Learning How to Heal a Broken Heart: Transforming Breakdowns into Breakthroughs

Rate this book
I have yet to meet someone who has not been heartbroken at least once in their life. It happens to us all, more often than not, it’ll happen more than once. We get heartbroken, we get disappointed, we get rejected. It’s part of life. We live in a world with flawed humans who fail us and make mistakes. Many of our dreams are wrapped up in these humans, and because of that, brokenness is just a part of living on this earth. It’s a price of admission to this life and something which we all must pay. We can’t always control the situation or the outcome for that matter. But we can control how we respond to the devastating blow when heartbreak strikes. In this book, I will go over all the ways one can truly heal from heartbreak. Dealing with the pain that comes with it, the struggle, the insecurities, disappointment, and the rejection. I will show you how to combat grief and how to endure the difficult road to becoming whole again. Heartbreak and disappointment, they change you; change how you eat, how you sleep, and how you interact with others. It shakes you to your very core. The essence of who you are. Recovering from such trauma can be an extremely lengthy and challenging process. If done incorrectly, you’re not only prolonging your heartbreak but also risking long-term emotional damage.Add to the fact that most people don’t even know what genuine healing really is, and then you understand why most people never truly accomplish it. In a world that leaves us broken many times over, we must excel in the process of healing. Healing is an art. An art that we must master if we want to live a truly fulfilling life. If we're going to create healthy, long-lasting relationships, then we have to learn how to heal fully, and in the right away from the ones that leave us broken. Because heartbreak isn’t physical trauma where our bodies automatically know how to respond. No, I’m afraid with mental trauma, the healing process is far more complicated than that. And it’s entirely up to us whether we heal or not. If your heart is heavy, if your soul is crushed, if you’re suffocating in immeasurable grief and disappointment, I want you to take this book and let it be your lifeline for these troublesome times. Let me be the compass that will lead you out of this storm.

What the actual fuck. This started okay but mid book it turned into a preaching for god ans jesus christ. Dont read this, its not worth it. There are plenty other books that will make you focus on finding yourself -not force you into any religion.

3.5⭐️

I was looking for a book that would teach me how to heal old wounds - loss of family, friendships, old flames as a part of my long journey of overall healing… I needed a book that could cover it all and teach me how to heal those portions of myself where I felt like I lost a part of my identity. This was a “straight to the point” type of book that consisted of both great advices, reality, and also the writers personal experience. There were portions that felt like it was a little repetitive and felt like it was being dragged out longer than it needed BUT overall I got what I needed from the book and It was a good read!

The title of this book is pretty plainspoken which makes this book the perfect book for anyone who is seeking any advice when it comes to mending a broken heart. I myself have been let down in love and I found this book not only to be comforting but advantageous too. Mr. Scholz makes it well known from the first chapter that it's not just bogus your reading but more so feelings, experiences, and personal wisdom. I related to some chapters more than others but a quote from the book that I can't seem to shake is "The path towards healing requires one to find peace. You can't heal if you are not at peace with yourself.". This resonated with me because it took some soul searching recently for me to realize how valuable my peace was and this quote was a beautiful reminder that peace does truly come from within. Mr. Scholz exemplifies healing in a way that is so raw and truthful that anyone who is going through/ or has gone through a similar situation can relate to. I love this book so much that I have read it twice now and will keep it as a reminder for anytime I need some encouragement of my own. I even bought another copy to gift to one of my friends who is also in need of uplifting encouragement. Can't wait to read more from this author in the future!

Bait and switch. Marvin uses the book to proselytize on Jesus. No mention of it on the back cover, and it comes up slowly, but by the end he’s preaching hard. A few good ideas in here save it from a one star rating.

The Review

This is a beautifully written, honest and heartfelt book that everyone will be able to benefit from. The author does a masterful job of creating a fast paced yet impactful read that takes readers through the difficult yet rewarding process of handling grief and a broken heart overall.

From accepting the pain that comes from heartbreak to learning the things one shouldn’t do to cope with that heartbreak to finally moving on and accepting what has happened overall, this book does a fantastic job of meticulously examining these moments in any person’s life. Far too often people have their hearts broken in one way or another, and it is easy to fall into unhealthy habits to cope with the pain it brings. The author uses personal experience and honesty to shed light on the problem with this process, and how finding a healthy solution to heal from heartbreak is the best thing possible.

The Verdict

A fairly short yet important read, author Marvin Scholz has done an excellent job of creating a book that will engage readers on a personal level and truly help readers who have experienced their own brand of heartbreak in their lives. While a painful experience, the author helps guide readers through the process of understanding the pain, finding ways to cope with and heal from the heartbreak and finally finding peace and happiness on the other side. A book that is not to be missed, be sure to grab your copies of “Learning How To Heal A Broken Heart” by Marvin Scholz today!

Mostly good, but a bit preachy

I liked the book until the point where the author started to push God and religion on the reader. While I understand that can help I dislike having to think of that as a most and I felt like that was pushed a big too hard, specially when in reality religiosity and all that it entails is actually not always "good." If fostered in a controlling and toxic community it can lead to harmful self-images, purity culture is not very nice to women, not to mention how some people legit think women should "submit to their husbands" creating very toxic relationship dynamics... Point is: religion is a very, very sensitive subject, and I didn't pick up a Christian book. I wanted to get over a heart break, not get told to become a born again Christian 😅 I think the book would have been better if that wasn't really mentioned...

Curled up with a glass of wine (okay a few), but seriously I COULD NOT PUT THIS BOOK DOWN!! A must read for anyone, at any stage in life. There’s something for everyone that you can relate & apply to your life. The way Marvin has wrote this was so beautiful and raw; he makes you feel like he’s there with you. I can’t say i’ve suffered a severe break up, but I deeply understand a tragic loss leaving you feeling empty and broken, don’t think of this as every other ‘how to’ breakup book because it really is SO much more! I’ve already ordered copies for 4 other women in my life! I ordered off of Amazon and it arrived a few days early, you can download on kindle as well! I 10/10 recommend this book, you won’t be sorry! xx

This book is the needle and thread needed to heal deep wounds. A beautiful step by step guide to help out anyone on the path towards true healing. From a real, raw and vulnerable perspective. This isn’t any ordinary book, it’s pages are filled with words of support, words of understanding. The author reassures you that you are not alone on this journey, and that’s the best form of encouragement to receive when healing.
A definite must read, and definite must purchase.
A timeless book that one can always look back to if you were to ever find yourself trapped in the dark places of heartache and heartbreak again.

A phenomenal piece.

Honest to the core

Moving on isn’t simple and Martin teaches a process to accept the natural process of moving on. Finish a book, close the cover- cherish its memory and open a new book because moving on isn’t just about starting new chapters in our life but it’s also about letting it go of the books that don’t serve you.
