"Dark, twisted, and endlessly entertaining. Killer Love is a romantic saga unlike any other!"
"Just when I thought it couldn't get better, it did. My heart belongs to this series!"
I gave her a baby… and she started a war.
There’s been a decade of peace between our mafia families, but one moment of passion could tear the whole damn truce apart.
Sofia asked for my help on the night before her wedding day. She couldn’t bear the thought of marrying Gio Zappia, but they never gave her a choice.
There was only one thing she could think to do... One thing that would destroy the Zappia family from the inside out. She asked me for a baby and I couldn’t say no to her.
I haven’t seen her since that night. It’s been three years. Now, I’ve been framed for murder and the only person who can help me is her rotten owner, Gio.
When I arrived at the Zappia estate, I didn’t expect to walk around the corner and see my own eyes staring back at me.
I have a son… and his mother has bruises on her face.
To hell with the truce. I’m not leaving here without my son. And I’m taking Sofia with me, too. No matter what.
KILLER LOVE is a full-length novel about true love, revenge, and everything in-between. It's the first book in the KILLER LOVE saga by Tabatha Drake.
Author’s Note: This book was previously published as Bloodlines. It has been revised for new readers, including extended and deleted scenes for old readers to enjoy.
This was a good read. When Sofia ask Luka for a favor he can't say no. Three years later he learns that he has a son and Sofia is being abused war breaks out between the two families. Luka is not a good man Luka and Sophia met when they were kids and they felt a connection to one another. Luka was alive when Sophia was around and she felt protected by him. This was a good read I have read this author before. This book was previously released and give another name. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this series.
MY RATING: 4* TITLE: Killer Love AUTHOR: Tabatha Drake SERIES: Killer Love Saga RELEASE DATE: 06 August 2019 CLIFFHANGER: Yes but for book 2 in the series
This is my first read by Tabatha and I love mafia romances so much I very rarely think twice about reading such books once I read the blurb. But I must admit I am getting a bit reluctant to read them nowadays as they are more and more failing to punch me in the chest the way I expect mafia romance to do. I was not disappointed with this one at all.
When Sofia finds herself orphaned at a tender age of 5, she and her sister are adopted into the Italian mafia family so she can bread the next generation of killers. That’s all she know and she’s been trained her whole life for it. But when she was younger, she’s shown more kindness by a boy than she’s experienced her whole life. As a result, she never forgets him. Twelve years later, they meet again, the time the day before her wedding. Abused and tortured and seeking absolute revenge, she makes a request to this boy that turns everybody's life upside down and starts a war.
Luka is son and heir to one of Russia’s most notorious mob families. He is always been rebellious, and troublesome. So when his family is invited to a truce of sorts by the Italian mob family, on one of his escapades, he makes acquaintance with a sweet young girl, terrified and vulnerable. Luka never forgets her and when they meet again at her wedding to another man, although he knows he shouldn’t, he can’t deny that he is attracted to her. So much so that when he asks her for a favour, as dangerous as it is for them and his family, Luka can’t deny her. And together they make a pact that is the beginning of the end.
Okay, I get why Sofia wanted to stick it to Gio considering how he’s treated her all these years, but I can’t believe the chances (it almost feels made up) that the plan to have a baby will just go off without a hitch. I know its fiction and it only takes one time to make a baby but
Anyway, I loved Sofia’s strength. Her defiance and sass. Her patience while she smiles in the faces of those she hates while she plots and schemes behind their backs. As for Luka, I loved everything about him.
The story is action packed and full of suspense which I really loved. I didn’t give it a 5* because I thought the supporting characters were either a bit undeveloped or just weird. For example Yuri, how can the heir to a mafia family be such a terrible shot? I get he’s on the business side, but surely he has to be able atleast aim the damn target and shoot right?
Romance genre: mafia Part of a series: Yes (Killer Love) Length: 318 pages
Plot: Sofia meets Luka when she is very young, and then again right before she has to marry Gio. She doesn't want to marry Gio and her only purpose is to breed him a son, so she asks Luka to take her virginity, hoping that she would get pregnant. She does, and later she will need Luka to save her and their son. There's some really great action scenes in this book leading up to the conclusion.
Character development: Poor Sofia! She needed saving, and while it took some time, she finally got out of the family she had been placed in. She didn't get to leave the mafia life, but I think she was okay with that. Luka was the ultimate hero - measured, determined, possessive, adoring. He took Sofia and protected her with his life. This was a sweet story with just the right amount of heat and action.
Would I read more from this author/in this series: yes Next book in the series:Secret Love
I really liked the first book in The Killer Love series. Not a standalone, must be read in order. It is a great start to the series. Luka is the youngest of the Lutrova boys. Sofia has no choice but to marry Giovanni Zappia. Her and her sister were taken in as children by the Zappia family after their parents died. Zappia women are not treated fairly. They have to bow down to the men.
Sofia is determined to get the last laugh. She hates Gio and will never give him a biological child. The night before her wedding she hatches a plan to get pregnant by Luka.
Loaded with tons of action, Violence, and steamy moments.
The last 2 chapters introduce the next couples story.

