Sometimes the perfect person for you is the one you least expect it to be.
Stone Kensington is no stranger to hard work, and he knows what it takes to make a ranch a success. Determination and grit—something he figures a city girl like Helena Robinson will never have.
Helena left all the shallow and fake people in her life behind to start fresh. She’s not a softie playing rancher as Stone assumes, and it doesn’t take long for her to prove it to him…and so much more.
Stone quickly realizes Helena is not what he thought, and she belongs to him. The only problem is Helena doesn’t believe love and marriage are for her, even though she wants to be with Stone. He’ll have to convince her that he’s for real and what they have will last.
I’m a lover of all things books, a hopeless romantic, and have always had a passion for writing. Between being a sappy romantic, my love of an HEA, my crazy imagination, and ok, let’s be real, my dirty mind, I fell easily into writing romance. I’m a huge baseball fan and yet, a complete girly, girl. I’m an obsessive reader and have a slight (hahaha! Slight? Yeah, right) addiction to signed books. I’m married to my very own book boyfriend, an alpha male with a sexy, sweet side. He is the best inspiration, my biggest supporter and the love of my life. He is also incredibly patient and understanding about the fact that he has to fight the voices in my head for my attention. I hope you enjoy reading my books as much as I enjoyed writing them!
When he shoved his pants down and his cock sprang free, I gasped. Holy shit balls. It was fucking huge. It bounced against his stomach a few times before coming to a stop—pointing directly up at the ceiling. The skin was stretched taut, and the fat head looked purple and…kind of angry. I wasn’t sure that thing was going to fit… I mean, I was a little surprised it hadn’t torn through his jeans like the Hulk.
LMAO.
"Ride a Rancher: Ranchers Only Series" is the story of Helena and Stone.
Another big bad rancher who instantly sees a hot, hymenated city girl looking for a home, and falls head over heels with her. They do a lot of dirty talk, bang like bunnies and have an rainbow and baby filled HEA.
This probably was not a bad book but these plots have become so repetative, they've all started meshing into one. Also, as I soon turn the elderly age of 28, almost every cheesy euphamistic flirtation seen frequently in eroticas now makes me cringe.
3 stars. Quickie review: I listened to this book on audio on the Read Me Romance podcast. This is not a bad book. I probably would have enjoyed it much more if I had read it, instead of listened to the audiobook. But I really dislike this female narrator. I have listened to her books before and she sounds so old that she ruins the book for me every time. She sounds just like Reba McEntire, which is not conducive to romance. The male narrator also was not great, as he drops his sentences off with a weird sad tone, but he would have been tolerable. So I really did not like the audio of this book. But I did enjoy the quick, instalove story.
Who doesn’t love a cowboy! Great quick insta-love story. Stone and Helena meet under less than ideal circumstances. There’s a tiny bit of push pull between them, but all works out. Excited for Maddies story.
3.5 stars. This was a Read Me Romance podcast. It’s a instalove novella. I’m not typically a huge fan, but this one was a little better than most. If you don’t like those then keep looking.
Ok. I understand these RMR novellas are insta-love, cheesy quick reads. But this took insta-love to a whole new level. One second they were finishing up introductions and the next he was humping her on his horse! I feel like other authors have executed the insta-love type of stories a bit better than this one, so unfortunately, I didn't really enjoy this podcast. To me it felt like there was too much missing to enjoy it - backstory, build up, or something. The sex and dirty talk were pretty well executed, but overall this one missed the mark for me.
2.5 - idk this was just too insta love for me. I did too much eye rolling. I think slowed down I could have really enjoyed it - I did like the characters and the setting.
This was my first time reading Elle Christensen and I absolutely loved it. I already purchased the two other "Rancher" titles currently available.
When the ebook was released, I went to the Read Me Romance podcast's previous episodes and listen/read this story all the while with the biggest goofy grin on my face.
Stone is such an alpha and he and Helena are so freaking sexy together, I can't even process it.
"Ride a Rancher" is a short, sweet, steamy story that will have you craving more.
A car listen on a long trip, it was my first Elle Christiansen read & I really enjoyed it.
Having not read the first two interconnected titles, the set up was well done and I felt comfortable from the outset.
The heroine’s inner dialogue / observations had me in my feels one minute and barking out a laugh the next. By the time the hero—rode up on his horse, naturally!—I was all about it.
Straight up, this novella is pure, unadulterated, insta-love, cheesy-in-all-the-best-ways, filthy-dirty-sexy-swoony, cowboy romance goodness.
My suggestion, if this romance subgenre is your catnip, saddle up & ride!
