He’s her darkest fantasy. . . After years of struggling, Haven Daly has finally accepted that she’s nuttier than a fruitcake. Why else would she see visions of a beautiful but tormented male every night . . . and actually believe she can talk to him, even feel his touch?  But thanks to those dream journeys, she can paint images nobody else on earth can duplicate. In each brush stroke, she captures the blatant masculinity and raw desire in his eyes that promise he’s coming for her…and soon.   She’s the light that keeps him going. . . Quade Kayrs has already suffered a lifetime of pain and torture. Completely isolated, he kept his sanity  thanks to one beautiful female, a vision with kind emerald eyes. In the end, her soft voice led him out of hell. Now, naked and alone, he’s in a strange world that bears little resemblance to the one he left behind. All he knows is Haven.  All he wants is Haven.  His final mission? To protect her from the evil hunting them both—whether she likes it or not . . . “Spicy romantic interplay; highly recommended.”Library Journal on Vampire’s Faith “Sizzling sex scenes and a memorable cast.”—Publishers Weekly on Claimed “A fast-paced, excitement-filled explosion of action… Zanetti keeps getting better.”—RT Book Reviews on Marked, 4.5 Stars Top Pick

ONE word WOW!!!!!

Hero's Haven was so damn good. OMG I don't know how Rebecca Zanetti does it, but she is amazing. God I love that woman. Every book she writes is gold. Quade and Haven were better than even my expectations, which were super high. The plot was action packed, the banter was hilarious and I loved both Quade and Haven. They were both well developed characters, relatable and very lovable.

Quade was delicious. Sexy, protective, alpha without being annoying, and funny. He was the total package. Quade suffered so much, for so long I was so glad he got his HEA. Gone from this world 100s of years Quade didn't understand modern times. I loved reading about him learning all the new technology and inventions like toothpaste. OMG him eating all the toothpaste, I laughed so hard. Haven was perfect for him. She was smart, sassy, with a touch of vulnerability. Haven's past was heartbreaking and sad. Her adopted parents were crazy assholes and I really wanted them to get some comeuppance. I felt they got off too easy and I wanted them to feel the pain. I know I can get bloodthirsty about some fictional characters but that's me. Haven was talented, independent and most of all a survivor .

Haven and Quade were great together. I felt their relationship had a nice build up, with tons of chemistry. I loved how supportive they both were with each other. They are favorite couple of the new series arc after Rebecca started writing more in the Dark Protector world. I totally flipped the fangirl out when Talen and Dage entered the story. OMG I need more Talen in my life. * HINT HINT * I would love more Talen and the older couples of the series in the up coming books. *HINT HINT* I'm sure I'm not the only one, but the second Talen entered the book I squealed. Then every time he talked, made a smart ass comment or got pissed I was OMG it's Talen OMG.

Truly I am crazy about that man. I don't care that he isn't real. He is to me! Any- fangirl- way the ongoing plot was really good. I loved Hope and Pax. I am so glad that Zane is checking into Pax. I totally melted at the part with Hunter and Haven. What a cutie. I loved every single minute of this book and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one. Grace, Adare and Garrett's books are going to be so damn good I just can't wait!!!!!

Haven thinks she's going insane. Her whole life, she's had dreams of mystical beings and places and now one of the people from her dreams is right in front of her. He's got to be part of her delusion, right? She's definitely lost her mind because Quade. Isn't. Real. Hahahahahaha. As the reader, her resistance to facts was hilarious! And poor Quade had to convince the female who was raised to believe she was human and mentally ill that everything she dreams really exists. There really are magical places and people and she happens to be one of them. And her dreams? She's actually jumping through portals with her mind and Ulric is drawing her to him. It's up to Quade and his brothers to not only protect her, but to put an end to Ulric, once and for all.

I've been waiting for Quade's story ever since Ronan's dimension imploded and I knew his would too. I had to read his story. I needed to know what happened to the male who had lived for so long on his own, slowly going insane, losing his identity little by little. Who would he be when he came back? Would he remember himself and those he loved? With the Seven back together again (although with a few new members to replace the ones who passed), would they finally be able to take out Ulric? ALL of my questions were answered and yet, at the end of this book, I have so many more new ones! Rebecca Zanetti has me absolutely hooked on these dark protectors and I can't wait to get my hands on the next book!

