I've followed this series avidly, and I'm delighted with Maya Skye's development as a character and with the timely themes of these books (a crucial plot element in Crow Calling is the environmental threat to monarch butterflies.) Maya is a thoughtful, reflective heroine who's capable of drastic action when necessary, and her wisecracking romance with her journalist boyfriend is a nice touch. A good read that touches on an important issue as well.
