Imagine her shock when Claire wins the shifter lottery! It’s the first one ever to be held and she’s never won anything before in her entire life. She can’t believe it. She’s going to meet a shifter in real life. For years, Claire has saved newspaper clippings, anything she can find on shifters. It’s a dream come true. A whole day on shifter territory.
The big day arrives. She’s confused when they separate her and two other women from the group. They are told that there’s a new kind of shifter. One nobody has ever heard of. Not only that, they’re looking for mates…and she’s eligible. She’s afraid. Yet she’s excited. It sounds like the adventure of a lifetime. Claire doubts she’ll find love. Yeah, right! Not her. Little does she know, she’s about to fall for not one, but two sexy griffin shifters.
Things get more complicated when a third is added to the equation. All three of them want her just as much as they hate each other. What has she done? Claire is stuck in the middle of something beyond her control. It’s too much for her to handle. All she wants now is to go home. Claire wishes she’d never won the lottery, because she’s ended up losing her heart.
Contains hot alpha males and therefore strong sexual themes/language

I follow and, usually love Charlene's books, and this one started off great. Yes I know the front cover shows a threesome so obviously that’s what the story must be about but the story starts off giving the impression that the hero-alpha male's character as, not that way inclined, and furthermore, why would he need to share? He's the King, and with that, all the usual needed, and expected linage gummage etc. that's necessary to sustain that title. To then twist the plot so that the main hero character turns in to what can only be described as a total, immature, wimp was unexpected and, frankly off putting to the storyline. Honestly in my opinion, it didn't sustain the hero’s original macho-character-stance. He is supposed to be The King after all, so for me, it just went steadily down hill, especially when, the villain of the piece, who is first portrayed as a total, voyeur creep in the beginning of the story 'changes his spots'. Why she then twisted his character into the total opposite half way through the book just didn't make any rational sense, mainly because it was THAT drastic a character change. In the end, the story just came across to me as, she didn't really have a clear, thought out plot to start off with and, to 'fill and churn the story out there ASAP' ad-libbed the last 3 quarters of the story. Then, when it came to the last quarter of the book thought, 'oh, it needs some extra spice' in the story and proceeded to turn it into a manège for more 'padding' and, to give the novel some sort of HEA ending. I have to say, I was disappointed with this novel, the characters came across to me as, indecisive, weak, fickle, and, not what I'd deem desirable as the heroes of a romance novel. Overall, I didn't enjoy this book and can't honestly say it was worth hike increase she now charges for her books.
Hate Awakened is the 3rd sexy book in The Feral series. Understanding humans is not as easy as they thought. The story revolves around shifters who meet the one and their lives are changed forever. But there are dramas and action along the way. That's when the fun begins.
While each book can be enjoyed as a standalone, it's best to read them in order to fully appreciate the rich paranormal elements and exciting themes they offer. The characters are fun and loving and dictated by their rules, but what they discover more than they ever imagined.
Strong, sexy alpha males in protective roles! Who doesn't love that
Hate Awakened is a story about the King of the Ferals. We are getting into the Feral tale of the two twin brothers. Claire happens to bring the mating feeling out of two men that you would least expect. I fell in love with Leukos and Magnar! Two very sexy males that Claire is lucky to have.
I loved this story. I think it is one of the best ones Charlene has written in a long time. There is a real feel to this one, emotions and fun to it. You can feel the love she put into it. A must-read!
Warning: mature sexual content, mature themes, and language.
It was so enticing that I couldn’t put it down, this book grabbed my interest from the very first page. I couldn’t put it down, I had to know what happened next. The story is well written with a very good storyline. This is book three of four in The Feral series. (Set in the same world The Chosen Series)
Their own females died many moons ago from the dreaded clutch sickness. Desperate and desolate, they watch as the other shifters take human females as mates. They are breeding successfully with them too. Surely if the others can do it, they can too, and they must if they are to survive.

I highly recommend to everyone.