Well, well, well, I rather enjoyed that. I love this world that Zanetti has built, love her alpha male vampires/demons/hybrids that are really just Neanderthals with fangs. What I haven't liked in a few books is the heroines but I'm happy to say I liked Haven. Yes, she did some pushing away, but this time it was justified, she had her own world of hurt that she was struggling with and that's before she gets whacked upside the head with a revelation about who she really is.

The struggle is still on with keeping Ulrich in his own dimension, and without reading the rest of this spin off series you would be lost just starting here.

It was great to catch up with the other characters and sneak peeks at what's still to come .... Grace, Adare, Hope, Pax, and don't even get me started on the cray cray that is Benny ......

Arc received from Netgalley for review.

I’ve read many (if not all) of Rebecca Zanetti’s earlier PNR works, starting with Fated and ending with Marked (including all of the novellas in between). Fated (Dark Protectors, #1) by Rebecca Zanetti Claimed (Dark Protectors, #2) by Rebecca Zanetti Tempted (Dark Protectors, #2.5) by Rebecca Zanetti Hunted (Dark Protectors, #3) by Rebecca Zanetti Consumed (Dark Protectors, #4) by Rebecca Zanetti Provoked (Dark Protectors, #5) by Rebecca Zanetti Twisted (Dark Protectors, #5.5) by Rebecca Zanetti Shadowed (Dark Protectors, #6) by Rebecca Zanetti Tamed (Dark Protectors, #6.5) by Rebecca Zanetti Marked (Dark Protectors, #7) by Rebecca Zanetti See!!! 👀😅👀

Unfortunately, I’m not up to date on her new spin off since “The Great War” and prophecy conclusion in Marked. So it will come as little surprise that I had to take a second to understand all of the connections between the characters in this time period and the preexisting one. However, this did not take away my enjoyment of Hero’s Haven. R.Z. did a great job providing some background for all of the different characters I would have become acquainted with in previous books, without bogging down the story. Having said that, I am even more anxious to greedily get my hands on all the books leading up to this one for it would have only enhanced my 5 STAR⭐️ enjoyment.

Onto the book.

I truly enjoyed Quade and Haven’s story. Their book made me relearn why I fell in love with R.Z.'s writing to begin with. The sexual tension and deadly action are expertly executed by Zanetti’s well thought out and multidimensional characters.

Quade is your typical big, strong, handsome yet tormented hero but with a twist! His adaptability and transition into Haven’s world was fun to read, and kept a perpetual smile on my face.

His alpha personality and possessiveness will make any reader female swoon.

Haven was the perfect MATE to Quade’s SOUL. While she may not have been raised in the arts of fighting and self defense, her street smarts were uniquely her own. And her right brain dominant character was refreshing to explore. She may have started out as a scrappy little nobody, but HER ROLE in this new immortal world she finds herself in is VITAL. Her abilities are unique and her ancestry was new to me in this series, and it was fun seeing R.Z. expand and grow this wonderful world shes created.

When it comes to sexy romantic vampires, R.Z. does it best!

If you’re looking for an imaginative world, with numerous unique characters, and an enticing romance, the Dark Proctors series is where you need to look.

HERO’S HAVEN by Rebecca Zanetti is the eleventh book in the Dark Protectors paranormal romantic suspense series. It worked as a stand-alone novel for me and is the second book that I have read in the series this year. However, I believe reading the previous books would likely add to a reader’s enjoyment of the novel.

The story takes place in several fantasy worlds as well as several western USA states including Montana, Idaho, Wyoming and Utah. Haven Daly dreams of a tormented man every night and thinks she can talk to him. During the day, she paints him and has even got a showing of her art in a gallery. Meanwhile, Quade Kayrs has experienced pain, torture, and isolation for lifetimes. He keeps his sanity through visions of a beautiful woman. Haven is a strong, independent woman who doesn’t easily succumb to heavy-handed protectiveness. Much to her amazement she is also an unusual blend of species making her a target for multiple groups. Meanwhile, Quade is dealing with new technology, family reunions, and a woman who won’t do as he demands.

