This is very much my opinion!

I wasn’t a fan of how Draco and Hermione were portrayed in this fanfic. It could be that I’m not used to reading Draco as a scared 17 year old boy. Even though I’m aware he is one when all of this went down. Hermione was selfish and reckless, again not what I’m used to.

The amount of times Draco cries is surprising. For a lack of a better word he acted like a wimp in this story. He spent most of the novel in hiding and crying. The one time he tried to do something heroic he was caught instantly by snatchers. To me Draco is calculated and fast on his feet. I didn’t see that much in this version of him.

I understand why the author followed the original plot of the story. Hermione did everything she was seen doing like hunting horcruxes and getting basilisk fangs. Except in this version she was pregnant. I cannot picture 36 week pregnant Hermione in the final battle putting her child in danger.

Also this book followed closely to the original story, that being said there wasn’t much world building. It felt cut and dry simply showing dialogue between the characters. It didn’t feel as believable as other Dramione fics I’ve read.

So many cute scenes in this story, its nice to see the softer side of Draco once in a while. I loved that Ron was made the godfather. The beginning of this fic made me fall in love with it, specifically this moment.

Hermione shook his shoulder gently, whispering his name. He groaned and turned away, curling into a ball. Unfortunately, this meant that Hermione was now facing, not Draco’s back, but rather, his backside.
Feeling momentarily evil, or, as Draco would put it, naughty, she reached out and pinched it. Draco gave a light yelp and whipped around to face her.
“What the hell, Granger?” The blond boy scowled and swatted her hand away.
“Just looking for the fastest way to wake you up is all.” Hermione gave her sweetest smile and sauntered toward the bathroom. She was about to close the door when Draco shoved past her and shut himself in the bathroom, instead. “Oi! What gives?”
“If you’re going to lay claim to my arse, then I will lay claim to the loo,” Draco called through the door

This fic was very similar to Isolation by Bex-Chan, but gave my everything I was missing in Isolation. I loved that Draco and Hermione acted like real teenagers in every aspect. I laughed, I cried. Would definitely read again.

¿Qué me gustó?

I really wanted to like the story, but it felt very boring and juvenile. Nothing happened, there is no worldbuilding beyond "romance". The beginning had a lot of Isolation vibes. After they separate, the vast majority of the book is internal monologue and is tiresome.

I wanted to get to the part where Draco finds out about the pregnancy to see if it got better but no.

Towards the end, the fic didn't get any better.

I expected it to be dark story, angst with focus on Draco dealing with the nightmarish consequences of his actions and on warming up to Hermione and helping her side to defeat Voldemort. Well, I must say that my expectations were met only at the beginning when Draco is broken and presented as person with many human flaws. He is shown as someone who is also weak, who hit his lowest point of life and is lost what to do repair his life that is in pieces. The way his human side is manifested made this fanfic a little bit different from other readings that I did.

I enjoyed how Draco and Hermione got close, how she got under his skin by showing her caring side, how he let go of his mask and started being attentive to her. I was thrilled reading how he built great relationship with Weasley family and how he grew as a person, but I was caught off guard when the focus of the story turned to But once I got used to that idea, I started to enjoy it tremendeously and I was happy seing Draco trying to play active role once they reconciled. Bonus points for Draco saving Hermione´s life by doing that body reparatory magic.
