This was an okay read.

I appreciate that the author stuck to her main characters this time. So there was no distracting POV - yay! ☺️

I liked Silas and Maya, tho her entire stick of “this won’t work bc of the reputation I have to uphold” is kind of pointless if you have MILLIONS of dollars from both the trust fund AND the millions she made from the club, to fall back onto.

So what?
Even if people won’t take her seriously anymore as this mysterious high priestess of the club - sure it would sting, but then she can sell that club, go travel and open another one with basically her spare change.

So I don’t subscribe to the entire drama that she created. But - the thing is: The drama is needed in the novella bc otherwise there would be absolutely no drama whatsoever.

A widower who grieved over his late wife but already has her blessing for a new love, before the novella starts, and is ready to move on and love again?
Hardly some kind of conflict or tension that this book could bank on.

They were both into each other.
They both loved each other.
That’s basically it 😅

So mayas imo unreasonable drama was needed to give this novella some kind of arc to create a story that is more than just smut. 🤷🏼‍♀️

Tho I liked how forward Silas was. He doesn’t keep his occupation at the club a secret, he would openly tell people he’s dating the owner of a sex club.
Which should not be the big deal (it’s 2022 people, come on. Sex Work is work, now piss off) but sadly it still is. So I liked that.

I think Silas seriously carried the novella. 👌🏻

So yeah. The writing style was ok / good.
The smut was nice. The length was both a bit short and for what it was too long 😅

I will read more of the authors books for sure. ☺️

For all the power Maya holds as a businesswoman and owner of an exclusive sex club, Forbidden Fantasies, her insecurities keep playing out in her mind. Nobody knows, however, because she keeps them well-hidden, but she can't hide anything from her head of security, Silas. Maya has always felt something special for Silas, but he's still in love with his wife who died of cancer five years ago, or so she thinks. Something switched inside Silas' mind and he decided that he was going to make his move with Maya, because he couldn't stand by and watch as other men took what was truly his. It's a highly erotic story that is made even more so by Maya and Silas' characters. Once again, Ri Paige does a wonderful job with the narration. Her clear, dynamic voice and intonation gives each of the characters an individual personality as they come to life.

Another fantastic audiobook in the Forbidden Fantasies series. I was very excited to read the High Priestess’ story. I really liked that once again even though this was a shorter book, we still could still feel how hard it was for her to show her vulnerability, to feel like she was worthy of love. It took a strong man to break down her walls and to stand up to her and show her how worthy she really was. She just needed to take a chance and great things happened! The spice again is so good! I’m really liking Victoria Silk’s writing and the narrator is doing a great job of bringing the characters to life. I was fortunate enough to receive this audiobook as a gift. This review is my own personal unbiased opinion.

This book was a tough one for me.

Nothing to do with the author or the content but the hgh and mighty attitude of the FMC. It was like she wanted love and did everything in her power to make sure that love did not want her, and that is not how Love works. I love that Silas made is position known and his heart ws ready for her..and that he was patient and wanted her but she was aserious turne off... I got the imporession that her worth was wrapped up in her back and not how others are inspired by her.

Maya runs the hottest sex club in Manhattan. She occasionally joins the scenes, which keeps her guests hoping she will join theirs. Maya really wants a loving relationship. Silas, a widower, works security. He falls for Maya, and decides to let her know. There is plenty of hot scenes, a small story line. Overall it is well enough written. I had a hard time staying engaged. The narration is well done. I received a free copy of this audiobook, and am voluntarily leaving my review.

Audiobook Review

This is another entertaining listen in this series. It is a good mix of heat and emotions. Maya and Silas are good together and it was nice to see the two find their way. Maya worries that Silas is stuck in the past yet it seems that she is the one that will not let the past go. The two are good together and I enjoyed the way Silas fights for what they could have. Theirs is a hot and sext story that will pull you in right from the start.

I was really happy to listen to this right after finishing The Judge as it made the tale complete. It was obvious that Maya & Silas should be together despite the obstacles in the way. Some steamy parts along the way but the story really made this a great listen and was, in my opinion, more solid than the spicy bits. I really enjoyed this one.

Nicely narrated and a great listen. Recommended.
