We said, Spot on Neil!

As a fellow RCCL cruiser who has achieved over the mid-level of "frequent-cruiser status" your comments and feedback match our thoughts also regarding the changes we have observed since our first cruise on their very small converted ferry boat Viking Serenade along the west coast US. So small a ship that we only had the main dining room as an option but the service was amazing and very European old-school cruise ship.
I too am a "thrifty man" and prone to scrutiny as the times have changed to the main dining with the addition of specialty restaurants. We love bonding with the wonderful staff. They work so hard and are incredibly gracious once engaged at a personal and individual level. Many of your comments regarding cabin classes, attempts at selling add-on-everythings, and cruise line quirks cracked me up. We love the options provided by RCCL. Don't want a cattle drive then stay off of the large floating amusement park ships. Don't want lots of kids, take a repositioning cruise or one lasting longer than a week. Don't like the same old t-shirts printed with the name of today's port, stay on board and enjoy the peace or go "all-in" and hire a taxi tour for the day. Want quiet time, get up early and make a lap on deck 4, go up to the top track level and walk. Bad weather, enjoy the interior unlimited stairmaster called the staircase. Cruising is great on RCCL as long as you pick your path to personal value. Heck wear the darn bathrobe that you earned for free due to cruiser level at least one time and feel like "you have arrived".

Having been on my first ever cruise this year, onboard a RCI ship, this book was a joy to read!
