Gryke was another really enjoyable addition to this series. I can honestly say that I am officially hooked. I am enjoying the later additions to this series so much I can't stop reading them, they have definitely gotten better as the stories have moved along. Gryke and Fiona were great together. I loved Gryke, although he always seemed angry with Fiona it turns out he was confused about what he was feeling around her it angered him and he showed that annoyance to Fiona. He just couldn't believe his confused feeling towards a land walker, they were the ones who killed his mother. Fiona was a total badass but had such vulnerability I loved her and I totally understand the choices she made. Because as a mother myself I would do anything and betray anyone for my sons. Andrew was absolutely adorable and so easily melted Grykes heart. I'm already reading Braum.
Gryke is one Bracadyte that I couldn't wait to hear more about! The strongest and toughest men are always the one that fall and fall hard for their true mate. Just like the Beast in Beauty and the Beast, he was drawn to his lovely lady against his own will. It was his heart that lead the way as it slowly but methodically steered him towards Fiona. I can't express in words just how fun and magical it was to watch Gryke finally figure out what he not only craved the beauty before him, but he admired and loved her. His love was just as fragile as Fiona's since it was scarely used except for close friends and family. When Fiona found herself facing an unspeakable future of a bliss she never knew, she was determined to fight for it.
If Gryke was fierce before Fiona, he was downright monstrous when it comes her happiness and safety. Fiona would gladly battle Gryke for anything as long as he did so at her side. I loved come back to this fascinating world full of people who are more human then one of the ones they have come in contact with over the years. Getting to know more of these wondrous and brave men and women made my world explode into sheer bliss. This is what every serious reader wants: more access to the characters that we have fallen hopelessly in love with.
Ditter Kellen delivers in grand style and so much more when she gave us Gryke. We get unfettered access to the heart and mind of this incredible warrior. Nothing comes in the way of us enjoying every second of this journey with an equally fierce and determined woman. The battle of wills that ensue is one full of humor, danger, and excitement the neither expected. What a wonderful experience that I will not soon forget!
The narration was once again superb and highly entertaining! I always enjoy books that are read by this fabulous artist. He opens my eyes to this story in a whole new way and deepens my appreciation of his talent and the boundless creativity of DItter Kellen. I look forward to the next story in the captivatingly exquisite series.

His home in Aukrabah is in danger as well as the Bracadytes. The humans are to blame, yet the women come in peace looking for love. This book held the most scientific storyline with less romance. There’s resistance by some of the Bracadytes Humans live on land while the Bracadytes live underwater. The soldiers are threatening the home of the Bracadytes. A virus is destroying the human population. Human are referred to as land walkers.
This book is no longer available. The Journey Continues includes book 4 Zaureth, book 5 Oz and book 6 Gryke of the Enigma sci-fi series. I received this audiobook as a gift from Ditter Kellen before she pulled the series from Amazon. Enigma is a 12 book series. Apparently I’m not a fan of Sci-fi romance because these books didn’t hit there mark. I couldn’t take the dialogue seriously. I had a good laugh. These books are character driven.
Narrator: Johnny Mack is the solo male performer. He’s a professional voice over talent. I listened at 1.9x speed using the audible app. I wasn’t impressed with the female voice of Amy by a man. When Johnny was reading in the third person he sounded great. When he performed the voices of Zaureth and Amy I didn’t like the way he portrayed there voice.
Gryke: Science Fiction Romance (Enigma Series Book 6) by Ditter Kellen is a Science Fiction, Paranormal Romance. Half human, half alien, Gryke is the most vicious Bracadyte in Aukrabah. He doesn't trust the land walkers and especially Fiona Henagar. Fiona is a marine, she's smart, she's gorgeous and a widower mother raising her son with the help of her brother. When the government kidnaps her son Andrew, she has to steal the Bracadyte scrolls to get him back. As they fight against the government their attraction and feelings grow. An enjoyable, hot, wonderfully written read with a good storyline and amazing characters. A page turner, action plot. I couldn't put it down. I was lucky to get the audiobook and I love it as much. Each book can be read as standalone. I own the whole series so far and can't wait for the next one. Ditter Kellen is my favorite author and I own almost all her books. I love her writing style and the amazing way she has to make you believe that her characters are real even after you have finish reading. A MUST READ. Don't miss this one or the whole series.