All in all a fun read. My tolerance in asshole behavior has however become minus a thousand. I used to be ok with the whole insulting, rude, jerk commentary at first meeting , just to show how much sass the h has, while at the same time showing how hot the H is, because of course she’d be all hot for him despite his disrespectful actions, and then of course there is the obligatory „mine“ moment to which she naturally has no real resistance. I want my h‘s to demand respect and damn well stick to it and damn it I want my H to give that respect in and out of the bedroom, not just at the end in a cute epilogue, but from the start. But I’m not going to get it from this book so, 3 Stars because the respect was there at the end.
I loved, loved the hero. He was pure fantasy. He also had the perfect dirty mouth. I’m keeping this one. The story did pull me out of my suspension of disbelief by having her lose control of the truck. Not being able to shift gears doesn’t make the brakes or steering go out. Also, she didn’t let them know she wrecked their truck. Lastly, you can’t make gravy in a pot. You can only make gravy in a skillet. There were two epilogues and I didn’t care about either. This was super short and fun. Like a cupcake, but made with that chocolate that has cayenne in it. Also! She’s beautiful and a success at her lawfirm and is a virgin. I’m honestly sick of virgins. The end.
Title: Ride a Rancher Author: Elle Christensen Format: Audio Narrators: Kit Swan and Matthew Maddox Genre: Romance - Cowboy Standalone: Yes Part of a Series: Part of the Ranchers Only Series POv: Helena and Stone Steam Level: Hot 4/5
I listened to this novella on the Read Me Romance podcast. Ride a Rancher was super cute and hella hot. I'm not sure if I've read Elle Christensen before but if not I need to remedy that. I'm a bit bummed that the epilogue is not included in this version but I understand why. I liked the characters and definitely want more.
Helena and Stone's story seems to border on overbearingly controlling and bordering on being a dark romance. Although Helena is aroused by him, he all but kidnapped her when they had just met and the romance in the first two books in the series just wasn't there until about 2/3 of the way through the book. Fortunately it did end happily but it was a rough road to get there.
Awww, Helena & Stone's HEA is spicy & sweet & full of laughs because they bicker like an old married couple from the moment they meet. I also enjoyed getting to touch base with James & Lia, and catch up w/ Rose & Garrison a bit. We ALSO get a peek into the next story, which I always look forward to!
I really enjoyed the story and the characters as well. I would have given it a 5 but the editing errors are pretty glaring. Many instances of the wrong word in a sentence and then some sentences I couldn't even figure out what was trying to be said. Other than that it was a very enjoyable story with a continuation of some of the other characters in the previous books
Method:audiobook Rating:4/5 stars H rating:4/5 - Stone h rating:4/5 - Helena Drama:3/5 Thoughts:Loved this! Will be listening to more RMR podcast stories!
Helena and Stone star in this addition to the Ran hers Only series. Their chemistry burns up the pages from the minute they meet. Instalove, a little drama, alphamale, stubborn heroine and lots of spicy good stuff make up this great story. Great characters and storyline! Loved it!!!!
If parts of the story was meant to be ironic, it did it well, but I don't think that was the case. Too formulatic and predictable but enjoyable to pass the time. The story would lower stars, but the narrators were wonderful, so they alone brought the rating up
Thank you Read Me Romance for having this book on your podcast. It was an amazing story to listen to while driving today. I love the alpha Stone is with the soft sweet side bonus. These two are amazing!
It was just not my thing. Fastest insta-love I have ever read. Male protagonist was so possessive and controlling. (I usually like a little possessiveness, but this was too much.) I just felt so uncomfortable while reading this. Not my cup of tea.
I like cheesy when it’s a good cheesy. Sweet, sappy, hot. This was a laugh-out-loud, roll my eyes cheesy. The dialogue was groan-worthy. I was probably three quarters the way through and I couldn’t make myself finish. It was so bad.
Ride a rancher. Yup that was exactly what happened in this story. Looking for a short read to kill an hour? Then look no more. This will keep you occupied while making you wish you had a rancher of your own.
Listened on the RMR podcast. Helena is visiting her friend when Stone finds her after she hit a fence. He tries to keep his mouth shut but once he kisses her he knows she will be his, she just has to get him on board.
City girl figured out she’s a country girl. Instalove at its fastest. I mean ridiculously fast, which was a bit of a turn off, but the story as a whole is good.
Stone and Helena are smokin hot! This story is steamy. Instant chemistry. I haven't read the other books before this, but I don't feel its necessary to follow this. Great read.
°Virgin heroine/non virgin H °Dual POV °Insta love/lust °No OW drama °Slight OM drama (h's ex fiancé) °OTT possessive jealous hero °No separation °No cheating or scenes with OP °Lackluster epilogue: several months later -married with a baby on the way
