Segunda oportunidad, lectura corta y entretenida
POP de Megan Wade serie Sweet Curves libro 3
Mí humilde opinión:
Luna Trey trabaja en Pop, la cafetería de su familia. Tiene veintidós y aún está soltera.
Ella espera algo más que atender el negocio en un pueblo pequeño y también espera a alguien.
El chico de la motocicleta.
El chico malo tatuado Derek Star que le dio su primer beso a los diesiseis y se fue del pueblo hace seis años.
Entonces escucha el rugido de un motor venir por el camino y quizás esta vez sea él que regresa por ella...
Derek Star besó a Luna y en ese momento me di cuenta de que era el adecuado para ella.

Esta es la historia de Derek y Luna Star, estos dos son mencionados en la serie Wedded curves libro 3 y ahora conozco cómo se conocieron estos dos.
La pareja tuvo mucha química, también fue linda, me gustó lo de la estrella y la luna y ese flashbacks del cumpleaños 16 de Luna.
Odié al hermano, qué idiota controlador.
Los epilogos también me gustaron mucho.
Voy recalcar que no es necesario tanto sexo en un libro, está autora tira todas la artillería pesada en sus historias y me gustaría más desarrollo en la relación de los personajes y la historia. Sería perfecto si hiciera eso la verdad.
Esta fue una historia bastante sólida, me gustó este del chico malo y la chica buena. Muy cliché pero fue entretenido para esas noches aburridas.
Lectura simple, dulce y humeante!

This was boring and I was pretty disappointed.
Derek was 19 and Luna was 16 when he gave her her first kiss and then he left town. He shows up 6 years later and wants to claim her again. His excuse was that he “wasn’t enough for her” so he had to go make something of himself. Now that he has, he came back for her.
...and Luna immediately takes him back without even a single apology from him, no groveling happened, not a damn thing. Just an okay, sure, I’ve always loved you and she basically walks away from her family 5 minutes after Derek returned and leaves with him. What the fuck is that shit?
I even skimmed through the sex scenes. She’s a virgin, saved herself for him apparently, but nowhere did it mention that he wasn’t with other women during their time apart. Meh, I dunno.
And again, another curvy girl story where her “soft curves” are mentioned like a one and done. No.
This one was not for me. Hoping the next story in this series is better.

Always known as the bad boy in town, rode a motorcycle and was expelled from school before he could graduate but now a successful business man he’s back to claim what’s his namely Luna. This installment didn't resonate to me as much as the first two books in the series. There wasn't anything wrong with the story or writing, it just wasn't my style. Insta-love is one thing, I can handle it, but insta-relationship is another. There just wasn't any conflict, Bam, they were together. I just found that a little boring. Plus if she called him "my king" one more time I was going to bang my head against a wall. That is just not an endearment I can read without cringing.

Una agradable sorpresa. No es esperaba que me gustara como lo hizo, convirtió un rato en una delicia, en gran aprte gracias a Drake que me parece de lo más mono. Es el hombre perfecto.

Luna is working at a diner and watching life pass her having day dreams and just working pretty much what she been doing for the past 6 years. Until a blast from the past comes back into town. Derek is the "bad boy" but honestly he wasnt even bad he was just labeled that. He is back in town to get his girl back.
After 6 years of building his career he is going to take his woman and give her the life she deserves. Only problem they have is her brother who is overprotective and a guy Derek hates since he was the reason he was painted "bad boy".
Its a fluffy short read :)

Better
This was better than Pumpkin for sure. It actually had some really good romantic parts that have convince me that this author could write really good full length contemporary romances that have more substance. This series is not completely horrible cause these kind of quickie reads have their place but I would love to see a fully flushed out story by her one day.

Pop is book three in the sweet curves series. This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable. Derek has wanted Luna for years. After one kiss, he walked away to become the man she deserves. Years later and a successful man, he returns for his girl. Will Luna agree to be Derek’s woman?
The chemistry between Luna and Derek is clear to see and I liked them as a couple.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.
The storyline for this book is easy to follow and it is an enjoyable read.

Cute story about Derek and Luna. He has wanted her for the last 6 years after their first kiss. The chemistry between them was so good. This is a quick second chance romance that will have you smiling by the time you are done. I have read several books from Megan Wade and I really enjoy each one and I can’t wait to read more of her work.

So I'm not really sure why this is titled Pop but it's a cute little short story. Bad boy made good comes back to claim his only love. Instalove and second chance rolled into one. Happily Ever After with an epilogue 5 years out. No cheating, no others after meeting, dual virgins, babies and no abuse of any kind.

I found this quick hottish installment somewhat less well rounded (no pun intended !!) than both previous books on this series. The story was cute, an old romantic interest comming back for his girl, but I was not sold into it, it lacked that magical quality that makes you not really care when the story makes no sense...
Overall, it was an ok read, still, I would probably only recommend book #1 from this series.