Gryke is the hotheaded Bracadyte that isn’t fond of humans and has been very vocal about it....until he meets Fiona, the badass Marine assigned to the Bracadytes by the president. Last books leaves off with her taking something from the Bracadytes and pissing Zaureth off. Which as you know is not a wise decision. We learn in this book why she did it and who she is trying to protect. We also get to see Gryke’s softer side and more of his background. These two were a battle of the wills, Gryke definitely met his perfect match, she won’t put up with his crap and she really is a badass too. The Bracadytes dodge yet another attempt on their lives, they can never be free of all the hate towards them....especially with those three still out there.
This was a safe read. Fiona has been married, her husband is deceased, but not before he cheated on her all the time...so, in my world he just doesn’t count. No om or ow drama. Great heat, a proposal, an epilogue and an hea.
I was given a copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinions on it . Gyke even though he is half human has no love for the land walkers in fact he distrusts all of them and CIA agent Fiona is no exception. Fiona is sent to monitor the Bracadytes ,she bears them no ill will but when her son is kidnapped and held as leverage she has no choice but to steal from them . Gryke has no choice but to go after her and when he catches up to her these two finally face and give in to the feelings they have for each other but getting to a hea is going to be a hard road .The bad guys are still out there and are ramping up their game .Things get crazy in this page turning passion filled read . I enjoyed it from beginning to end and am chomping at the bit to read the next story in this series .Each book is better than the last .A must read series for 2017.
I read the first book in this series when it first came out. It was okay but I never read anymore of them until now. I thought that I would try again with a different book since I love this author's other books so much. I was pleasantly surprised by it. I may even have to go back to read the others. Fiona takes some scrolls from the Bracadytes in order to exchange them for her son's life. Gryke goes after her because he thinks she is a traitor. He finds out that the bad guys have both her son and her brother. Jeffries is the name of the human that wants the scrolls in order to destroy the Bracadytes. Gryke discovers that even though he doesn't like humans because they killed his mother that he has judges the whole species from the action of a few.
Gryke is the sixth installment in the Engima series by talented Ditter Kellen. The story revolves around fierce warrior Gryke and the equally fierce, but beautiful Fiona. Gryke has never encountered someone that makes him feel as Fiona does. He doesnt trust her but is drawn to her like no other. Fiona has secrets. Secrets that have the power to destroy Gryke and his community. When given no choice Fiona believes betrayal is the only way. The story around Gryke and Fiona is powerful, addictive and diverse but this story gives the extra delight by introducing new comers such as Fiona's brother who i know plays a huge part in books to come. Awesome story. Awesome series. I love getting to the end of each booking knowing that another great couple is to follow.
Gryke was amazing. The character is half human and half Bracadyte was an interesting change. His love interest Fiona has her own secrets. Little do we know why she has been thrown into the world of Aukrabah. We find out when she steals from them. The reason was a total surprise. Her son and brother are being held by that awful Jeffries. Forcing a mother to betray people she cares for. Who knew Gryke could be so good with Fiona's son. Perhaps he is so good because of his mother's murder by humans.
Another great story with strong and enjoyable character. Totally enjoyed the book and the series. I recommend you give this book and series a try.
I never get enough of this series. They must be read in order since each book is a continuation of the last. Gryke and Fiona are so perfect together. Both are terrificly badass people. I love seeing such a strong Hero grounded and humbled by his female. Seeing his rough exterior break was a wonderful compliment to his personality as asshole personified. Plus, I was happy to finally find out why Fiona did the things she did. I can't wait to read more!
