Karen is back with more lateral thinking puzzles and riddles! The difficulty level of these puzzles varies, but no matter how difficult you may find them to be, there is always an answer. Even if you answer the puzzle incorrectly, you may find it fun to explain why your answer could be correct as well. These are also great to use for a game night with friends and family. Quiz them to see how much they know. You never know what kind of answers you may get. All of these puzzles are lateral thinking puzzles—meaning you won’t need a calculator nor pen and paper. All you need is your brain. The puzzles may be short or long, but they give you just enough information to figure out the answer. Make sure you don’t over analyze them; otherwise, you may end up missing the answer all together.
This book is worth perusing for an hour if you can get it for free, but that's about it.
There are typos everywhere, sometimes making the puzzle unsolvable because key information is wrong or missing.
A lot of these are math or simple logic puzzles, which is fun, but not lateral thinking.
A good chunk of the better puzzles are popular ones you've likely heard before.
Of the true lateral thinking puzzles with no bad typos, several read like stories cut in half. Someone may be able to guess the gist of the solution, but none of the specifics.
For example: A man gets an arm in the mail, looks at it, then buries it in the woods. Why?
Solution: he was stranded on an island with five friends. They all made a pact to cut off their left arms for food, except the surgeon, who did the cutting. After they were rescued, the surgeon cut off his own left arm to finish the pact and mailed it to one of the friends.
Fun, but ?
Don't waste money on this, but it's fine if you want to kill some time and like logic puzzles as well as lateral thinking ones.