Megan is a new, to me, author and this little gem she wrote is instalove perfection with plenty of steam to warm you up on a chilly winter night.
This is a short, sweet, safe, and oh so hot read about two souls that get reunited when the time is right and get to live out their happily ever after.
I enjoyed it and will be reading more of Megan’s works.

More a 2.5, but still Cute!
I'm not as fond of this particular series as I am of the Whisper Valley connected books. Cocktails & Curves is where I'm at right now, which I think is the beginning of those and I like them better.
And because explaining what didn't work for me here would definitely spoil things, the rest is hidden. But know that this was still cute... and I am still going to read the next one because the blurb at the end of this book intrigued me a little. But... we'll see if I keep going after that.

I think I started this series because it featured curvy, plus size women as the heroines and I was tired of reading about only skinny women getting the guy. However, I think I must be bored with them at this point.
The heroine, Luna, doesn't seem to have an self worth or substance. I realize it's meant to be a quick read (I finished in an hour) but I still feel like there could have been more. Luna has let her brother Daniel control her for years and seemed more than happy to let Derek step in and be her new authority.
Derek left six years before the book starts and seems obsessed with the fact of hoping that Luna waited for him while he was gone. This wouldn't be so bad if it was just a "I hope she isn't dating anyone" sort of waiting but it's all about her virginity. It's kind of unspoken that he wasn't a virgin upon meeting Luna and for him to be so concerned with if she saved herself for the six years he up and vanished coupled with how he gets all possessive once he's finally with her just screams toxic masculinity. Like all the worth he gives Luna is in the fact that she's untouched and that one kiss he shared with her six years ago made him realize that she was his person and he was hers. But the problem lies in that he more than declares she's his but it's barely talked about that he's hers as well. If you're going to write about ownership, it should go both ways. Don't get me wrong, I don't mind an Alpha male but I just think Megan Wade is missing the mark on it. I much prefer Susan Stoker for Alpha male characters.
This is a fast read, easily read in a day. It's free under Kindle Unlimited but aside from the one other I have checked out on my Kindle, I'm not sure I will continue. This one was the first that the characters weren't grossly age-gapped. At least Derek is only 3 years older as opposed to the last two books where the male was 10+ years older. I'm not saying that age gaps are bad, but since these are books that are centered around plus-size, curvy women and have a big beautiful woman and the lead, it kind of seems like the author is saying that only someone way older will appreciate that body type of female and I refuse to believe that.
Story aside and the issues that may just be my own, there were a few typos and grammatical errors littered throughout this book which for me are a turnoff.

Luna is stuck in her small home town running the family diner with her older brother. The town is slowly dying and so is the diner, but for the regulars. At twenty-two this is not the life she wanted as she has always dreamed of being an artist.
Derek is twenty-five years old and also grew up in the same small town. But his life was definitely worse as his parents were divorced and he was a kid with a rebel kid with a bad attitude. He never finished high school because he was expelled during this senior year from vandalism that was actually done by Luna's older brother, Daniel. However, Derek was hired by Luna's father to work in the diner and he planned on getting revenge on Daniel by taking what was dearest to him, Luna. It seems Daniel had warned every male off Luna and continued to be protective of her to the point where her one and only kiss was from Derek on the night of her sixteenth birthday party at the diner, which had been closed for the private celebration. That one kiss changed Derek deep down and he left town that night to make something of himself and prove that he was worthy of Luna's love.
It is now six years later and Derek comes riding back into town to purchase the custom biker builder business that is located locally and also to claim Luna. He has worked hard over the last six years and took what he loved, bikes and working on them, and made a business for himself that included several locations. He has also gotten things ready for him and Luna which includes a new cabin built in the woods with an artist studio build next to it just for her. Everything is exactly how Luna had described it to Derek when they would talk as they worked in the diner together.
This is a wonderful sweet and dirty short story with great characters, including the supporting. I enjoyed reading this story and would recommend it.

He has also gotten things ready for him and Luna which includes a new cabin built in the woods with an artist studio build next to it just for her. Everything is exactly how Luna had described it to Derek when they would talk as they worked in the diner together.
This is a wonderful sweet and dirty short story with great characters, including the supporting. I enjoyed reading this story and would recommend it.

