Running for her life and chased by someone willing to silence her one way or another Jackie is unsure what will happen in chapter one of this story of broken promises, greed, power, fighting for survival, exposing the truth and a bit of romance. Jackie had been rich and married to a politician when all of that ended, she had a baby and moved to Mexico to create a new life. When it all went wrong again her friend asked her to call HERO Force and so she did.

Ian and Sloan were sent to help Jackie and her daughter Selena. Going in blind they were sure there was more going on than they had been told. As they learned more and came up with ways to keep Jackie and Selena safe Ian also started to let down the wall he kept as a guard around himself. Scarred in more ways than one, Ian is not one to take chances.

There is definitely a spark between Jackie and Ian but whether or not they will act on the chemistry they feel is a bit up in the air and even if they do start something is there any potential for more in the future?

This book has more than one intriguing idea that is presented. Politics are prominent and play a big part in what happened to Jackie. Returning military who are “less” or “damaged” are given a different option when they join HERO Force and I have enjoyed reading the first two books in the Shattered SEALS twist to the ongoing HERO Force series.

This is an interesting and well written book that I enjoyed reading today. I would hope that if I am every in need that someone like Ian, Sloan or someone like them and their brothers in arms might show up to help me out.

Highly descriptive with lots of violence, this is an action-packed story of government corruption and greed but also a second chance at love story for the angry burn-scarred Razorback which is combined with glimpses into Cowboy’s rocky romance and Max’s search for his ex-wife, who may be dead.
Eight years after almost losing her life and unborn daughter, Jackie’s tormentor returns to silence her before she can expose her biracial presidential hopeful spouse, California senator Doug McGrath, who is hiding his biracial heritage. Former Navy SEAL and scarred surgeon Ian “ Razorback” Rhodes and his partner Sloan are set to Mexico to safely bring them back to the USA in time to prevent Doug and his new wife’s ascent to the White House.

They are all engrossing romantic suspense stories with a bit of a military romance element and everything from action, adventure, tension, danger, mystery, chemistry, sizzle, drama, drug cartels, emotion, friendships, camaraderie, violence, murder, angst, embezzlement, corruption, forgiveness, hope, love, passion, family, amnesia, runaway bride, terrorists, investigation, undercover MCs, high stakes, agendas, betrayal, pain, sinister forces- to dynamic characters.

Jackie Desjardins had been given a reprieve eight years ago, she faked her death, moved to Mexico and had her child. Now with a hurricane bearing down on her resort, Jackie has a feeling of being watched. As the storm draws closer, she is attacked in her home, saved by the former Navy SEAL protecting her all these years. Unfortunately Bill dies of a heart attack after the incident, but not before telling her who to call for reinforcements.

Hero Force operators Ian “Razorback” Rhodes and Sloane Dvorak are assigned to protect Jackie and her daughter Selena. The problem is there is no information on who they are to protect her from. Jackie has been rather closed mouthed about it, and they are going to have to get her to open up if they are to do their job. Of course the weather isn't co-operating on their journey either causing them to walk the last three or so miles to the resort.

When they arrive they pretty much have to go right to work as Jackie had heard something or someone in the hall to the kitchen.

Frustrated by Jackie's refusal to open up, Sloan and Ian search her room while she was in town with Selena and her neighbor. What they find is the answer they were looking for, more important this wasn't something that was going to go away easily.

Now Jackie has some decisions to make as Ian finds her packing up to run. Things ramp up from here, especially when they figure out who's after her. They call for reinforcements but the weather is going to be a factor. There is even a bit of push back between Mac and Cowboy the owner of Hero Forces, as the guys face the mercenary crew sent to take out Jackie and Selena.

Getting her back into the US was going to be difficult and the attraction between Ian and Jackie continues to build from a simmer to sizzling heat.

Fast-paced with plenty of action and excitement as the clock runs down for Jackie and Selena to be truly free from harm.

I can't wait to read the next book in this series.

After an SOS call from Mexico, Ian Rhodes and Sloan Dvorak are sent to protect Jackie Desjardins, who has been under attack. With the death of her friend and protector, Jackie and her daughter Selena wait for the members of the HERO force to arrive, all the while knowing that the minutes are ticking away. Jackie has been less than forthcoming in her explanation as to why she needs protection, but when Ian “Razorback” Rhodes confronts her with the truth, she can no longer hide the details. The plot amps up from then on with hardly a breath between one incident and the next. The dynamic between Ian and Jackie also escalates as they face one dangerous moment after the next. When Ian comes up with the perfect solution to ensure Selena's future safety, one realises that he has already committed himself to Jackie and her daughter. However, his insecurities get the better of him and when the danger is past, he resolves to walk away from them. The romance and physical attraction between Jackie and Ian are very evident in this novel, but the suspense is absolutely nail-biting. The story is well written, keeping the reader's interest throughout, and although it is part of a series, it is also a standalone. I am looking forward to the next book in the HERO set. I received a copy of this book as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Someone pregnant, investigative reporter Jackie Desjardin trusted pushed her car over an oceanside cliff intent on keeping her from publishing secrets. Jackie’s made a new life as owner of a Mexican report while mothering her daughter Selena. Her life is upended again when armed men come to kill them during a horrific storm. Thanks to friend that’s protected her for years, they don’t succeed but he’s mortally wounded. His last words to her begged Jackie to call HERO for help.

