The series just keeps getting better and better. The humour and mysteries abound, and this book places Lexi in an undercover role, once again trying (and succeeding) in solving a murder. As always I can only recommend the series to anyone wanting a delightful, chuckle filled and entertaining story.

I'm hooked on this series!

Book #4 was as good as the previous 3 books, in other words, it was very enjoyable. I can only repeat my earlier reviews, so I don't want to waste time, when I can get on to book #5!

Another fun installment

Lexie has been sent back to school in the latest installment of the Mackenzie Coven novels. Her cousin’s alma mater has had some trouble and Lexie has been sent to find the cause. Except she’s sent to a finishing school her personal version of hell. Deceitful instructors, devious and neglectful students & a murder Lexie has her work cut out for her. A great fun read, I truly enjoyed it!!

Crafty

I'm reading the series again and still loving it. Sonia writes with wit and charm. Lexi is a down to earth witch struggling to find her place amongst her very traditional cousins.

Back to school for Lexie..

When the exclusive and rather unique Lauriston Academy for Ladies & their Feline Companions contact Mirabelle about a series of bizarre thefts, which include the long tresses of one of the students, at her Alma Mater she agrees to help them out... by sending Lexie.

It's a complete culture shock for Lexie, who managed to avoid attending "witch school". With lessons in elocution, deportment and regular promenades; a uniform dating back to the 1800's and a ban on magic within the grounds, however will Lexie manage?

What's more the case takes on a darker turn when one of the staff is murdered.. so it's not just the thefts she has to solve, although that's rather easier to resolve than she'd thought it would be!

With a new O'Rourke detective popping up to assist she's going to have to find a way to keep him off the ladies radar while she's undercover.

One glaring plot hole... How does Catherine know what the food was like being as she did a correspondence course?? Lol.. otherwise it would have been a 5*

Witch Charm is the first Mackenzie Coven Mystery I have read even though it is fourth in the series. I was able to enjoy the book thoroughly even though I haven't read the previous books in the series. There are a few places that mention previous events, but they didn't take away from my enjoyment. I have been inspired to read the beginning of the series and get caught up.
In Witch Charm, Lexie is sent to the very strict and very proper Lauriston Academy to investigate reports of theft. Lexie and her cat Luna trip over a body within hours of arriving at Lauriston. Now the pressure is really on for Lexie and Luna to solve the murder and thefts so that business can get back to usual at Lauriston and Lexie can prove that she deserves her position in the witch community.

Witch Charm is the fourth book in the MacKenzie coven mystery series by Sonia Parin. I enjoyed this book as I did the previous ones, but I just feel like something is missing I can’t quite put my finger on. I’m enjoying all of the banter between Lexie, Luna, Jonathan, Octavia, Mirabelle, and Catherine but I just feel like there’s some thing that could take this series over the edge and make it that much better. The author does a great job of writing and there were only minor grammatical errors. I found plenty of humor but not quite as much “mystery as I’m looking for. I will continue to read the series however and see where it goes from here.

This book is my favourite in this series so far. The cat Luna has been much more developed in this one, and I do so love a cat character - IF it's done well, and this one is. I also really like the combination of the light fantasy with detective fiction rather than romance - it gives the books an added pizazz and stops them from sinking into the general run of the popular sub-genre of witch fantasy.

I was delighted to be able to give this book four stars, despite a number of proofing errors which annoyed me.

Poor Lexie can't catch a break

Roped into another case, one with a murder to boot, Lexie has to not only attend school at a prestigious witch school, but also determine who killed one of the tutors. More like a finishing school, definitely not where Lexie wants to be. And without powers with a murderer loose means she'll have to hope her cousins and the guardian detective will have her back.

Trying to solve a couple of mysteries while your cat familiar nags you about her needs means you just might find yourself getting zapped by a killer witch.

Lexie's cousins send her off to their alma mater Lauriston Academy for Ladies & their Feline Companions, to pose as a student and investigate a theft. But when she discovers a body in the kitchen fireplace, it turns into a murder investigation. Between the frilly dress code, the abysmal food, the snarky students, and her cat Luna suddenly having a crisis, Lexie has almost more than she can cope with. Of course Luna is a graduate of the academy, too. Entertaining continuation of the series.

This is definitely the best book in the series I've read so far.
Lexi and Luna are off to the Lauriston Academy (a witch prep school, and her cousin’s alma mater,
Lexi uncovers a series of thefts with evidence being found in unlikely places.
But on top of that.
Lexi arrives just in time to start a murder investigation as she finds a body in the kitchen fireplace.
Lexi's powers are also growing.

A witch who can't use her powers?

Well, at the academy, no witch powers are allowed on campus. Someone is stealing students things and placing them in the teachers bedrooms. Then an instructor is found dead, not of natural causes. Who could have done it and why? Lexie must find those responsible.

These books are very entertaining. A witch in training to take the high chair of the American region. She gets assigned the most interesting cases and with the help of her feline companion, her cousins and the O’Rourke group, she manages to get the job done. Can’t wait to see what her next adventure entails.

Lexie and her feline companion, Luna are back. They head to the academy to solve some problems and find much worse than they thought. That includes a dead body. A little witch charm and some quick thinking will have readers glad they grabbed this cozy mystery.

Loved it!

Read in one sitting. Could not put down. Wish they were longer because I don’t want to leave the witchy world.
