A Witch's Storm

Rate this book
“It's time I show them the real me. I don't think they're going to like it.”

A witch blessed by the sun and the moon, Lynx lives a double life. She loves her roommates and gladly fights by their side, but behind their backs, her loyalty remains with her mother who has asked her to do the unthinkable.

When Lynx finally confesses her betrayal, Samira and Briar turn away from her, which pushes Lynx further into the dark world of Rouen’s powerful witch families where anything goes. Only Aris, who understands and can relate to making tough decisions, remains by her side.

Desperate to make things right by getting the Abydos back, Lynx decides to face Ivona, the great fae witch, all on her own. But Ivona isn’t who she thinks she is, and Lynx’s worst nightmare comes true. Lives will be lost, and hearts will be broken. If Lynx and her roommates can’t come together as true friends, all will be lost. Not just for them, but for the entire world.

Born at the stroke of midnight, Raven Steele grew up in a home bordering a graveyard as old as time. Ghosts became her only friends and whispered tales of a world that existed between night and day. In this place, monsters roamed the lands, magic curled in the wind, and good and evil fought over the hearts and minds of humans. Desperate to not let those dark and brave creatures be forgotten, Raven wrote down the words of the ghosts, knowing their stories of triumph and sorrow would give strength and comfort to those in our world.

And so, when the sun sets, Raven retreats to the cemetery at the edge of the woods, where she sits and listens to the dead speak their tales of Rouen and all of its inhabitants. Because one day, our two worlds may collide, and when they do, we must be ready. For when their darkness bleeds into ours, we will be fighting for more than our lives. We will be battling for our souls.

Raven Steele is a pen name to USA Today's bestselling author Rachel McClellan.

I highly recommend the series. Each characters is so well nuanced. I like that they aren't all good or evil but have shades of gray and sometimes make some bad choices.

This one let you learn more about who she was as she has been in the background in the other stories. She has had to balance the two sides but made a choice that pushes her one way. It really leads to some surprises.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

OOOOOOO!

ROMA! I knew she was bad news from book one, I just had a feeling. I felt so bad for Lynx during this book, but I think she needed this so her character could grow and she could come into her own. Not just her magic, but who she is as a person. I hope in the next book that she gets treated with more respect and less with the kid gloves, because that's seriously getting old! I feel for her.

But, can we please discuss ARIS?? Woooo boy, get you some! I'm keeping serious fingers crossed for him to also learn how to cut loose a little in the next book, both of their characters need it. Briar and Samira acted in typical Briar and Samira form, and as I stated before I don't think I have ever wanted to beat up a fictional character as much as Briar, but I also love her, soooo? I think that just solidifies how great of authors these ladies are!

Can't wait for the next installment!

I voluntarily reviewed a copy of "A WITCH'S STORM" OMG!!!! Raven Steele & Ava Mason you outdid your self didn't think the Rouen Chronicles could get any better such creative writing to pull your readers in and not let go so addicting and got live all the badass characters especially Samira, Briar, and Lynx.
This story has so much mystery, deceit, betrayal, action, secrets, lies, suspense, intrigue, pain, heartache, love, passion, humor, you gave all the feels and twists to.
Lynx is leading a double life you will be shocked when you find out what she's done she has Aris in her corner he's lead a double life so he knowS the toll it can take he might approve of what she's done but they have a strong connection.
I definitely recommend to get this book the finale will be epic Soooo can't wait for the next book such an addicting series. PHENOMINAL READ!!!!

I totally did not see this coming. I mean Cassandra is a real b word but, I guess she does have a heart. It's probably pretty small.😂 As usual this book is chock full of exciting adventure & fighting. It also takes a walk on the wild side with a sex party, FYI. Things are getting down to the wire & they need to do whatever it takes to win the upcoming war. So Lynx goes full bad a**! And gets the info they need at great sacrifice to her soul. She does things she isn't proud of! Aris understands what she is going through. He does this type of stuff nightly. Oh by the way they need to get the Abydos. They were betrayed. I won't ruin that for you. The poor person struggles enough throughout the book. Thank God they had Aris. I love Gor by the was. His disguise was the perfect breed of dog too!