Well, Pumpkin let me down, but Pop seems to have perked me right back up.
Derek and Luna had some definite chemistry going on. I actually felt just how much they'd been pining for each other in the six long years since Derek had left, and then once they'd gotten together, there were times the two were almost sickeningly sweet, especially towards the end. I love that Derek viewed Luna as his queen, while unbeknownst to Derek, Luna had always seen him for the king he was/is. I will say, though, it was slightly annoying that Derek had made such a big deal over Luna saving herself for him, but at least in this case, I think it was more about Luna waiting for Derek to return and claim his queen than about Derek needing to be the one to 'claim' her virginity. (Otherwise, I am so over this trend of having the heroine hanging on to her v-card until she meets the hero, especially when the hero himself is experienced and/or gets a raging boner because of the heroine's 'pure' status.)
Now, I gotta talk about the secondary characters, what two there were (well, three if you include the nanny). There was old man Ben, who was a hoot for however little he was in it, and then there was Luna's brother Daniel, who was a prick-and-a-half. Part of my problem with Daniel stemmed from him trying to stop Luna from pursuing her own dreams in favor of her helping to keep their family's failing restaurant afloat, but mostly, my biggest issue is how he threw Derek under the bus (so to speak) when they and Luna were teenagers. I mean, I understand Derek eventually forgiving him if no other reason than for Luna's sake, but it baffles me that .
Meanwhile, the ending felt a bit rushed, and I was disappointed that , but thankfully, these are mostly just nitpicks and didn't take away from my overall enjoyment of the story.

Wonderful!! This was a nice quick, short read.
Luna and Derek know each other from school. Derek and Luna’s brother Daniel are rivals. When Daniel vandiaises the school and Derek get in trouble he wants revenge. Derek goes to Luna sixteenth birthday party he wants the one thing Daniel protects. The problem is when Derek and Luna kiss, it’s her first and he knows she is the one for him. Derek get thrown out of school but heads off to make something of himself so he can one day have Luna. Six years later, Luna is working at her parents restaurant, she and Daniel inherit from them. Luna dreams of being an artist but Daniel tells her she’ll never make anything. Derek comes back to make Luna his. When he shows up at the diner, he tells her he is back to claim her. Daniel forbids her to go with him. They take off together and go to his cabin he build just for her. She tells him she waited for him and he claims her as his. They tell each other they love each other. He tells her he made a life for them, to take her away from the restaurant. He tells her he wants to marry her and have kids together. He has a ring for her, and she wants to see it. He tells her it depends on her answer. She tells him it will always be a yes. He asks her if she wants to work with him at his custom bike shops he has them all over the world. They stay in the cabin for two solid weeks. 4.5/5 STARS. I loved it. I loved how Derek waited 6 years for her and Luna did too. She would always wait for bikes to pass and hear the engine to find out if Derek was going to come back. One day Derek came back to take what belonged to him and he did and she was in tears and relieved he came back. All the waiting she did paid off and the love of her life came back but her brother Daniel was angry and told her she wasn’t welcome back to which she was sad but she loved Derek so much that she knew he would come around and Daniel did at the end with a fight. Derek takes her to the cabin he built for her and they make love. He got a tattoo for her above his heart for her and she kept the necklace he gave her years before they met. Turns out when they first met he was playing her but 10 minutes after he met her all the playing vanished and she knew but realised he was the real one. He left to make a stable life for the both of them and he did and then he came back and claimed his love. After she returns her brother makes amends with Derek and Derek catch’s up with a few he knew before he left and they get married. In the epilogue they have 2 children named River who is a boy and Elaine. Another is coming that she announces during sexc time.

When they were younger Derek and Luna's brother didn't get along because Derek got blamed for something her brother did. So for retaliation Derek was going to do something to the one thing Luna's brother loved the most...her. However after he kissed her and talked to her he knew that he couldn't go through with his plan. So he left and went off to make something of himself but he always planned to come back for Luna. Luna stayed and worked the family's diner even though business wasn't good. What no one knew was that every time she heard a motorcycle engine and she played a guessing game about what type it was she really was waiting for Derek to come back. Imagine her surprise when it finally happened and he really wanted her to come with him. Will she Luna follow her heart for once and go with Derek? Or with she let her family guilt her into staying?
This is an amazing story that will draw you in from the first page and leave you wanting more with the last one. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Derek left six years ago without a word and Luna has been waiting for him to return. She is a BBW and always thought that no boy was interested in her because of her weight but it turned out that it was her overprotective brother's fault as he had warned everyone away from her. Well everyone, apart from Derek. He couldn't keep away from her and was her first kiss. So when he left she was heartbroken. But now he's back and he's no longer the bad boy who got expelled from school. He's back and successful and ready to claim Luna as his. So everyone other male had better watch out. Great characters that you will love and such an easy to read 'page turnable' story that it's so easy to read in one go. Megan Wade is a relatively new author to me but one that I have now read all her books on kindle and have liked each and every one. Luna and her brother have taken over the family’s diner but it’s not doing so well now that there is a freeway that goes through town, Luna bets a 90 year old man on the kind of motorbike that makes that noise but this time Luna was wrong and she owed him a milkshake. Luna has been interested in bikes for at least 6 years when a boy named Derek who ended up working for her family’s diner he gave Luna her first kiss and she promised that she would wait for him but Derek left. 6 years later Derek is back to claim the one woman that owns him and he doesn’t care what Luna’s brother says, Derek left 6 years ago because he didn’t believe that he was good enough for Luna now he’s back he made his way in life and he’s come back to claim the woman that is his as he is hers. I loved this quick sexy read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.
