Captive of the Hive

Rate this book
Commander Natasha Sutton never expected to find anything. Routine reconnaissance was supposed to be, well, routine. Asteroids, comets, and maybe a semi-hospitable planet if she was very lucky.

She certainly never planned on discovering the Hive.

Taken captive by a race of ravenous, hive-minded insects, Natasha soon discovers that the aliens have plans for her. She’s not going to be their next meal; she’s going to be their Queen.

Unfortunately, even among the Hive, a queen’s most important duty is to produce heirs.

This "out of this world" story is out there...

I don't want to spoil anything, but... this is listed as book 1 because it is not a 'happily for now' much less a 'happily ever after', rather this is an intense, and somewhat unexpected 'scene setter' heavy on unique world building. It reads like a prolonged scene more than a traditional short story, leaving me ready to turn the page with hopes the next chapter will... either set me on more familiar ground, or affirm a picked up something that is further afield than I tend to read.