The story had me hooked quickly and the tension and action as well as the romantic sparks did not let up throughout the book. The main characters are compelling and well developed with clear goals and motivations. The story delivers on the promise of its opening scenes and includes demons, vampires, steamy romance scenes, species hybrids, fae, humor, enemies, other dimensions, murder, kidnappings, brotherhood, vows, family, adoption, humor, the expected alpha males, and so much more.

Overall, I enjoyed this well-written novel and recommend the series to those that enjoy this genre. The plot was engrossing, fast-paced, action-packed, entertaining and thought-provoking. The world-building was intriguing and very visual. The ending was satisfying and intense. I look forward to reading the other books in this series.

Thanks to Kensington Books / Lyrical Underground and Rebecca Zanetti for a digital ARC of this novel via NetGalley and the opportunity to provide an honest review. Opinions are mine alone and are not biased in any way.

Hero's Haven is Quade and Haven's story. I'm so glad Quade has finally come home. It was pretty fun to see him adjust to technology after being away for so long. He's still got that famous Zanetti alpha personality that I love so much.

Haven is one of my more favorite heroines in this series. She's not a fighter at all but that never seemed to be a handicap for her. It's cool to find out what she is and the capabilities that she has. She played such a big role in this book.

This couple was fun. I really loved how he tried to insert his dominance and she just said no. Their banter was entertaining.

I'll never get tired of seeing everyone again in each new book. I just love this world that RZ has created. This is one of those series where I hope we get tons of books but also makes me anxious to see how this is all going to play out with Ulrich.

I'm willing to be patient because we have more Zanetti males to find their mates. Benny is going to be one crazy ride!