Oh my. Where do I begin. I've read this non stop and might have finished within a couple hours. Yep, just couldn't stop turning the pages. This book is sinister and dark and oh so deliciously entrancing. Luka and Sofia, their story had me hanging onto each word, each page wanting to know what happens next. Oh my, I fell for Luka so hard. Sofia is one lucky woman but poor thing sure deserves someone like him for what she has been through. But salvation does come for her in the form of luka. Right from page 1, when we see Luka and Sofia meet each other for the first time to how circumstances bring them together mostly for Sofia being a brave women. I loved how strong she was, to yet find a way from what she knew was an unavoidable fate for her. I also absolutely loved fox's character and that ending, I'm just glad I have the next book in the series to binge onto. A MUST MUST READ FOR SURE FOR MAFIA LOVERS. Loved loved freaking loved this one. 5 +++ stars. 😍❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Dark, tense and suspenseful, this is a series that is going to grab you and not let go. Sofia and Luka's romance is simply epic. This story of a destined, if forbidden love and mob families will have your emotions spinning and perching on the edge of your seat. The storyline is complex, the characters complicated and the chemistry sizzling. I thought Sofia was heartbreaking, strong and clever, while Luka was intense and swoon worthy. The pull of attraction between these two is undeniable and powerful and their emotional connection tangible. Drama, emotional turmoil, action, violence, twists, betrayals, steam and sweet love are all represented here and they make for one very entertaining and delicious read. I am posting an independent, impartial review.
I read this book a week ago, before picking up the book I'm currently reading. It was a real page-turner. However, I'm trying to write the review, and I don't remember much about the book. So that makes me question how good the book was...
3.5 stars. The premise of this book was really good and made for a great story line, the only thing is I feel like there was a lot of lose ends such as what happened with Gio? did his father agree? What was the opening scene of the book and it’s relevance? I felt like this book zoomed by a lot of things that could’ve happened and was going like a mile a minute. They get Sophia, Gio gets her back, Fox saves her luka gets her back. Gio isn’t dead because he had a parachute but we don’t see him again after that. Then the ending was a complete curve ball which felt like it had nothing to do with anything.

Liked the story. Loved luka. He was the one you were drawn to from the beginning. He has this air about j. Yes mafia and can certainly kill with the best of them but he is not a horrible person. And he certainly treats others with respect. Unlike Giovanni. So glad Sofia got to make a choice for herself. Yes it was in spite but that was her only choice and she chose to take it away from gio. I would have done the same if I was faced with a life of no choices and and no voice. Loved when they let their secret be known. Looking forward to more luka and Sofia.
My first read from the author and i like it. I specially love the different between the Italian and the Russian family dynamic. Slowly but in absolute sureness, i love Luka and Sofia. Although they seems reckless and selfish at first, but in time i see her reason. Then i see him as the man every women wants. The ending is perfect. To see Luka stand there and beat down the Italian or what ever left from them he is giving them, my ovaries just exploded! Luka definitely set the bar high for the next man in the series.
This was fun to read, as I had read the previous published version. It was great getting a more detailed, behind-the-scenes view in some scenarios with as much of the action as I expected from Tabatha.
I am excited to read the remainder of the Killer Love saga.
I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.
Great story and characters. I love the instant connection between Sofia and Luka as children and then again when they meet as adults. There is mob violence and some steam towards the end. I wish they did more falling vs the insta-love. But still and interesting read.
This is a novel with shocking moments and plenty of tension. Likable characters that all have their own personality. The plot evolves over years rather than a few and keeps you entertained. It also keeps you reading to the very end. How ever at times i feel that it is a softer mafia novel than others that i have read, but it does not get in the way of enjoying the novel.
This was a good enough book. Sofia and Luka meet as children and there’s an instant connection. As adults, Sofia asks Luka for a favour which he cannot say no to. This favour comes with consequences that unravel 3 years later. It’s a fast paced dark romance. Action, love, family, betrayal, secret groups
I thought this was an excellent book. I Loved the story. I loved the main characters. There were three wording errors. Not bad for a book of 300 pages, but I wish they hadn't been there to mar the near perfect work. Fascinating circumstances and plot. Unique mafia tale, with the darkness you'd expect. Highly recommend for those who enjoy this genre.
I must say that this story flowed very smoothly and that it had me at the edge of my seat just wanting to know what happened next. As much as I enjoyed the book, I felt the romance was a bit rushed between Luka and Sofia, wished that they had gotten to know each other more and better. It lacked the romance bit.
This was crazy. This isn’t an old school family but a psychotic family with totally twisted views of women and their place in the family. Young Luka and Sophia’s first meeting breaks your heart. But I stood up and cheered with Sophia’s second meeting.
This was a new story by a new author to me. I love anything to do With the mafia trope and this doesn't fail to deliver. Lukas and Sofia have a tricky relationship to navigate before they can find their HEA.
Really enjoyable read.love the characters and the storyline. So happy that Sophia's life improved by the end and she was where she should be.Can't wait to read the next book...Fox and Dani here we go.
This series is going to be exciting! The male character is introduced when he was a young boy and his future love is also a young child. They are from two different mafia families. It’s years later before they meet again.
No sure how I feel about this one. Not my normal cup of tea, tho it’s got violence and sex and a happy ending. The prologue was weird, I kept waiting for that to happen, but it didn’t. It seemed to have bits missing or maybe I missed a page or 2 🤔