Hours later, prickly medic Ian “Razorback” Rhodes is one of a HERO pair sent to keep Jackie and Selena safe though they don’t have nearly enough information to feel secure about the assignment. Quickly and without realizing it, Ian and Jackie develop feelings for each other. It’s been several years but Ian is very aware how his facial disfigurement after an in-country bombing and isn’t sure Jackie’s feelings aren’t pity and his aren’t loneliness. When another attack comes, they barely survive but know why it happens.

Definitely not a bad outing but to my taste a collision of issues left this reader feeling let down. For this reader, the backdrop felt overused and distracted from the plot; FMC was muddy when theories, plans and rescue were ongoing; likeable leads but the romantic chemistry was light and more suspense would’ve been welcome. However, the action pieces were good.

This Amy Gamet series gets better with each book - if that's possible. Each edge of your seat book will have you hanging on for the ride.

To save her life and the life of her unborn child Jackie faked her death and disappeared into Mexico. For eight years she has quietly raised her daughter while barely making a living to support them. Then all hell breaks lose when evil comes back to correct the past. It will take an unexpected group of retired military misfits to protect Jackie and her daughter, get them to safety, and bring the bad guys to their knees. And during it all, unexpected love will blossom, but will it all be more than one badly damaged SEAL can manage?

After a roadside bomb left Ian 'Razorback' Rhodes permanently disfigured he left the military a broken man. Being thrown together with a team of other ex-military was giving him a second chance at life. Sent to protect a woman after someone tried to kill her, his team will be faced with horrific weather, a mercenary group with no scruples, and a United States politician with everything to lose if the truth gets out. But it will be the woman and her daughter that may bring Razorback to his knees and have him wondering if he could actually find love again.

By far, this story is one of the best stories I have read by this talented author.
If you are new to the series, it’s a spinoff of the HERO FORCE series. This new group is made up of men who while serving their country suffered physical and/or psychological injuries and are given a second chance to excel in what they do best.
Ian/Razorback Rhodes is one of these men. A doctor, and SEAL who was badly injured while trying to safe a life.
He has been sent to Mexico to rescue Jackie Desjardins and her daughter. A woman with a past in which the world thought her dead . But now that her estranged husband is running for president, her life is once more in danger.
From the start the plot is engaging. The characters wonderfully complex, and the action non-stop. Throw in a romance that might not get a chance to blossom, and you know it will be a story you will not easily forget.
Can’t wait to see whose story will be next. Maybe Max’s?

Amy Gamet’s words brought the terror alive as I read the first few pages of her newest HERO Force book, Resisting His Target. And the heart-pounding action continued throughout the whole story. Ms Gamet’s ability to bring her characters to life, their characteristic, flaws and all, help the readers to connect with them. The plot was riveting and believable. Jackie McGrath’s desire to protect her unborn child as she attempts to evade someone trying to run her off the road grabbed me immediately. Then forward 8 years when her new location is once again discovered and one again her life is in jeopardy. The men of HERO come to her aid. But these men are fighting their own inner demons, as well. These shattered men are still recovering, emotionally, from the wounds they received in battle, searching for their place to fit in. The emotions swirling throughout the book are strong and spot-on.
Guaranteed to please any reader searching for an adrenaline-rush, suspense and a side of romance. This book is a winner.

Jackie's husband is a Senator from CA wants to run for President and wants her to have an abortion. Jackie refuses and was run off a cliff and almost died. 8 yrs. later SVX tries to kill her, and she calls HERO Razorback "Ian" saves her multiple times, even after her house was set on fire by SVX. After all is clear, Jackie finds out she is considered a threat to the US and is not allowed back in the US. Ian and Jackie walk through desert to get to US so she can attend a convention and prove that he's lying about his heritage. When she gets there, she's told that her daughter is being held hostage and she must not say anything against her husband. Ian has help getting on the floor of the convention and tells her that Selina is safe, and boy or boy does she go crazy and punches her husband's assistant, and marches back to the podium and tells her full story and the fact that husband lies and she has proof. Loved Ian and Jackie and even though Ian has severe burns from before the fire, he decides to go see her and ask her out for a date. So much action your head with spin!