What a wild ride.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Wow! I have to say this book was a great story right from the beginning. Loaded with so much action, it would be tough be to bored.
I loved the intense and immediate connection between Haven and Quade. They were the type of characters that just begged to be understood and their spark and heat just blew up the pages. Intense passion and deep understanding was perfectly written for them alone. Both characters were so unique, I felt it right in my soul.
While this is book number 11, I really did not feel that I needed the other 10 stories to help me understand and enjoy this book. The descriptions and fantasy world Zanetti created was in-depth with fast-paced action throughout the story. It was so hard to put down!
I can totally see why so many readers are addicted to this series. Between the hot men and the heated action of all types, this is a book that leaves you craving more! I might just have to pick up a few more in this series!
Rebecca Zanetti adds another unputdownable, non-stop action read with explosive chemistry to her Dark Protectors series.
Haven Daly had resigned to the fact that she wasn’t normal. How else could she explain the dreams of other worlds she so expertly exhibited in her paintings? Or the incredibly handsome man she envisioned she could talk to and practically feel? Then that man appeared before her. Naked. In a snowy field while being attacked by strange men with fangs. It was at that moment that she knew she had completely lost it or her worldview had totally been turned on its axis. She had survived so far, she could find a way to survive in this new crazy world. Right?
“This is real,” he said, his voice guttural and raw. “You have to know. This is real.”
She could only nod. It had to be. Right?
A long time ago, demon-vampire hybrid Quade Kayrs endured an excruciatingly painful ritual to become one of the Seven and sacrificed his life to guard the world against a great evil and the only way to maintain his sanity against the endless torture was to focus on the lovely vision of Haven who after centuries led him back to a world he hardly recognized. He’s only certain of two things: he wants Haven and needs to find his family to help keep evil at bay.
Every time I open a Rebecca Zanetti book I know I’ll be getting all of my favs: a strong heroine, delightful familial bonds, heart stopping action, a hooking plot, a delicious alpha male and scorching sexy times. Hero’s Haven gave me all that and more.
Once back on this world, Quade instantly recognizes Haven as an immortal being (even if she doesn’t know it), AND as his mate. He thought he’d never have one. He knew he’d sacrifice himself for the greater good, but as he acclimates himself to this strange new world (so funny) and while he finds his brothers, he will be her protector.
Of course Haven has options on the latter given that she’s been on her own for a long time and every interaction between them not only helps build their relationship but also ratchets up the sexual tension between them. Yet there are many reasons and circumstances that keep getting in their way. But the romance unfolds in a way that made me savor each word and also want me to reach the end.
I loved reading more about the Seven and past characters. The overall arc keeps getting more and more thrilling and I can’t wait to continue reading this very exciting series.
Hero’s Haven is book #11 of the Dark Protectors series by author Rebecca Zanetti. It is an exciting standalone paranormal romance, told from various points of view with a happy ending.
5 - "Stop being a jackass and bite me…" Stars!
I always love returning to the Dark Protectors universe, it is hands down my all time favourite PNR series. But I did question at the start of this reboot as to whether the author was just going to rehash tropes that had already been used in the original books, I am so glad I was wrong, because although there are similarities there is no escaping the fact that The Seven and the story playing out around them, Ulric and Hope Kyllwood-Kayrs has grabbed me completely.
"You’ve been to my hell… Take me to yours."
Quade Kayrs has been trapped in another world throughout the previous books in this series, he has been through unspeakable things, died a thousand deaths, and given up all hope. The one light has always been the infrequent visits of Haven Daly, artist and another character we learned about in the previous book. Turns out she’s not only a gifted artist, but has a few special talents of her own, and one of them ultimately saves Quade’s life.
He was the first person in her life who saw the real her…
As you would expect with a Zanetti Dark Protectors novel, you get plenty of action, emotion, sexy-times and the inclusion of the original characters (Talen & Dage anyone!) I loved Quade and his addiction to toothpaste. Haven was sassy, not enough to annoy me but she bounced off Quade perfectly, especially when he was trying to learn how things are in the current world compared to what he knew before he left it. Some parts had me giggling like a school girl with her first crush.
Without trying to… he made her feel special.
Loved it, love this series, I think 2020 may be the year I make the time to re-read it from the beginning. Looking forward to October when Guardians Grace, the next book is expected to release (although we also have a 1001 Nights novella to look forward to in the summer!).
I love this world so much. I can't get enough of the Enforcers. This is Quade's story. It promised to be heart wrenching and it was. But the author also gave us a great bit of action, some humor and of course that pesky Karys mating symbol.