My first short read/listen from author Ditter Kellen, although I own the first book in this series I’ve never gotten around to reading it. I was given an Audible copy of this book & am voluntarily reviewing it. Well-written romantic suspense, captivating with well-developed characters. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018)
Gryke (Enigma, #6) was another great read by Ditter Kellan. Gryke is a very vicious Bracadyte who hates what they call the land walkers. He hates Fiona with everything that he has. The kidnapping of her son makes her face Gryke and their feelings for each other. This was another great read in this great series.
I had been waiting for Mr. Grumpy aka Gryke!!! Holy smokes who knew what a softie the big guy would be! Fiona and Gryke are perfect for each other both are stubborn as hell but that's what makes them so lovable. This series is a must read and I can't get enough!!
Gryke is also half human/half Bracadyte, when he butts heads with Fiona, a kick-ass human marine, it's no holds barred!! Definitely love/hate...well first hate then love? Hehehe However you want to put it...it's hot and sometimes dangerous!
I have to admit, I wasn’t a fan of Gryke (as Ditter knows all too well) in the other books but....*sigh* I’ve changed my mind. I loved his character development through this book as he came into his own (and relaxed a bit)
Gave it a five star rating. Loved the story couldn't stop until I finished it. Can't wait to read the next book in the series to find out what happens next.
I anticipated this story having read the rest almost back to back and it didn't disappoint. Gryke is the fiercest, deadliest and possibly the grumpiest of all the bracadyte's lol. But I loved him so !
Being Half Human Half , alien and this is not known to many. He certainly meets his match, In book 6 ..
Fiona is tough, secretive, relies only on herself . Loves hard, is loyal , But when confronted with a bad situation she has no other way to turn, but to protect the ones she loves.
Gryke confronts Fiona and realizes many things, he has grown fond of this human, he thinks he cant stand. Her means behind her actions are justifiable.
Not only does Grkye find out why Fiona stole the scrolls but he finds out that his heart and head is consumed by her. Something he never deemed would ever happen.
Gryke is a bad boy, the baddest of all the aliens. His actions come across hard, confronting and often carefree. But he is the most loyal Bracadyte and most experienced of all to protect his species. He is loyal to a tee, and will die to protect.
I really enjoyed this character, he his a bad boy with a heart of gold, hard exterior but soft inside. We see a different side to him in this book, patience, love and caring. The time he spent with Fiona's son was sweet . It kinda made me go all gooey inside. lol . His caring side, made me love his character even more.
There was a lot of action and suspense within the pages. Many moments where I was on the edge of my seat, wandering which way the author would take us. The story line was fast paced and the plot sped up a lot in this installment.
Lots of Mystery, intrigue, suspense, action and some steamy loving, just what any reader loves to see scripted within the pages.
Fiona was a great character and once again Ditter Kellen has given us a strong female character to enjoy. Fiona's strength , passion and love for others gave her character depth and definition.
This author always captivates me with her writing, her stories are always unique, well detailed and easily envisaged and I immensely enjoy the characters that she scripts. I am always able to connect with the characters and submerge myself within the story, something that for me is important when reading. I sit down and turn the last page and hunt for the next :D
This Enigma series is like icing on a cake !! Delightful, decadent and hard to put down !
Gryke is a warrior for his people and has a savage hatred for the landwalkers or humans as they like to be called. Being half human half alien himself his hatred started when his human mother Rose was killed by her own people when he was just a baby. So when a human liaison for the President stirs things in him that he shouldn't have he is caught off guard when she flees with the ancient scrolls of his people. When Doug Jefferies kidnaps Fiona's young son and brother she has no choice than to betray the very people that she has fought side by side with and has lived with for months. With the help of Gryke Fiona must save her son and brother from death all at the same time fighting the ever growing attraction to the giant alien known as Gryke.
Fiona is one woman that can do it all! Raising her son Andrew with the help of her brother Brant she is CIA, former Marine and she can kick some serious booty. Loved the tender moments with little Andrew and caring for her little brother. Gryke was brought down by a toddler, how he interacted with Andrew was sweet and when you add kids to any story they always steal the scenes. We also got more Melvin and the CIA's involvement. Great addition to a wonderful series can't wait for Braum and his story!
