They can't be in the same room without arguing--or without sparks flying.
Alete Keetch knows she is too independent, too opinionated, and too headstrong to get along with someone enough to ever get married. But that's fine by her--she gets all the fulfillment she needs by running her favorite town celebrations. Until the much-too-attractive new Fire Chief comes to town, determined to cancel them.
Zane Collins can't trust anyone but himself. When he moves to Nestled Hollow to become the Fire Chief and prepare the town for a potential disaster, he plans to keep his heart as closed off as ever. He's not looking for any connections--he just wants to do his job of protecting the town well and use the festival money to do it.
But it seems the only way he can accomplish his goals is to work with the captivating but infuriating woman who's trying to thwart his every move.
Neither one is willing to back down from what they know is right. But neither one can deny the attraction building between them. Can they get past their differences long enough to fall in love?

Meg Easton is the USA Today bestselling author of contemporary romances and romantic comedies with fun, memorable, swoon-worthy characters, and settings you’ll want to pack up and move to. She lives at the foot of a mountain with her name on it (or at least one letter of her name) in Utah. She loves gardening, bike riding, baking, swimming before the sun rises, and spending time with her husband and three kids.
I’m always on the lookout for a great clean romance book! I love that Meg Easton’s books are just that.
This one has so many fun things about it. I love Nestled Hollow and all of my “friends” that I’ve met there before. The characters are fantastic. And the romance is my favorite part.
This one features Zane and Alete. They are both great characters, they have great chemistry. But…there’s one problem. They can’t see eye to eye on anything. They’re constantly fighting.
I loved the way Alete cared about her town. She goes out of her way to do anything she can think of to help. She’s even formed a soccer league. And she forms a second in the book to help someone she’s close to.
Zane cares about Nestled Hollow in a different way. He wants to make things safer. I really liked the way he grew through the book. He learned that you really do need those around you to make life brighter.
I loved this book so much! Make sure to read it!
I was sent an e-copy of More Than Enemies on the Bridge of Main Street as a gift from the author. All opinions are my own.
I love this cozy town and the great community of Nestled Hollow. I've listened to most of the books in this series and have really enjoyed them all. The characters are wonderful, the town is very cozy and full of community members who care about each other and come together for all kinds of great causes.
Alete has lived there her whole life and loves the people there fiercely and wants to serve and help them. But when Zane shows up trying to implement some safety plans as the town's new fire chief and it means pulling funding from some of these celebrations that are important to the town and especially Alete, sparks fly.
There's chemistry budding between these two from their first meeting and I loved each scene they were in together, wondering what banter or swoony-ness was going to happen next. They both have reasons behind why they are so passionate about their causes but they fail to move past the frustrations enough to talk it out rationally. When forced to work together, they finally start seeing and understanding.
I just love the characters that Meg Easton creates in all of her books. I'm a fan who is definitely hooked on her writing. If you want a cozy and sweet read that will give you all the happy feels, this book and series will definitely be reads you'll want to enjoy. I've listened/read to them out of order and haven't felt lost, so you can read these as stand-alones.
Content: Clean.
I received a copy from the author. All thoughts and opinions in the review are my own.
WHAT IT'S ABOUT Alete Keetch knows she is too independent, too opinionated, and too headstrong to get along with someone enough to ever get married. But that’s fine by her—she gets all the fulfillment she needs by running her favorite town celebrations. Until the much-too-attractive new Fire Chief comes to town, determined to cancel them.

MY TAKE I love these Nestled Hollow stories. All the characters are rich and complex with varied personalities. In this case, we've got a couple of strong-willed and opinionated people who see the world in their own unique (and reasonable ways--meaning they both want good things for the community, but the town fathers can't afford them all). Yet when their ways of helping the people in the community seem to be at odds, it creates a lot of conflict.
Zane kept telling himself that he'd acted like a jerk toward Alete. And he had. Every single time. He's dang lucky she's a forgiving person. By the same virtue, Alete was also one to jump to conclusions. It was a situation where if they could get past their biases and work together they could be a formidable team. But each of them bears scars that make that difficult.
The romance is swoonworthy and sweet. A delightful read!
This is the 2nd book in the series I had read. I know it is actually #5 in the series, and I will more than likely to back to read 2 - 4. I did enjoy this book much more than the first book.
For all of the arguing and disagreeing Zane and Alete did, I could definitely pick up on their chemistry. The all nighter scenes were funny, and I actually enjoyed Alete's competitive nature.
