If you could see my grinning face right now!!! I am in love with KRS' Halloween candy novellas! They are to be devoured or savoured in you favorite book nook. I am so excited by what I just read. Blown. Away.
Give it to the author to come up with the strangest atmosphere and immerse you into it like you were there with her characters!
Between rainbows and darkness, The Red Shoes will take you for a tumultuous ride into Sal's psyche. I totally could recognize his twisted and beautiful mind! It was so him: Brilliant and determined but also vulnerable and tortured. In the company of his tribe, Deacon, Dom and Nico, he faces his most beautiful dreams and his scariest fears.
Like Sal's personality, TRS is a heady cocktail, with complex and addictive flavors. The most vivid colors mix with somber landscapes, passion meets hatred, love swirl with sadness. Everything is in movement and nothing fits in a box. The Red Shoes is a blend of complicity, sensuality and erotism all wrapped up in an enthralling fantasy. It's definitely a read to experience. But again, it's Mrs Samuels' magic and her genius Art!

Love the Sal.
I have to preface this with I don’t usually read retellings or even loosely based. The recent trend, pass, they feel recycled. This was a 2019 Halloween novella. The difference with The Red Shoes, Ms. Samuels inserts our favourite characters into the dreamscape, rather than reinventing the wheel. Brilliance and style, all wrapped up in Sal’s twisted as heck dream—this is how you do it!
Throw Nicky, Dom, Deacon and Sal into the melting pot, miserable with their relationships, down the golden road they head, and what do we have? The Red Shoes. They fit Sal perfectly at this stage of his journey.
“I just want to go higher, beyond the clouds and darkness, to a place where we can be…” “Untouchable.”
Deacon, his ‘holy saint’, and Dom, as always, there to prop up a pining Sal—Nicky, he’s just Nicky. Nothing more entertaining than “a $ociopath—with some odd tendencies, including a feti$h for shoes and sharps.”
Sal, as always, overthinking and stuck in his head, tortured by his demons, constantly judging himself. “He is beautifully perfect, and I am so f*****g flawed.”
Despite being a lighter read in places, the depth and self doubt, Sal’s love for Deacon, Iris, Dom and Nico, remain at the fore. Sal’s slowly finding his way.

The Red Shoes was a fun kinky little read. Sal, Deacon, Dom and Nico...how much trouble can they get into? We dive below the surface and embrace fears and learn to try and make peace with oneself. Some of my favorite and not so favorite characters made an appearance. This was and exciting book that made me laugh and fan myself at the same time. Another out of this world read from KRS!!!

Kailee never ceases to amaze me with her words. She has this ability to weave these amazing stories that blow your mind and leave you wanting even more. This story is no exception. This story certainly compliments the TAT series and gives you more of a glimpse into Sal’s twisted mind and emotional state. I am left speechless and needing more Sal. This is a must read and one that takes you on an adventure you never want to come out of. Add to you TBR and read immediately.

**Interim Review**
This delicious little morsel of introspective trippery and plunging mock ups of emotional courage, accompanied the TAT series perfectly. I am (as always,) left in absolute awe of Ms. Samuels ' bravery with her 'characters '. As each word is another step down a personal mental meandering, she shies away from NOTHING. With that said, one could just as easily, sit back and enjoy the ride for the words alone. Forget the deep sh*t and just fly....

Absolutely have no words. This was such an amazing read. Once again, the characters captivate you from the very first word to the very last. Started reading and couldn’t stop. Kailee, I adore you and love every word that goes on paper. Look forward to reading more.

What just happened??!! I can't take it....it's so good!! Kailee does it again with this sexy, sensual, kinky trip down the golden road. Her poetic words of this dreamscape make you fall deeper in love with Sal and his beautifully tragic mind (if that's even possible). You will LOVE it!

Wow!!! I cant say enough about KRS. These Nocturnal Gems are life though. Being inside the head of my Sallykins was a trip I'm not sure I was ready for. But damn am I glad to have placed up my boots and sally forthed (hehehe) down the golden trail!! The characters are brought to such raw beautiful light in these Annuals. Reading them through the eyes of each other is effin Magical!!! *** also. Anna. Kaci. Dais. I FLOVED them so hard!!!

Dreams are something else. Well, a bit of D/s action (Deacon/Sal) happening, then... Dreaming. Not a surprise Sal is a little kinky, although his initial outfit is certainly imaginative! Will update review when I finish.

A fantasy to the land of Sal (Oz ) what a dream. As with any of Ms Samuels work you will go to the unexpected and back again. Just when I think she can't surprise me anymore, wham shocked.

The Red Shoes follows Sal's trip down into Oz, as he gathers together the ones he loves and fights against those who would see him hurt. This is a super quick read that predates a huge event in the Juliet timeline (that I can't name because I don't want to spoil for those who haven't read Emily). But it's a perfect addition to the storyline for fans of Sal and Deacon, with a dash of Nico and Dom thrown in. Samuels' Nocturne books are super fun, quick reads that take the fantasy into something more.

Kailee has hit it out of the park with this little fantasy addition to the stories of Sal, Deacon, Dom and Nico -- oh my! This was a quick hot kinky little read and I loved the psychological insights I felt I gained into Sal's character. In this quick little read, while filled with hotness, there were lots of other emotions I went through and felt along the way as well. I loved revisiting some characters through this story and following the yellow road on this adventure.
I truly found myself lost in this little fantasy land never wanting to come back home.

Omg!!!! Wow!!!! What can I say but Sal story is getting better and better. I could not put this story down. This story is so captivating with the love and kinky sex just blow my mind. Even Sal dreams are so over the top. Just love it

Love, love, love!!! Kailee has never disappointed me with her books and this is no exception! I love Sal in this book, but I also love him in every other book he’s in. I can almost see him in his leather shorts and silver boots. You’ve roped me in again mistress Kailee.
