The Pilgrim's Progress

by Steve R. Cleary, Robert Fernandez (Contributor), Simon Vance (Narrator)

Based on John Bunyan's epic masterpiece, this book abridges the story of Christian's journey. It hits most of the highlights of the original, including Evangelist, the Swamp of Despondency, Worldly Wiseman, Mr. Legality, Salvation Hill, Vanity Fair, Apollyon, and much more. The illustrations are stills from The Pilgrim's Progress Animated Movie, distributed by Revelation Media.

This story book accompanies an animated film: The Pilgrim's Progress Animated Movie, but I can find little info about the movie, or when it is supposed to be in theaters. This is a good introduction for children of the original book.

I mean it's the Pilgrim's Progress. It's never going to be anything but a stilted allegory for me. I tried to reread the original Bunyan as part of my re-read my own shelves project and gave up pretty quickly because it is really, really boring.

The illustrations in this version are good.
