A bit of a mixed bag, but overall I liked it. Like any collection, especially of "Golden Age" Sci-Fi, I loved some, liked most, and found a couple of the stories disappointing.

And even though I ended up skimming the latter part of a couple of them, there weren't any that I out and out quit reading. Which in itself is quite a recommendation.

Many different kinds of apocalypses, and even on the so-so ones, the idea were interesting.

If you like Golden Age Sci-Fi and/or Apocalyptic stories, I recommend this.

I noticed about half way through that each writer in the book had exactly two stories. Some of them were from the 1930s so they were a bit dated. Most were also Post-Apocalypse instead of Apocalypse. The last story "Mother to the World" wasn't really about the Apocalypse but it was the background. A very sweet and human story.

Good stories

The stories in this collection are good, but if you are bothered by typos then beware. Like many MEGAPACK collections it seems little attention is paid to misspellings and punctuation.

I didn't see any classics in here but the anthology is very entertaining. I would recommend as a casual read for those who like somewhat somber themes.