Leukos, the king of the Ferals needs to find a human mate in order to have a clutch to maintain being king. His brother has some mental issues that wants to cause a lot of damage to other shifters and humans. Since the Ferals have recently had success in having offspring with no deaths as what previously happened to all the Feral females except one, Leukos is looking forward to finding a mate. Claire is the one that caught the king's eye. What she doesn't know is that Ekon the king's brother has plans for her. She is kidnapped from Leukos and there is so much more that happens to her. Magnar has much to do with carrying out Ekon's plans believing that Ekon should be king but soon starts seeing things of his best friend. Things also happen between Magnar and Claire. He becomes her protector and making sure Leukos doesn't destroy her feelings between the two of them. You can't help but love the main characters in this book. With the ending hoping for a part 2 book from Charlene Hartnady. Definitely recommend this book and any book from the author.
I am volunteering to leave a review for an ARC of this book.
Holy wow! This book had so much I did not expect and a lot of humor. Omg I couldn’t stop laughing so much. Loved the low angst and the what will happens too.
Character breakdown;
Claire: I liked her at first and a little after. Her need to be an understanding person was the best part of her. But her not accepting that polyamory exist in more than just shifters? That was annoying.
Leukos: I liked the that the male was so sensitive with Claire but was tough and alpha with his fellow ferals. I liked that he did the right thing for his people even if that meant that he had to “betray” his brother. And I loved that he got to reunite with his long time friend.
Magnate: from previous books I did not think I was going to like this male. But omg he had me laughing a lot! And his crude and blunt ways were hot. He would definitely keep Claire and Leukos on their toes.
I am also disappointed to not have seen some DP during some of the steamy scenes lol.
I cannot wait to see how this series will end. The next book will be interesting indeed!
So basically this was a fun read, but it had some hiccups I struggle with. For example the romanticizing of the abduction and Claire falling for Magnar that fast. I don't think that is really possible for an abduction victim, no matter if she has a fast developing Stockholm Syndrome or the abductor is insanely hot. That wouldn't matter at all I'm sure. I also cannot fathom the idea of Ekon and Magmar that abducting her and forcing her to give Ekon a chance to "test compatability" has any merit at all or any chance of success. Well, it would actually mean Claire is dumb as fu*k to go along with it. But its men, so they tend to not think with their brains. And in this kind of genre they usually don't. Apart from that and focusing on the fact it is fantasy and not real, it was funny and entertaining. I think Ekon is an idiot par excellence and am curious if he gets a chance or is dealt with by the good guys in the end.

Claire meets the Feral King, Leukos. She is attracted to him. He believes that she could be the one to be his queen and give him heirs. But then she is taken right out of his home by the enemy. Magnar is second to Leukos's brother Ekon. Ekon was king before something happened and he was exiled. Ekon formed his own group of Ferals called the Fallen. Magnar is sent to kidnap whichever human female that Leukos is falling for and take her to Ekon. They run into difficulties along the way and they begin to care for each other. Now there is a choice to make. Who does she love? Who loves her back? Which king is the rightful king? This book can possibly be read as a standalone. But reading the other books gives the reader information on who and what the ferals are. I recommend reading any or all of this author's books.
Hate Awakened: The Feral Book 3 By Charlene Hartnady Kindle unlimited purchase It's time, a cure for clutch sickness has been found, so human females have joined the shifter lottery to date a "shifter" for the weekend. But Claire and two other females get more than they expected. They never knew about the "feral", shapeshifters that look like Griffin in their animal forms. This book is packed full. Keeps you guessing all the way to the end. But this book is an MFM book. So if you think romance is between MF only this will not be the book for you. But if you can see the PULL of having TWO ( or more ) men at your feet then I recommend this book for you. I do recommend you read this series in order that way you will understand a little bit more about our griffin shifters and how losing their mates to the clutch sickness has done to them.