I have noticed a recurring theme. The H, has issues with his parental units. It was even more obvious in book 1. There is also a definite dose of realism with Ammie and Alete coming to terms with Ammie's diagnosis. It is not a sad book, it just includes some real life issues.
Alete and Zane both had issues that they were able to overcome in order to compromise and make a relationship work.
A sweet, small town romance, with an HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.
Before I begin, I would like to thank Meg Easton for allowing me to read a copy of her book, More than Enemies on the Bridge of Main Street, which is the sixth book of her Nestled Hollow Series and is available on Amazon.
Alete Keetch loves running her favorite town celebration and has no interest in pursuing romance. She thinks she’s too independent, opinionated and stubborn for a marriage with anyone to work. When Zane Collins, Nestled Hollow’s new Fire Chief, decides to cut some of the town festivals for resources preventing a potential natural disaster, that’s when they start to clash. Both of them see the other as a hindrance to what needs to be done, and that they individually know what’s the right course of action. Is it possible for Zane and Alete to get along, and perhaps become something more?
This book was great. You have Alete, a strong, hardworking, independent, beautiful young woman devoted to taking care of her family and community. You have Zane, a determined, ambitious, and handsome young man whose sole focus is to prepare Nestled Hollow from facing natural disasters. Alete’s grandmother was wonderful, and it was great seeing familiar faces again. The interactions between Alete and Zane were definitely charged in more ways than one, and their banter was funny as well. Both of the main characters had hard times growing up, and it was good to see them work through their pasts and misconceptions not only for each other, but also for themselves. Overall, if you like great family dynamics, humor, complex characters, and a small-town enemies-to-lovers sweet romance with low amounts of spice, then I would highly recommend this book. I think this book is as good as the others in this series but I liked it the least. Totally personal preference. I just don't like watching people battle against each other. I'm not a fan of personal conflict. So this is totally on me and not the book itself. Obviously I knew they would be enemies going in. I just hoped I'd be able to overlook it more than I did.
The main characters were good people who were both seeking for something good. But I felt like there was not enough attempt to find a way to do both. Until the end. Then it was all good. I enjoyed their banter when they were getting along, like on their stay up 24 hours thing.
I loved Alete's relationship with her grandmother. They were very sweet. And her parents are too. Zane is overcompensating for childhood issues with his family. That was rather sad.
The book is clean and Nestled Hollow is one of those small towns Hallmark movies are made of. Actually the book could be a Hallmark movie.
No sex, language or violence * I received a complimentary copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
More than Enemies on the Bridge of Main Street is the 6th book in the Nestles Hollow series. While some familiar characters may make an appearance, this can absolutely be enjoyed as a standalone as well.
I have enjoyed ever visit I have made to Nestled Hollow, and this one was no exception. I love this sense of community in this little fictional town, and I think this one shows that well. Alete and Zane were both wonderfully written characters. Their attraction was immediate, but they soon found themselves on opposing sides... her fighting to save town traditions and him fighting to make changes that would cost the town money taking away from those traditions. I loved getting to see deeper into both of their reasonings as the story goes on. They both have some rather surprising moments in their past and I found that the more I got to know their stories, the more I enjoyed them. This was a sweet romance and definitely had all the Hallmark romance vibes... in the best way possible. Whether this is your first visit to Nestled Hollow or just your most recent, this is definitely one worth checking out.
**ARC received for consideration. All opinions are my own.
A very enjoyable and captivating addition to the Nestled Hollow series by Meg Easton. This story is about Alete Keetch who owns the Nestled Hollow Inn and Zack Collins who is the new "fire chief/head of emergency management". They meet on his first day in town and something clicks within each of them at that time. However, they find out their individual thoughts are like oil and water! A very engaging story that pulls you back into this small community as you watch how far people will go to get the outcome that they want. I have loved reading this series and seeing the growth in this author's writing. Her characters draw you in to join as they laugh, cry, or enjoy life to the fullest! Alete's grandma was definitely my favorite character, but it was interesting to watch Alete and Zack stumble around each other to get their HEA!