Resisting His Target: Shattered SEALs Book 2 is a long awaited return to writing for fans of Amy Gamet and it is a winner, guaranteed to keep readers on the edge of their seats. Jackie has been thought dead for 8 years. Now her husband and daughter’s father Doug McGrath is about to be named as his party’s presidential candidate. Jackie knows the truth about her husband and who tried to kill her. She and her daughter are being targeted again. Hero Force to the rescue! This reader gives no spoilers, but the author’s fans know her books deliver a lot of action, some hot loving, and suspense leading to the conclusion. Characters are well defined and believable. This fan can only say welcome back, Amy Gamet! I voluntarily reviewed an advance copy of this book. Most highly recommend.

This is book 2 in the Shattered SEALs series and it features Ian “Razorback” Rhodes and Jackie Desjardins. Ian is a doctor and a SEAL who was injured saving someone’s life. With half his face burned and scarred, he now works for Hero Force. Ian and Sloan are sent to Mexico to answer a distress call from a friend of a friend to Hero Force. Jackie faked her death 8 years ago but someone found her and wants her and her daughter dead. Jackie is going to try to right some wrongs and bring the truth to the forefront with Ian’s help.

This is a fast paced, heart pounding suspense as a race against time sends them into the political world of the presidential election.

I can't believe that I completely missed this book being released until now when the third book has been released. Oh well just means I get to enjoy them at the same time!! Anyway about the story. Wow im loving these broken Hero Force SEALS almost as much as the original ones! A happy for now. I can’t wait to see what happens with these guys next!!

I consider this story to be safe as it is free of abuse and cheating, no ow/om drama, no others after meeting. No mention of previous relationships/partners other than they both have been married previously .

It’s been a while since we were last in the HERO Force world and I’d forgotten how much I love these stories. It’s particularly special to read about these Shattered SEALs, who have truly given everything to the task, on a day that honors the memory of those sacrifices. I’m leery to go into too much detail here because I might give away the whole plot. Suffice it to say, I loved Ian and Jackie. They kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen next. And the epilogue scene has left me anxious to read even more.

Intrigue

Razorback is an interesting character. Doctor and SEAL who is injured and now cut off from others. Jackie faced a horrible nightmare but is still fighting. Together they take on a political conspiracy and corruption.

The action is fast and involves military-esq action. There is romance and family dynamics. I want to know more about several of the characters and their stories. I enjoyed the story overall but wish the political intrigue part had more depth and resolution.

She had run for her life when someone tried to kill her. Now years later after making a life for her and her daughter she is being targeted again. But now she has people who are willing to help her. And along the way she meets a retired Navy Seal who is going to make sure that she is safe. This story has several subplots going on. But the main one is she is hiding from her husband and his team. Somehow they found her. And her friend has called in his buddies to help her keep safe.

Awesome!

Jackie is hiding out with her daughter when someone is sent to kill her. Calling in an old favor, her best friend gets Hero Force assigned to protective detail before succumbing to a heart attack. Ian is not prepared for who is he sent to defend. As a fan, I am telling you to be prepared to stop everything else until you get to the end of this book. A great romantic suspense.

High action, an attraction that won't be denied, death terror and heartbreak

Are just afew of the well stired ingredients of this fast paced HEROES adventure.
In response to a call from a woman,using the name of Mac's old friend, Ian and Sloan are sent to check it out and protect the woman.
Jackie tried to think why anyone would try to kill her, as she and her daughter waited for the promised help to arrive.
You won't want to put it down till you see what happens next.

So happy Ian got a second chance at love with someone who doesn't take his crap even though he has been through so much in his life as a navy seal. Both together sure make the pages steamy. What a great story for Razorback! He is hard and scared inside and out. He is sent with Sloan to protect a woman and her child in Mexico. The heroine definitely has secrets.

Mac's team is moving forward to keep the HERO office of New York getting things done and trying to be successful at it.

I highly recommend not only this story but both Series!

Long awaited, this book does NOT DISAPPOINT!!!!!

Amy Gamet’s HERO Force and Shattered SEALS are some of my all time favorite books. After a hiatus, she is back in full swing with Razorback’s (Ian Rhodes) story and it was absolutely amazing! From practically the beginning where we meet Jackie and her daughter Selena the action begins, and it is a nonstop page turner from that point on. After a failed attempt on her life, Jackie ends up needing to call in reinforcements courtesy of her friend Bill-who was a former SEAL-after he ends up saving her but has a medical issue soon after. Enter Razorback and Sloan, two of our finest Shattered characters! I loved the way Gamet intertwined Jackie and Ian’s characters and how their relationship bloomed and their ending was perfect. And THEN!!!! Then we follow Mac as he continues to try and find his wife Ellie. Mac is one of my favorite’s in these books and I truly hope with all my heart that the next book doesn’t start with him finding Ellie’s body in Alabama. I am still holding out hope that he will get his happy ending! Anxiously awaiting the next book and hoping Amy Gamet writes it quickly, because I am dying to know what is going to happen!
