He saved me from dying at a freaking party. Thomas Dixon. The firefighter who swept me off my feet. Strong arms, quick-witted, and scorchingly hot. But another nightmare followed right after I was rescued. Debt. And he's offering to save me again. The plan is simple. We'd live together...temporarily, of course. With a clear set of rules. No sleeping in the same bed. No long hugs. And definitely no cute names. Something tells me these rules won't stick. My fragile heart can't ignore his heated touch. The distance between us is brutal. I shouldn't give in. But if I do... Then he might just be the hottest mistake I'll ever make.
This book was enjoyable. Just what I needed, a light easy read with some spice! I appreciated Lori and her headstrong approach to getting her life back on the track she always wanted. Though she went through something terrible with her crappy ex boyfriend and her dad being an unsupportive hard ass, she learned how to do things on her own. Making decisions that would allow her to help herself. Thomas, a sexy firefighter, not only saved her life but helped her while going through a tough situation. Though he was a bit of a jerk, he grew and realized that it’s okay to seek out professional mental health. A true sweetheart but past trauma that caused him to be grumpy. Their sexual tension was definitely high and engaging. However the writing wasn’t the best. I came across quite a few errors that should have been corrected when editing. No matter, I will be reading book two!
This was a good read. Thomas is a firefighter and he meets Lori while on a call to save her. Thomas is a troubles soul. He spends a decent amount of time trying to get over something from his past. While he is dealing with this Lori has her own stuff to deal with. Luckily in the end they both get it all worked out.
This is the first book by this Author that I have read a good story, but for me the ending needed to be a little longer. Firefighter Thomas Dixon, and Lori Westwell a college student both have trauma that has happened in their lives that they have to get over. I will be looking at what else this Author has put out and see how her other books end. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is just a nice romance with some hot sex thrown in, it does cover a few issues and highlights how useful therapy can be and that help is out there. It also highlights that post traumatic stress disorder can be caused by numerous things that happen in everyday life. There are numerous grammatical errors that can be annoying and should be corrected by good editors. It's an okay read nothing special just a simple romance with a few issues thrown in.
I loved this book. It didn't get bogged down and wasn't overly descriptive of every single moment as the first story I read by this author was. That may be due to there being another author helping to write this book. There are minor edit errors, but it doesn't detract from the story. My only problem is timeliness were a little confusing. First it appears to take place within days, then weeks, then months. It's not clear. Thomas is a firefighter who suffers guilt over allowing a child killer to commit suicide. He isn't coping, though he thinks he is, and his boss puts him on light duties until he agrees to speak with a therapist. Lori had goals once but succumbs to a controlling boyfriend who would do anything to ensure she stays his. Lori's family stop paying for her education and apartment as a blackmail attempt to get her to do what they want but Lori is a resourceful person. After saving Lori's life, Thomas becomes involved with her, offering her a place to stay while she gets back on her feet. There is a connection between them, but both need to get their own lives in order first. Can two broken people make a relationship work?

Thomas is a first responder in the fire department but struggling. The story starts with Thomas being reprimanded by his chief for skipping duty for a week however while on his last shift before being on mandatory leave he's placed in a situation to save a young girls life. Lori is the young girl, drugged and near death. Things get worse for Lori after her recovery as her parents cut her off. Thomas lends his support and Lori excepts. Thier friendship grows to more but not without complications. Can they both overcome thier problems and come together or will their relization of love be too late to hurdle their agruments. This is the first book I've read by R.A. Black and J.C. Allen and I have to say it was a good read. There are a few grammitcal errors and I would have loved an epilogue that told more of their futures. Opinions are my own and unbiased in this review after reading this book borrowed from Kindle Unlimited.
3 stars for Burn For Me by R.A. Black and J.C. Allen. Thomas is a fireman who is need of therapy for something he experienced while on the job. Lori is a college student studying phycology. She is drugged by her boyfriend and need to be saved. In come Thomas on his last call before he is forced to seek therapy. When he sees Lori he knows she is beautiful and in need of help. These two butt heads at first but soon realize they are attracted top each other. I will say that I felt like Thomas was an asshole for most of the book, however he does make up for it in the end. This was an ok short book that is worth reading. It has romance , drama and some suspense everything I like in a story .
Thomas and Lori have an okay story. The plot is unique enough and there are a few good steamy scenes.
I went three stars because Thomas and Lori are both really immature and I hated most of their decisions. He tends to be a jerk when things aren't going his way, especially about psychology (which is her major), and she jumps to conclusions and overreacts about so many things. I wanted to like them but I just couldn't relate to their decisions and therefore couldn't get into the story. If they'd made better choices, I would've given a higher rating because, although there are some typos, the writing is good.
I have to say I really liked this author. The story itself was pretty action packed, and had a good tone. If I had any complaint it’s that the story ended way too fast. Is there a part 2 that goes with it? What happened with her friends? Or her? Or the guy? I did love the fact that there was a story that developed.
Spoilers* I love that Lori and Thomas got together in the end I loved that light was shed on ptsd and that there are counseling options available. With the ending being so abrupt, and no close I’m giving 4 out of 5 stars.
This is an emotional read. Thomas a first responder with PTSD. Lori s spoiled rich girl. Thomas meets Lori by accident where Lori’s ex drugged her. They go through so much in their relationship. These two authors knows how to keep your attention. Was not disappointed in this book. I will be reading more from them. Keep them coming
There are a lot of things I live about this book but I have to say it’s kind of slow in parts. Thomas is a firefighter that is suffering from ptsd and Lori is a college girl that makes a mistake. The two find comfort in each other but go through lots of ups and downs.

Burning for her, is a bundle about firefighters. This series contains three stories: Burn for me, Ache for me and Crave for me. Ache for me is about Sabrina and Kevin, Crave for me is about Katie and Chris and Burn for me is about Thomas and Lori, who both have things to deal with. A wonderful series.

He was the first responder that saved her life She was a college student studying psychology. And the sparks start to fly immediately. But there was a secret in his recent past and she was the victim of a controlling abusive boyfriend. These two have problems to solve before their hea happens.
Very well written, hot sexy firefighter and a hot chic both going through hell , therapy help for one and understanding for the second. Really life , real situation, must read .
Holy smokes this book was absolutely fantastic and the storyline flowed from the beginning until the end. It was such an emotional roller coaster ride and filled I couldn't put it down. Loved it.
I ran across this book by accident but was interested by the short write up. It didn't prepare me for the emotions within the story or how they were so real. You had me in tears several times. Highly recommend this book....written by Cindy
This book was hot and steamy. I love the characters!!! The hot fireman is always a good time!! I loved her friends and How much they all cared for each other. Can't wait to read more by this author.
I know it is a steamy romance but I really expected more. Firefighters are a strange lot. They put their lives on the line everyday. I really thought the other men would have more "input" into the story.
such a great book great story line I'm waiting to get the next one in the lineup I received this book free to give my honest opinion which I always do even if the book is free