Another hit out of the park for the Enigma series.
One of the best series have have been reading in a long time. The characters draw me and refused to let go until the book is done.
Gryke and Fiona each will fight to protect their families but can they work together to defeat those that seek to destroy them?
With human sentiment against the Bracadyte's due to a viral outbreak that is killing humans can these two stop the various factions out to harm, kill, hold hostage those important to them?
I was looking forward to Gryke's Story. For some reason I always like the Emotionally scarred/tortured Bad-boy.
Book 6 starts-off where 5 left off; They have just discovered that Fiona, the human Marine, has left Aukrabah with the Sacred Scrolls.
Gryke, is the fiercest and greatest warrior of the Brakadytes. The only thing more Fierce than his warrior skills is his hate of Humans. Gryke has been suspicious ever since the Human President sent her down to Aukrabah but he's also fighting feelings for her. Feelings he doesn't want to have.
Fiona life is in chaos, the Rebel part of the US Government is holding her 6-year-old son and brother hostage. If she doesn't bring them the Scrolls, they will be killed.
Will Fiona and Gryke be able to overcome her betrayal and Gryke's hate of Humans? Once again the adventure, passion and intrigue is amazing.
My only disappointment in this story is in the development of Gryke, in the other books he is such a tortured soul. And I felt that could have been developed and explained so much more in this book. But I probably only would have starred it at 4.5 because as always, I love my Brakadytes.
This series just keeps getting better and better! Gryke and Fiona are thrown together do to events beyond their controls. They learn the hard way that the evil Jeffries is just a small player in the plot to wipe out the Bracadyte. The book contained enough drama, mystery, and danger to keep your heart pounding add to that an amazing love story! It's just wooow!
I really enjoyed this story about Gryke and Fiona. When we last saw them Gryke was pissed that Fiona stole the scrolls. This book deals with both of them trying to not only fight the pull between them, more on Gryke's end, and what drove Fiona to do what she did. While both of them are trying to navigate through life we have multiple baddies trying to destroy save the world from the evil Bracadytes and the infection they spread.
Gryke is one of those characters that has always been a loner. He does not have many friends and people tend to give him a wide berth. Over the past couple of books he seems to have a chip on his shoulder and we understand why. The only think that annoyed me about the set up was I thought it was going to more traumatic then it actually was. I do understand it still sucks what happened to him but the amount of anger he has towards humans did not make sense to me.
Fiona on the other hand just randomly came about. I know that she is a strong independent woman but at times I wanted to tell her it is okay to lean on someone. There were times when both her and Gryke were at odds for no reason because they were not communicating with on another. I loved the way Gryke was with Andrew, I have a soft spot for children in stories.
I am excited to see where Ditter Kellen takes this series because there are so many things to explore. What is going on with the vaccine? Why is the ex president so hell bent on bringing down the Bracadytes and what does he gain? What why happen to Fiona's brother and will Andrew be okay with Gryke being his father? How does the King of Aukrabah really feel about having all these humans and human things in his kingdom? Will be ever meet other Bracadytes that Gryke mentioned to Andrew? There are so many more questions that I have and I need to continue reading to see if some of my questions will be answered.
This series has been wonderful and I'm looking forward to the next one for sure. The story has stayed new and interesting even though we have went through multiple books. Great love story
Gryke made me cry, well he didn't, his story did, Thankyou for that Miss Kellen, Gryke reminded me of a bear, with a soft side, which he hardly shows, a real big alpha male, the alphaist of them all, is that even a word? probably not, but he seemed to be the top dog, Fiona is a no nonsense kind of gal, who would do whatever she had to for her son, a match not made straight away, but like a simmering pot about to boil over, this one has the best plotline, I felt so sorry for these characters, glad they got that happy ending.
Loved Gryke and Fiona's story. Have preordered the next book and I cannot wait for it to be released. The tension has been built and I really need to find out what the bad guys have in store for us next as well as whether Braum will get his happy ending. Loved loved loved.