I loved Haven's back story. More intrigue was laid for the overarching story line. The whole gang seems to be present and ready for whatever comes next. It was great to see the Enforcers and their mates again. If I have an issue, it is with the familiarity of the story arc. The dream world, and a girl and a guy from the wrong clan, destined to save the world....... very similar to what happened with the first generation of enforcers.
Still loved the story. Can't wait to read more in their world.
Hero’s Haven by Rebecca Zanetti
Dark Protectors book 11. Dark paranormal romance. Best read as part of the series.
Quade, after centuries of protecting the realm and fighting for his life, is finally freed by Haven, who can travels between worlds in her sleep. It’s now his job to protect her from the ultimate enemy.
Lots of characters from prior books. It can stand as a romance on its own but there is so much back story and an overall arc that it’s better if you know some of the story. Haven has been featured in the last several books. This is her story.
As is typically with this series, the men are protective, willing to fight to the death for justice, and a bit overbearing. They do learn to love fully if only after they give a spanking during sex play. The women are independent, smart and just as willing to jump into a fight to protect their family.
A fast, and electrifying read.
Hope, the expected resolution of the entire series, aka world, is still a child. That means potentially a dozen more warriors falling in love and enemies slain before the series concludes. Good thing this author writes an appealing story. I look forward to the next episode.
I received a copy of this book from NetGalley. I also purchased a copy to share.
So I wasn't looking forward to this novella because Quade Karys and his eternity spent in an alternate dimension sacrificing himself to save the world, yawn, all the angst, yawn. But I was pleasantly surprised, this was more about Haven Daly the (apparently) human who has been drawing pictures Quade and the other members of the Seven, plus alternate dimensions, for years.
Haven rescues Quade from the alternate dimension just when he thinks all hope is lost, but Quade's rescue brings the release of the Big Bad Ulric ever closer.
It turns out Haven isn't remotely human, she's a hitherto unknown hybrid, her adoptive parents are religious zealots who think Haven is possessed by a demon and have been hunting her for the past decade, little do they know they have hired a deranged cougar shifter to track her down.
So far and I was loving it, but then Quade defaulted to the domineering, me-right-you-wrong, alpha-hole mentality and I lost interest. Also, isn't it a rule that you can't rely on anything said in the throes of passion? You certainly can't believe a guy when he says he loves you so why should Quade extract a promise to obey him in everything by withholding orgasms?
Anyhoo, when Quade starting laying down the law, and he only wanted to mate Haven so that he could take on her powers and go and rescue the lost Fae/imprison Ulric on his own - talk about a metaphor for marriage taking power away from women! - I lost interest. Also, does it seem to anyone else that Pierce and Ulric are quite frankly more clever and more powerful that the Seven? Just putting it out there ...
Anyway, Quade hits some of my PNR buttons so this was only a three star read for me, others may well adore his manly take-charge nature. Can mad Ben be the next of the Seven to find a mate? And please for the love of all that is holy can we kill/imprison Ulric forever now?
I received a free copy of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley in return for an honest review.
Bumped for release and edited for typos.
Haven finds her Hero💕
Loved returning to the Realm with our Dark Protectors and finding out more about Quade and Haven. I can only imagine the frustration Quade would feel coming to this new world and experiencing everything, in our time with our current technology for the first time and trying to navigate it all while trying to fight the enemy❣️
This story is non stop action and I absolutely loved it😍 I hope we get more as I would love to see Benny find himself a mate, even after he’s proclaimed he’ll be a bachelor for the rest of his life🤪 Thank you to Netgalley, Rebecca and the publisher for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review❤️
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️.5 “Maybe fate had given her a present. Maybe not. Everytime she trusted in her life, it turned out wrong.”✨
.
Haven Daley has lived her entire life thinking she’s crazy. Taking journeys in her dreams, with visions of a tormented male every night. Her only comfort is painting these images she sees, knowing he’s coming for her. Quade Kayrs has lived a lifetime of pain and misery, isolated. Only keeping sane by the vision of a beautiful woman with green eyes. When he finds himself in a strange world, naked and alone, all he knows is Haven. But he has one final mission and he’s going to protect her, whether she likes it or not.✨
.
If you love:
•Dark paranormal romance
•Action packed
•Fast paced
•Steamy Scenes
•Multiple POV
Then this is the book for you!✨
.
I have been reading the Dark Protector series for years now and have enjoyed every single one. Who knew I could enjoy a romance full of vampires, demons, shifters, fairies, hybrids and other dimensions galore. But each book takes you on a journey, as the characters discover, challenge, grow and find love. This series will suck you in and leave you wanting more! And this book was no exception!✨
.
Haven was such a firecracker despite her torturous upbringing. I really enjoyed her character and watching her flourish. Quade was pure alpha. But sweet. Learning about modern times and things like toothpaste. Oh my, those two could be funny. I enjoyed the little bits of humour the author injected. I really love how these books are intertwined so you get to see so many other characters within each book. Another great read from the Dark Protector world. I really need Adare and Grace’s story- I feel like that’s going to have an enemy to lover angsty feel which I love.✨
