There's a reason the snowman on the cover of this inspirational romance looks so happy -- this story is so much fun it's grin-inducing! I want to be stranded for the holidays too!!!! Romantic comedy moments mesh with tender, heartfelt ones are what make for some literary Christmas magic.

Yes, it's true, Jonas is as swoonworthy as they come. AnnaBeth recognizes that right from the start. "God's Cowboy Gift to Women" and that he comes with his very own "mini-me cowboy" (p 19) just makes it all the more perfect. Of course, this cowboy comes with a few issues which present in a somewhat grumpy demeanor and for some strange reason he works really hard to remain impassive when AnnaBeth is around. That's hard to do though because she's "as perky and bubbly as a brand-new pup. And about as much trouble." (p 27) You can see the problem here, right? With AnnaBeth trying not to swoon and Jonas struggling to maintain a stoic neutrality? Add in a little boy with his heart set on a mommy for Christmas and an outbreak of matchmakers scheming and, well, you get a healthy dose of Christmas cheer (and toe-curls!) Sweet perfection of a holiday read!

The Harlequin Love Inspired book, Stranded for the Holidays, is a fun quick read. It's the story of Anna Beth Cummings who, instead of going through with her wedding, decides to make a getaway. She is rescued from a snowstorm and ends up staying at Field Stone Ranch in Truelove until her car is fixed. She gets to know Jonas Stone, his young son Hunter, and his mom Deirdre. She learns about their family and discovers some things about her own. This book is a feel good read with a religious component.

Really a very good bookm the characters are well written and their stories tug at your heart strings. I love this true love matchmakers series. A great part about this book was the love story between the main characters and their respective families.

This is the perfect book for the person that wants a predictable G-rated Christ driven story of love and predestination. It is upbeat and sweet, with plenty of lighthearted moments.

There is some great religious insight to the person versed in the parables of Jesus.

Ultimately, the areas where it fell short included originality, depth of thought, and ultimately, the fact that true love and deep relationships can and should be forged with a few quick whirlwind days of romance. It's over-cheesy. It's cliche after cliche about religion, love, and redheads. And so predictable that the end can be foreshadowed by page 2.

That said, it has its place. For the person who wants a cozy Protestant-based winter read without fear of being triggered by surprise twists or adult content, or a short romance novel that can be completed in a long plane flight, it would be a perfect book.

Don't expect any intellectual challenges here, but to be fair, that was likely not the author's intent. This book is full of snowy-day-after-countryside-church-service-to-be-read-with-cocoa-under-a-crocheted-blanket vibes. No more, no less.

Stranded for the Holidays is a sweet, inspirational, Christmas romance. I read it in one sitting and was moved to tears at the end of the book. Jonas and AnnaBeth both had insecurities they needed to overcome in order to find their happily ever after. And Jonas's son, Hunter, was so cute! Although, I admit that reading his lisp ("Dat's the only ding I want for Christmas, Santa.") got a little annoying. And it seemed to come and go. But all in all, it was a pleasant way to pass the time.

I LOVED this book by Lisa Carter! AnnaBeth Cummings is running from the alter, straight into little Hunter Stone's Santa wish for a mommy for Christmas! Poor Jonas isn't sure just what is happening to him! I have to admit, I laughed out loud part of the time, and shed a tear or two before the end of the story! Great characters, storyline, and finish!

Mom and I found it funny that the two Christmas books we picked up this year had the same premises. (Mom and I also read the Master Fiddler which started out some what with the same premises. However this book definitely has more Christmas themes running through, which to be fair is not hard considering that the other book has no mention of Christmas in it. Mom also had a deeper love for the hero and heroine who seemed far more in depth and it also helps that there is no hint of woman belittling each other.) I guess what mom and I are trying to sum up is that we far preferred this book to Master Fiddler, and may even make it a Christmas staple.
The biggest beautiful thing in this romance is the child. He truly felt like a child. He wanted a mommy for Christmas and than they find a lady, in the snow, with a bow on her head. Of course he would think God, (Yes this book is very much Christian), or Santa dropped this woman of as a present for Christmas.
The misunderstanding felt like a good one and the way it was dissolved was just so cinnamon rolly that mom nearly head a sugar comatose.
A truly beautiful read.

Much too preachy for my taste. Present from my husband for Christmas, guess I should tell him to skip the "Love Inspired" titles.

Despite the fact that Jonas was an ass, this was a good book. I loved all of the other characters and what a lovely setting.