They have done it again!
Every time I read an instalment of The Rouen Chronicles I think it can't possibly get any better and then Raven and Ava, with their absolutely amazing creativity, manage to go and do it!
They have got to be the best team of writers ever!
At the end of the last book and the start of A Witch's Storm, I couldn't believe what Lynx had done and couldn't see how she would ever redeem herself. As the story went on, I began to understand the emotional battle she had going on with the manipulation from her mother.
I did hope for a bit more heat between Lynx and Aris but maybe in the next book? After all, Briar and Samira both have their guys so hopefully Aris will be Lynx's. I
Another fantastic book from the two best authors, ever!

What can I say about a witch’s storm? What a wild ride, so many betrayals and so much heartbreak. I had no idea who to trust through most of this book. I was side eyeing people I’ve trusted explicitly in the past books. After the cliffhanger in the last book, I loved getting to the bottom of this Lynx twist. And finally getting to know her better. I loved the progression of her relationship with Aris. And can I just say it here, I called the big reveal at the end of a Shifter’s Heart but got sidetracked by Lynx’s betrayal. Bravo Ava and Raven! This series is A1!

Another great story

Lynx has been going behind everyone’s back and lying since the beginning. She fights her conscience and finally tells the truth which turns everyone but Aris against her. Samara and Briar feel betrayed and Briar takes every barb against Lynx. Lynx is struggling to not fall into a depression but Aris keeps her grounded. She gets into a lot of trouble trying to redeem herself to her friends. We finally get to find out who Ivona is and she is one step closer to bring forth Trianus.

Although this is book 11 of the series it has continued to grow and hold the readers attention. The characters have their own stories whilst also being entwined with all the others. The twists and turns throughout this series keep you engaged and then you have conflict, romance and action, not to mention some pretty tense nail biting moments.
This latest addition focuses mainly on Lynx and picks up where the last book finished. There is a lot going on her so pay attention, having said that the book is not overly heavy, it is exciting though.
Excellent series for any paranormal fan.

Secrets and lies

I like reading from everyone's perspective as you feel like you understand the Character more ane become more invested in the outcome. Lynx certainly got more than she bargained for since she rented out the house to Briar a d Samira. The path to self discovery has been dark and twisted at times yet she has fought to stay in the light and protected her friends when they needed help. The prophecy is almost here and they are running out of time. The devil is in the details.

First let me state that I received an Advance Reader Copy, (ARC), but this in no way influences my review. I always leave an honest review.

Holy shiznet!!! This book is awesome. It's the first half of Lynx's story and I couldn't put it down. I can't wait for the other half. You're not really left with a cliffhanger, but you are left wanting and needing to finish her story. I recommend this read. 5 Thumbs up

Enthralling series

For this trio of powerful super naturals sacrifices seem to be the norm. They must fight together pass the darkness inside each of them to save humanity and there own souls. The desperate climb from darkness has been a struggle for them all and in some way unsuccessful. This series I'd captivating and intriguing. One of the most unique super natural series I have ever had the privilege of reading.

I received an Arc and the opinions and views are my own. In this story you find out Lynx is not who you thought she was. Sweet turned bad. An interesting read that has plots within plots and secrets brought out into the open. I recommend this series to all, just be warned they are dark and not a happily ever after type book. I cannot say too much about what I liked because of spoilers but I can say that Cassandra surprised me.

OMG Lynx!! Once again we're in Rouen and Lynx and the others are still fighting the bad guys. Lots of action and all the feels with this story. Love Gor who Lynx gets as a familiar and Ares is also in this story! Some twists that I didn't see coming which was great and it left me ready for the next book! Loved it! I am voluntarily reviewing an arc.

Another great book in the Rouen Chronicles series! This one focuses on Lynx and the double life she is having to live due to situations that we do not find out about til the end of the book. I love this author duo as they always pull me into their worlds and keep me embedded there wanting the next book as soon as possible

Cannot put this down..

Great work again ladies. Looking forward to the final book. Tho I have to say I would love to see Oz, Loxley, Shade and company settled in the end, even if it's just an epilogue set in the future. Who knows maybe that's already the plan.

Wow that ending! Though I did guess the big twist a couple chapters in advance, so it wasn't entirely unexpected. But I do love a good redemption arc (or two) and can't wait for the next story!