I received an ARC copy of the book. This is my voluntary, honest and completely personal review. VICKI FROM WYOMING
Loved Alete and Zane's story!! They both had to adjust their thinking, especially Alete, before they could get to their HEA, but they did it!! Alete had let some ideas mess up her thinking for years, and thought she should have from the beginning what her parents had, and didn't realize they had had to work at their marriage just like everyone has to, and to learn to compromise what they wanted with the other person to make their marriage work. Marriages are never going to be "perfect" because the two people in them aren't perfect, and no matter how well you get along, it's still going to take work. Zane had to learn that community wasn't bad, and that you could get people to do things for their good if you made it fun and if you actually interacted with them for more than just what you wanted. Great read!!
I received complimentary copy of this book, was not required to leave a review, and the opinion expressed is my own.
This audiobook is a sweet, clean, small town romance about two strong individuals who are passionate about their work. Alete Keetch is the heart of the town. She believes that the multiple events she manages in town, is what helps people help each other and creates a community. Meanwhile, Zane Collins is the new fire chief who’s come to town determined to make it more than prepared for a possible catastrophe. Even it it means cancelling all the special events he finds are not as important as his goal. But to accomplish his goal, he has to work with Alete. Even though he is attracted to her, she not only drives him crazy, he’s not interested in a relationship. Will these two realize that maybe working together will show the other they both want the same thing? Or will lack of communication slash all hope of finding hope and love? If you are knew to the series, rest assure that it’s a stand alone to be thoroughly enjoyed. The narrator did a good delivery of the dialogue.
In this story Meg has written a sweet and satisfying romance with plenty of chemistry.
I love the magnetic push-pull attraction between Zane and Alete. There are always two sides to every conflict. The question is, what do you do when both sides are right?
Zane overcompensates for something that happened during his childhood. He became the protector, and no one gets in the way of his plan to keep Nestled Hollow safe.
Alete has given up any idea of a relationship, and pours herself into the community. She’s happy being independent. She has her family, and doesn’t need a man. Or does she?
Can love and respect overcome their differences, and lead to a perfect HEA?

I was given a copy of this book by the author. These are my honest thoughts about the book.
I really enjoyed returning to Nestled Hollow to read about Alete and Zanes's story. They are two stubborn people who are passionate about their beliefs. Alete for her sense of community and Zane for keeping the town safe in the event of any emergency. Unfortunately their beliefs mean they do a lot of disagreeing as they are thrown together and become more than enemies. I enjoyed learning about their backgrounds that made them who they are today. Their chemistry is undeniable and has the town and the reader wondering what will happen next. I also liked Alete's spunky grandmother who really added to the story. It was a lot of fun to read about the antics during Alete and Zanes's twenty-four hour stay awake even too. I received an advance copy of this book and I willingly chose to write an honest review.
This sweet, clean romance is the ultimate in small town romance. Nestled Hollow is the town where everyone really does know each other. They have block parties and small festivals to bring the townspeople together. So when a new fire chief is brought in and has very strong feelings of how everything should be done, it doesn't go over too well. Alete especially has problems with the hard headed, hunky, gorgeous guy. He wants to do away with her festivals to take the funds for emergency management programs! Little does he know that he's not the only hard headed one in town.
Sparks are flying all over the place in this story--both good and bad. It makes for a very entertaining read--or listen. I listened to the audio version of this book and the narration by Liz Krane was very pleasant and fun to listen to.
I was gifted a complimentary copy of this audiobook. All thoughts are my own.
Prepare to smile a lot! This story was entertaining and inspirational. It brought home the old adage "there are two sides to every story." The dialogue written by Meg Easton always draws you in, making you feel as if you, too, are part of the conversation. Her character descriptions, their flaws as well as their attributes, make you feel as if you know them personally. I am always amazed at how this author creates such fun games and activities for the characters to participate in. That takes imagination! This is a story of hope, faith, love, forgiveness and happily every after. I received this copy free from the author and am under no obligation to leave a review. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am freely sharing my opinion.
I loved this new installment in the Nestled Hollow series. First of all the town of Nestled Hollow itself is like a character--I want to live there. It's an inspirational story of how one little girl helped to make her town a kinder and more gentle place to live. The the two main characters in this book, Zane and Alete are such awesome people, flawed but with the best of intentions. They clash and can only see their own points of view in the beginning of the story but as they get to know and care for one another, they grow to appreciate and love one another--then work to help one another reach their goals. Highly recommend! I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
Great clean, story with heart. I think the characters are very well matched and are driven for different yet good purposes. I like Alete, she's independent and feisty. I like Zane too, he's very career focused. Story is very entertaining, a bit emotional and their bantering is at times hilarious. They are both very good at what they do independently, a combined effort is something they have to work on, very hard, and this process is very entertaining.... I received a free copy without obligation from author and am voluntarily reviewing.