.
This is Book 11, in the Dark Protectors Series. If you haven’t read any, it’s best to start at the beginning. Plan to binge, because once you start, you won’t want to stop!✨
.
Thank you to the author and netgalley for the advanced copy. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.✨
“He had returned. This world had better be ready.”
5 stars!
OMG, I love this book! It’s action packed and a wild ride from start to finish, I was hooked from the very first moment and struggled to put this one down. It’s exciting, fun and intriguing with fantastic character dynamics and a gorgeous romance, and I loved every little bit of it.
I’m a huge fan of the Dark Protectors series and am loving the direction of this second story arc that began in book #8, shifting the storyline away from the Realm and to the Seven – a secretive, elite group of immortal warriors charged with protecting the world from super-villain, Ulric.
Quade Kayrs (great, great uncle to the original Kayrs boys in the series) is a demon-vampire hybrid and was one of the original Seven. He was chosen to exist in a ‘bubble’ realm created to keep Ulric captive, and he has endured centuries of endless torture, dying over and over again as he works to keep Ulric’s prison intact. His one touchstone has been the soothing glimpses of a beautiful but mysterious woman, Haven, and when his very world began collapsing around him, it is her voice that leads him through to safety.
Haven Daly is a woman on the run from her past. She endured unimaginable torment at the hands of her adopted family who believed she was possessed by a demon. Why else would she have strange visions, and dream of supernatural creatures? Well, it turns out she’s an actual demon… not that she knows that. She now lives her life in hiding, accepting of the fact that there is clearly something wrong with her, and content to follow her feelings as she is pulled in a particular direction, to a man that she has seen only in her dreams, and now, for the first time, in the flesh.
“This is real,” he said, his voice guttural and raw. “You have to know. This is real.”
She could only nod. It had to be. Right?
Quade is back on earth for the first time in over 2,000 years, and the first person he sees is the woman who helped him find his way home. He instantly recognises Haven as a fellow supernatural, and not only that, but as his fated mate. It’s something he thought he’d never have, and as a member of the Seven, it’s not something he thought he’d be allowed to have. But the female is his, and he puts himself in the role of protector as the two of them team up to find his ‘brothers’ in the Seven, all while danger is closing in on them.
There was a time he’d accepted the fate of dying alone on that horrible world. This was another chance to live a different life, one he had not even dared to dream about before. The female had saved him, and now he would save her.
God, I love this story. Quade and Haven are absolutely sensational characters - both with their quirks, which is very understandable given the lives they’ve lived. Quade’s reintroduction to life on earth is so entertaining, and the bickering and bantering between the two of them is so much fun.
She licked her lips, and his eyes flared. “I’m not into the whole alpha male thing.” Not true. Her body was all in. She never should have drunk half a bottle of whiskey. Four steps forward, and she could have her mouth on that hot male skin. “Sorry.”
“Alpha male thing?” He rubbed his cleanly shaven jaw. “Explain.”
“That. That order,” she burst out. “I’m not into guys who think they’re in charge and are all
grrrr.”
He frowned. “I’m not all
grrrr.”
This was getting ridiculous.
“But I am in charge.”
Every interaction between them is underpinned by their sizzling chemistry. As destined mates, it’s hard for them to resist each other, but there are things in the way of them being together, and the push and pull is absolutely delicious! The sexual tension builds brilliantly, and I loved watching them find their way forward in their own unique way.
He paused and looked up at her until she focused on him. “You are worth waiting for, Haven Daley. Someday, when you’re ready, your heart will be mine.”
His words barely computed, but her heart warmed anyway.
He twisted those fingers inside her, sending electricity along every nerve. “For now, your pleasure is.”
It’s sexy and sweet, and the love story develops beautifully, and I loved watching it happen. And it all unfolds amidst much excitement as they constantly fight for their survival against enemies old and new, and I couldn’t flip the pages fast enough.
There is drama and some gorgeous emotion with the long-waited reunion with the Seven, and their meet up with the boys of Realm is awesome, giving us the chance to catch up with characters from the previous books – including earlier in the series – and I loved that so much. The storyline is continuing to build to its exciting climax, with Haven a big part of that, and with books coming for the rest of the Seven, and an intriguing story continuing to develop for little Hope Kayrs-Killwood, I’m so excited for what is to come!
This book is everything that I love about paranormal romance, and I freaking loved it! 5 stars.
Loved this amazing story so much! Couldn't put it down! I only read three books in the series so far. But I had no doubt this one had to be the best! Quade and Haven were one of my favorite HEA couples. Both were so likable, so loving, and so perfect for each other. Together they were unstoppable against the enemies! Loved that Haven's gift of painting was such a magical weapon as well as crucial visions.
There were so many captivating scenes: when Quade reunited with his surviving brothers and families, after thousands of years of suffering alone in hell; when he fought against enemies with modern weapons and won just by using his brain, physical strength and knives plus body armor of the Seven; and the best?; when he won Haven's heart and she agreed at last to be his forever mate. Sharing that beautiful scene:
