ultimate goal in life is to be killed by a monster thought by most to be imaginary. Sasquatch, werewolves, chupacabras, he’s not picky. If that fails, he’d enjoy making a living as a full time writer. Which of those two scenarios is more likely is up to the readers to decide.
Pleasantly surprised to say the least. I am not zombie fan. Got a lil past Walking Dead second season and gave the rest a hard pass. Other than a badish inside joke and pleasant memories spent with high school chums as we played a few zombie themed dnd sessions. Read a few decent but forget able zombie horror short stories.
But this one definitely takes the cake. This one will stick with me as a zombie story done right. I could gush about it. I can talk shit. I can lament over the loss of my two top favs -Shark and Emory-. And laugh at its sappy predictable ending. All fook'in day!
But I honestly don't think I can ever forget both its high and low notes. Thank you so much! For your countless time and effort on this perfectly flawed piece of literature.
Four stars due to some editorial stuff that required second passes at some sentences, and the occasional gender change on a character. Other than that picky silly stuff the story moved along well. The characters were, by and large, sympathetic and acted true to their basics through most of the series. Some grew, some shrank and the world kept right on ending. I would say this is a good read and would suggest it might be something zombie fans, or the post-apocalypse fan would enjoy. I will be keeping an eye out for more of Mr. Urban's work.
At first I was skeptical starting this series, due to the amount of characters that were thrown in the story. I had difficulties remembering them at first, but the more I read, the more I grew to like most of characters. This series was good enough that any bit of free time I had, I was reading. Now that I've finished, I'm a bit depressed. Lol though, I must say, the ending has got to be one of the most perfect endings to a book series that I've ever read. Wim deserved it after all he had been through. Thank you Tony Urban for such a good story.
This was a good end of the world as we know it story. I liked the characters and frankly I liked that a lot of the characters died. In the end of the world the hero couldn’t always live. The reason I went with three stars is because the editing needs BIG improvement. Missing words, wrong tenses, the wrong “to”…just so many things. It was so bad at some points it detracted from the story.
I can’t SAY ENOUGH ABOUT THIS Series each character was so well written you either loved or hated them and cried screamed and laughed along with them. I want more, because I am rarely entertained with a complete series T.Urban went above and beyond my expectations…well done.
Good fictional read. Sure, some things were not believable, but that's fiction for you. Went along with typical zombie plots, but gave you interesting characters to follow. I like books that let your mind dwell on fictional settings instead of your normal life for awhile. Gives your mind a break, I think.
I have read many hundreds (if not thousands) of zombie apocalypse series and this is one of my top five favorites so far! Plenty of everything you look for in these types of stories with spectacular gore, great individual characters and so many twists and turns you'll be hooked to the bitter end!
What a great series it really has its ups and downs and really sucks you in You get a feeling for the characters and either love or hate them. I hope there's more in the future but will definitely be looking for more from Tony Urban
One of the best series I have read, I loved a few of the characters ..Win...Ramey.. Mead and more..but I thoroughly enjoyed this series, can't wait for a continuous or to see the characters in a new story. I will be reading more of this authors books.
The characters look for other Survivors. A different storyline for each character and how the tie in together. I couldn’t put the book down. I look forward to reading another book by this author.
I enjoyed the characters and concept. My only complaint was whoever did the proof reading and editing did a poor job. Huge amount of grammatical errors, punctuation errors and misspelling.
Lots of characters, I almost started a list to help me, but the author always had good reminders when he reintroduced a character. Lots of gore that's easy to skip over. A very good zombie read!
Excellent character's even if I mixed a couple up at one point. Story lines varied and kept me reading until the end..missed quite a few tv series..and with a little twist at the end athouroughly good read.
This has been a great series and a must read. The story was very captivating and I found it very difficult to put down. The characters were very well mingled within the sequential chapters. Much praise to the author for his excellent work.
Pretty good character development and character arc especially for a Zombie Story. A fair amount of good verse bad and an accurate portrayal of the NPC (Non Player Characters) that exist in the world today.
I was not able to put this book down. I loved that each character had a story from the beginning to the end. You rooted them on and hoped for the best. At the end of the book you wanted more. Glad I felt some of the characters were friends.
Had a bit of trouble with so many characters and the story switching story line and characters so often. The ending was great and so totally unexpected.
This was a really good story. Plenty of characters to both love and hate, and since it's a zombie book most come to bad ends. What's keeping me from giving this 4 stars is all the grammatical errors, typos, misspelling, improper punctuation--so horrible editing, the area so many and some are so bad the truly pull you out of the story.
Intense reading! Never a dull moment. Love your descriptive writing style, humor, and character uniqueness. Grew close to the characters and felt like I went through this great story right next to them.
I really enjoyed life of the dead, the complete series, the characters were great and very interesting. Gripped me from the start and could not put it down after that. A very enjoyable read.