This is Claire, Leukos & Magnar’s story. Claire is a female that happened to win the shifter lottery ticket, in which she won a round trip ticket, including lodging & food for the weekend to the shifter compound. She has no idea of what’s in store for her. Leukos is the king of the Feral. He has a twin brother, Ekon, who is king of the Fallen. The Fallen & the Feral are all griffon shifters. They just divided up their forces into two factions & are opposed to the other. Magnar is an arrogant Fallen male. He treats women as objects. He is Ekon’s general of the army. He is tasked with kidnapping Claire so that she doesn’t mate with Leukos. Little does he know that he will never be the same after the kidnapping attempt. This story is very hot & does have a HEA. Highly recommend !
I loved this! So different from the others. Claire has experienced more than she would have ever dreamed possible. Kidnapped 3 times and falling in love with 2 men then being able to be with both. You couldn't help but love Magnar's character. He's fun free funny and charming. Luekos has a commanding presence that makes you feel safe, he's also sweet with a shyness that's endearing. I would have a hard time picking between the two too. Luckily she didn't have to and it all worked out but with luekos brother still alive they might have some problems later down the road. He has one too many screws loose. I really enjoyed this book, especially the banter it was quite amusing.
This was another captivating high energy Hartnady tale with fierce passionate Feral creatures and strong sassy female humans. I thoroughly enjoyed reading Claire, Leukos, and Magnar's story and watching the fast-paced drama caused by their interactions. This book was entertaining and sizzling with hot-blooded Feral lovemaking. Also, the elements of treachery and conspiracy brought about by the "Fallen" Feral wreaked havoc in Claire's life and added another level of intrigue to this narrative. I always enjoy reading about the amazing Feral breed and look forward to many more stories about them. Enjoyed Every Page!!!!!
The storyline was really great! I loved the banter between all three in the story. It was so good t read about the guys ribbing each other and struggling with their feelings as well. I think the author really hit in on point with capturing the feelings of the characters. The one thing I dont like about Charlene's books are these cliffhangers as sometimes they are resolved in the follow up and sometimes they are not. I am very interested in reading on to see what will happen to Ekon though. I want to catch up with Leukos and Magnar to see if they have started a family with Claire.
So far this is my favorite book of this series! I am SO IMPRESSED with this book! It is very well written great storylines great build-up of characters outstanding action back and forth back and forth but so worth it! I really love the development of how the relationship forms between the three of them! I love that Magnar finally steps up and comes into himself as the true feral that he is. It was more than obvious what the deal was with Ekon. Just the right amount of story build up was necessary to highlight that, and it was done so well in this book. CUDOS MS HARTNADY!!
Oh. My. Goodness. This book was so not what I was expecting in all the right ways! Two males and one female. Not a shocker by any means but what I wasn't expecting was who one of the males ended up being. I love the tone of the conflict and I think that Charlene did an amazing job of taking the sex scenes and adding a depth of introspection to the characters! I loved the struggle that Claire had to go through and the fact that she wasn't a limp noodle through all of it. This is definitely a sexy and fun read that you should absolutely make time for!
This can be read if you only read the feral books. But I do recommend to first read the dragons. Claire her adventure is a great fun, terrible, funny and a little disturbing. Yes I know but in a good way. It was a surprise read a bit different then I am used to. I was a bit surprised. I didnt think I would like it but I did. Figuring out what you think will happen is not really possible and that makes it more fun. It kept me in suspense till the end. It everything a really good book needs. I say it's a must read. "I received a advanced copy for a honest review"
Unrestrained laughter, thoroughly enjoyable! I always find Ms. Hartnady’s books entertaining reading, but this one is especially delightful. It was refreshing to read of a king (Leukos) who lacked confidence (in certain areas). Our heroine, Claire, has no hesitation in facing down a huge griffin and setting him straight - a gutsy woman! The scenes with Magnar are priceless, carried out with a wicked sense of humor. Although I was not sure at first of the direction this book would take, I am thrilled with the outcome. Do read, you won’t regret it!
I loved the story, but the characters need work. Feral are supposed to be alpha not question their actions and the female was so stuck on her human ideals, she was pretty judgemental and insecure. Once She let go of all of that it was good. Also the first sex scene lost some of it's momentum after the H finished quick, they were gonna go again but they had a boring talk that takes away the sexiness for me. They went again, but less talking and get back to it straight away. The other fallen H was perfect.