Zane had to protect the people of Nestled Hollow at all cost. So what if a few frivolous festivals had to be canceled. At least the people would be safe. Alete couldn’t believe the new “Hot Fire Chief” could be so stubborn and cruel. How could he cancel her festivals, for some stupid equipment. This town needed them to feel like a community, like they all belonged. What the two couldn’t see was they needed to work together to get what they wanted. But no way was that ever going to happen.
This is a case of "it's not you, it's me." I liked Alete and Zane. I'm just not one for conflict. It doesn't match my personality type. So how they can go from arguing to unintentionally kissing is beyond me. I like a good banter, but I don't find arguing romantic. I wanted them to listen to each other, which they eventually did. There were many cute moments. I loved their lock-in at the school. While this book wasn't a favorite, there are other Meg Easton books that resonate with me better. I still love her.
This was a cute book about a new firefighter and city emergency planer moving into town. He is cute and would turn ladies eyes quickly including independent Alete. That is until Zayne shakes things up and acts all knowing. He manages to tick off a whole lot of the town. It doesn’t help that people love Alete and Zayne unknowingly gets on her bad side. This story about finding a middle ground and not just making assumptions. It’s about two people who have been hurt find that they can lean on other people.
This was a fun story to read. Both Zane and Alete have Nestled Hollow’s best interest at heart, they just have a different idea of how to accomplish their diverse viewpoints. MegEaston has done an excellent job of letting you understand both sides and not really see a solution. As they are forced to interact, both Zane and Alete get to understand the other’s goals and methods. A real testament to what a true understanding of another’s heart can accomplish. I loved the book.
Great continuation of the series. The emergency plan is such a great topic and Zane's and Alete's disagreements in how they work on it brings some good points to light. Ammie is fantastic, and is a great element of humor even with her serious health problems. Clean romance, great chemistry, fantastic family relationships and fun interactions with the town and even bringing in couples from previous books in the series, which I now need to reread! Definitely recommend.
Zane has come to town to be the new Fire Chief and goes to check in at the Inn. When walking in sees Alete standing on a ladder an accident ready to happen. He remains quiet so he doesn't cause her to fall. He is amazed how beautiful she is. When he has his town meeting he discovers how she is against his plans for the town. Will they learn to work together? A well written story with strong and believable characters. Really enjoyed this book.
I had a harder time getting into this book than the other books in the series. I'm usually a fan of the enemies to lovers trope, but this plot line didn't work as well for me. It took a long time for the enemy-feelings to make any shift, and it felt like the bulk of the relationship development and trial took place in the final 30% of the book, but not in a slow-burn kind of way. I'm always a fan of Meg Easton, but this one wasn't my favorite.
Alete and Zane became aware of their attraction the day they met, but it didn't take long for them to realize that they both wanted different things for the town of Nestled Hollow. Zane's main concern was to protect the safety of the town, but Alete believed the town celebrations were a better use of the town funds since they unified the people of the community. These two people struggle to find a way to satisfy both of their desires for the town, and their desire for each other.
Zane and Alete (love this name) were so enjoyable to read as they made their ways down the path of love. Listening to them discover their feelings, why they had them and how they would work them out was written so amazing. This is a must read love story. There is depth. One of the best stories I have read in a while.
I really liked this book and how the enemies factor came into play. I liked watching how the characters developed and the strong sense of community that was in this book and how the community of a small town pulls together.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This was a sweet, clean, small town romance with a HEA. Alete and Zane both want what’s best for their town, Nestled Hollow, but disagree on how to accomplish their individual goals. They disagree on a lot of things. Yet each is strong enough to admit that just maybe if they each compromise a little and help each other more, they can achieve great things together.
There’s a lot of conflict in this book. Zane is very harsh & believes himself to be right. He’s not used to considering other people. Sparks fly when he meets Alete. He clashes with her & they argue throughout But there’s an excellent ending to their story I received a Boxset Audio Copy from the author, & I am writing a voluntary honest review
I'm really, really not a fan of the enemies to lovers trope. The ending has some redeeming qualities but before I opened it up I knew exactly what was going to happen. Yeah, it's the type of cheesy book that is predictable and it's my own fault, but since this was the last book in the series I had to read it. It was just a shame that it's the worst.