"I am willing to mate you to handle this problem with Ulric and the lost Fae, but I'm not promising forever."
"If we mate, I'm taking forever . . . You need to understand that right now."
This side of him, so confident and arrogant, drew her in a way she'd have to examine later, because she should be ticked off. Instead, her breath quickened. . . "We'll see." . . .
He leaned back, keeping his hold. "Say yes."
She looked at him, immortal and so damn strong. "Yes."
I'll definitely read the rest of the books in this amazing series!
This book 📖 has now become one of my all time favorite books 📚! I have always loved Rebecca Zanetti’s writing, but this book was special. The storyline, characters and action just clicked for me, and don’t even get me started on Quade!
Quade was amazing, Haven was amazing. The two of them together was perfection! Quade learning how to navigate a new time, and new world was endearing and sometimes funny. Haven, learning her true identity and dealing with her past was sweet and heartbreaking. The two of them letting go and learning to love and trust each other was the best!
This story brings out the cast of characters we have grown to love over the years, Talen, Dage, Hope, The Seven, the mates and so many more. I don’t want to give anything away, bul this book is probably one of my favorite Dark Protectors; and definitely one of my all time faves that I will read and reread! I just didn’t want it to end, but I couldn’t wait to get to the end, what a conundrum! I read this in one day, couldn’t put it down I enjoyed it so much.
Do I recommend? Hell yes, this is a must read in my opinion. It is not really a standalone, because there is an underlying story arc, but you could probably get away with it if you wanted to, but why would you want to? Rebecca Zanetti is one of my top 3 authors! Read all her books! You won’t be disappointed! If you love your demons, vampires and fae; oh my! Pick up this book, because you will get it all!
Perfection! Plain and simple. This book was perfection! 🥂 and happy reading!!!
My Thoughts - 5 out of 5 Unicorns - I loved it!!!
***I choose what I read and review based on what intrigues me!! Yes, I got a review copy of this book, but no one tells me what to think, feel, or write about any book! I have started collecting this series and have 7 of the 11 so far , but still need this one, and I also have several of the novellas too! I have not read them all yet!
The cover is yummy!!
This is the 11th book in this series, but it is only the 4th one I’ve read. This series is already in my heart because I want to own and read them all as well as the Realm Enforcers series. Obviously, you can read them out of order though I bet you love them all even more if you read them all in order. This series is for adults only due to the violent fights where heads are removed and the steamy content with mates! I love the humor infused throughout between mates and the brothers. Always makes me giggle!
Well Quade is free because Haven saved him, but there have been complications. Haven is finally learning about herself, and Quade is learning how mistreated she has been. Quade is learning everything about the world today, and he is still having to battle the cyst and the kurjans along the way. He has found his brothers and family, and now needs to figure out his vows and Haven because he never thought he would have a mate. This is another action packed book with battles, explosions, exorcisms, love, and craziness all around. I loved every word and couldn’t put it down. I can’t wait to see whose story is next!
I highly recommend to all PNR fans because this has a little bit of everything vampires, shifters, demons, fae, witches, fanatics, bad guys, love, and so much more!
Quade is part of a super secret group of warriors that keep Earth protected from the evil Ulric. He has spent centuries in another realm where he has spent his long life being tortured and endured unimaginable horrors. But as a vampire-demon hybrid he kept coming back to life when he died, and so he lived a long time in the hell world he was trapped in. When his world starts to collapse around him it's Haven that helps him escape and bring him to Earth.
Haven's adoptive parents thought there was something seriously evil about her because of the visions she had and her nightmares. They treated her so badly, I really felt bad for her. But she had visions of Quade for years and never knew whether he was real or a figment of her imagination.
Quade thought he would die all alone in the realm he had been for so long, but Haven somehow comes to him and pulls him to Earth when she wakes from her nightmare. Something inside Haven pulls her to where he is and when she spots him, she believes him to be a delusion. She thinks she's crazy as hell and thinks everything that happens for a time is just in her mind until he finally convinces her of everything he's been telling her.
Of course there's more than one bad guy after them which makes it harder for his family to track him down since Quade and Haven to keep moving. But once his family did find them we see some characters from previous books which was nice. These characters all have great personalities but I especially like Hope who is one of the kids and I have a feeling she'll be quite the character as she gets older.
This book is filled with danger, action, excitement and romance. I've only read a few books in this series but I love these books. I might be reading them out of order but I will get around to reading them all at some point.
Disclosure: I was given a free ARC of this book via NetGalley but all opinions and thoughts are my own.