I wasn't sure what to expect from this book, it is VERY different than her others! This was the first threesome book, but it was a fantastic read! I have been wondering when we would revisit the king. This was an awesome read, and there were so many twist and turns! I liked Claire, and she wasn't the roll over type of girl. She wasn't afraid to push back and she could handle herself. I highly recommend reading this book, but make sure you read the others in the series first! I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Loved it, thought that it wouldn't work out but it did. I love Magnar his sense of humor is hilarious, as for Leukos he's more reserved. They both have their own unique way about them, and Claire got her heart desire even though she think she has a sick frame of mine. Loved how everything worked how; however what in he'll is wrong with Ekron steal an heir and he rule..Now he's a sick bastard, and now will there be more story line on the Ferals hope so I want to read Locke and Any story of there's any..big fan as always Winzie19☺💞.
Another good read in this series, Claire won a place to visit a shifter village in a lottery never imagining she would be chosen to go to feral territory whist there her life changes dramatically. She is kidnapped firstly by a desperate feral looking for love and then by the fallen. This woman is kidnapped several times but finds love author one but two hot Alpha Feral males. It is a great story with so much action and lots of hot sex and a twist in the tale. I look forward to the next book in this series.
This is a fast moving story with strong Alpha males & an even stronger heroine. She is much in demand but keeps her cool to get her well deserved happy ending. Well several happy endings as the men are hot and the sex hotter. Alliances are questioned as feelings grow. Just a fab read. Fans of Milly Taiden, Zoe Chance & Terri Boldryn will adore this story. Thank you Charlene.... can't wait for book 4! Xx
I received an advance copy of this book for an honest review.
Wish I could give it than 5 stars, I LOVED this. Two guys and one gal usually tickles my fancy more than a more “normal” romance and this certainly didn’t disappoint, I would have liked a lil more hanky Panky with the three of them or even just one more chapter but then I still wouldn’t want it to end even with another chapter, I think this one will be one I re read over and over again.
This is the third book in the Feral series & it does not disappoint bringing Ekon the supposed king of the fallen into the storyline after being mentioned previously. Claire wins a lottery & what a prize she gets! She gets to deal with Leukos & Magnar, kidnapped plus all the sexiness of the Feral males times two! The Feral are always entertaining & funny but this book just brings all that out. I was lucky enough to receive an ARC in exchange for an honest review & this is an easy 5 stars.
Hate Awakened is the third book in the Feral series. As we know from previous books, they lost their females to clutch sickness and have been looking for a solution for close to a decade now😢
Claire wins the lottery to visit some shifters and soon realises she will be meeting another group, this being the Ferals. She is attracted to Leukos the King, but when she is kidnapped by Magnar - she finds herself in a whole more complicated position😱
Claire wins the lottery! That’s an understatement. She meets the king of the shifters and everything goes well until she gets kidnapped and taken for the fallen king who is actually the Kings brother. She doesn’t expect to fall for the shifter who took her but she does. How can she choose between the king who lives her and the shifter who stole her and her heart? I hope there will me more in this series.
This was an action packed story. It was very exciting with lots of twists and turns you think it's maybe gonna be one set but then it so is not. Once they both start to share things get quite a bit hotter although it was a little disappointing that the last chapter makes it seem like their story may not be over... Now I must wait and hope the next book comes soon... Before I start reading the Lord series
I had read the other books in the series, so I took the chance to read this book. It’s Leukos who is trying to do the right thing and prevent his brother from taking the crown. Leukos needs an heir. He decides to participate in the female lottery. He discovers Claire and they are connecting when his brother’s general Magnar steals Claire. The dialogue is humorous more than serious. Read On!
The book was just as great as the previous ones and holds your attention from beginning to end with a lot of twists and turns. A beautiful romance about griffin shifters with enough action, drama, love, and a sexy scenes that sizzles with awesome characters. Definitely a must buy and waiting anxiously for the next book in the series?