Once Haven and Quade decided they weren’t delusional and insane, things started coming together in a wild way! Their snarky banter built up the sizzling attraction and delivered as promised!
I also loved seeing the Logan, Garrett, Dage, and Talen-haha, Talen is a complete throwback, but I love him to pieces! I’m now wondering who’s up next and what’s in store for this motley crew!
I’ve pretty much been looking forward to Quade’s book ever since The Seven were introduced to the series. And he did not disappoint! And neither did Haven, both of them fought their mating till the bitter end but it was so very entertaining to watch them resist. They both had hard lives, neither believing that love or ‘mating’ was in the cards for them but once they started to trust each other it helped them find their way to a HEA. Very much enjoyed this couple, they couldn’t have been more different yet they found a way to compromise and work together (Though Quade fought it till the very end lol)
This series gets more intense with each new book. The big fight is coming and you feel it in each book more then the last. This one was full of action and humour which I always love. And we got lots of time with some favourite characters from previous books. Really hoping we get more books focusing on the Fae, I find them really fascinating and think they have so many stories to tell. Excited for the next book! I can’t decide if I want Garrett or Benny more. Either way I know I’ll enjoy it!
Hot and sizzling sexy, Hero’s Haven takes the reader on amazing paranormal romance ride.
Quade is a sexy, uber protective, alpha male. Stuck in an alternate world, for a crap ton of years, Quade has suffered a bleak and torturous existence. So, he is certainly due some happiness.
Haven has been having visions for years. Hiding from her crazy as heck adoptive parents, who want to cleanse her sinful soul, Haven has been on the run until she comes face to face with one of her impossible visions…Quade.
Rebecca Zanetti writes a great paranormal romance. The chemistry sizzles and the relationship build at a great, believable pace… And, Quade and Haven make a wonderful couple that you can’t help but get behind. There was an intensity between these two characters that just can’t be denied and with their pasts, you didn’t doubt they were meant for each other.
Eleven books in, and this series is still going strong!
I received this copy of Hero's Haven from Kensington Books - Lyrical Press. This is my honest and voluntary review.
I have read this entire series and have really enjoyed it. This is Quade and Haven's story... For readers of the series, Quade is one of the Seven, the one who wants to kill Ulric. For reader's who haven't read the series I would suggest reading it from the beginning so that you can follow the timeline of the search for Ulric and the story of the Seven and the Keys.
It's a great read, lots of romance, of course, but the main plot of the series is very interesting. Readers of Fantasy would enjoy this books as well as readers of romance.
Thanks you NetGalley and the publisher for this book.
I enjoyed this book so much more than the last one in the series!
Quade finally returns to earth and I love, love, love that it's the heroine who rescues him rather than one of his friends. We found out in Alpha's Promise that Haven was somehow meeting with Quade telepathically in the dimension where he was trapped. Well, turns out, not only does she have the power to visit other worlds, she has some abilities to manipulate those worlds as well.
Haven has spent her whole life considering herself crazy, but when Quade turns out to be very real, it sparks a major awakening in her. I loved watching her grow in her self-esteem and confidence. She is powerful in her own right, but not in a traditional way. She is special...unique. And she has a lot of baggage to deal with from her past at the same time she is dealing with some real danger from people hunting her in the present.
Quade was surprisingly funny. The guy has been away from earth for centuries so he's got a lot to learn. I loved the running joke about how he loved toothpaste. Not to mention his reaction to everything from clothes, to cars, to The Bachelor.
The book touches on some of the major series arcs like the problems with the Kurjans/Cyst, the conflict between the Seven and the heroes of the Realm, and of course, Hope, Drake, and Paxton.
The only thing that detracted for me was the far too familiar vein of forced dominance, spanking, and withholding orgasm...which reappears in every one of these books. I guess someone out there likes it... I'm just not that someone.
Otherwise, a solid installment. Can't wait to see where the series goes next.
I was so excited to finally read Quade’s story. Having been trapped in a parallel dimension for centuries, Quade Karys is released back to this plane. He is not sure how it happened but he knows that he was rescued by a beautiful woman. Artist Haven Daly has been running for years. When she stumbles across a man that she has been painting for years. On the run, these two learn a lot each other and what they are willing to risk to have a chance at love. Quade is hilarious and his having to learn about the present world is funny and sad at the same time. Haven is skittish and trusts no one. Together they are superb!
Can't believe I forgot to rate & review this one!
There were a couple of places that dragged just a bit for me but all and all it was a fun read.
Loved the mc's. Haven and Quade were awesome characters.
It was fun getting back into this series and it didn't let me down.
Plenty of suspense and action. And Quade's affinity for minty toothpaste had me grinning and laughing OFTEN! Especially when Haven would catch him.
It was great to see all the other characters again.
OH, and lets not forget about the steamy scenes! 🔥🔥🔥
Definitely an adult Fantasy/PNR series.
Looking forward to reading the next. Just don't know when I will be able to get to it.
