Has FAIRY TAIL been taken down by the White Mage?! An urgent message arrives from Juvia to Natsu and the rest of the gang, who already have their hands full with a town that turns out to be the work of the Wood Dragon God Alderan. Now pulled between the capture of their fellow FAIRY TAIL compatriots and their encounter with one of the five great dragon gods, they must wrestle with two difficult Do they turn back on their hard-fought journey? And what is the White Mage really after...?
A volume focused heavily on fanservice done right. It's full of fun interactions both romantic and familial, but these are done at the cost of an interesting plot. Most of these chapters place heavy emphasis on fights which have zero stakes in the long run. Never do you feel like any of the guild are actually in danger; a very familiar feeling for long time fans. However, it still manages to maintain the typical Fairy Tail fun.
Wow did this take a turn! The 100 year quest series of Fairy Tail follows the main events of the primary Fairy Tail series, when the main gang of Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, and Wendy take on a 100 year quest. The events that unfolded int the 4th instalment of this series were seriously… wow. Crazy. No words at this current stage. Will be moving on to the 5th book so I can follow these events as quickly as possible, I don’t think I can’t wait overly long. Overall, with how I am left feeling at the end of this one, 5 stars given.
Suspense!
Lots of reveals and potential spoilers in this volume so I may offer hints but will try not to offer too many details so you can read this volume and discover them yourself. :)
While Juvia's recovers after her surprise visit some of the main group heads out to figure out why a town can be found upon a massive dragon such as Aldoron (much less 5) and if they will indeed be able to eventually slay it or if it is right to even do so. However a small elderly person arrives as they discuss the situation and offers the team a chance to learn about the city and the dragon but the figure is more then they appear to be as Natsu, Erza, and Lucy are lead to a fateful meeting where the White Mage awaits with her minions to welcome the few original Fairy Tail members to a fate of servitude. Thankfully it is not fame over yet as Wendy and Gray arrive in time to save their friends but when your enemy are people you know and care for how do you win in the end? Of course if it isn't bad enough the White Mage is here the Dragon Eaters are around too so this game of cat, mouse, and dragons is going to shift into high gear from here on out.
By the way there is a major reveal in the relationship for Gajeel and Levy and I couldn't be more happy (considering they are fictional characters and not real people) having read through the original series and seeing how they have grown close to one another. You even get a little mini comic action at the end of the volume for those people too dense to realize why Natsu did not follow through in his fight with Gajeel. :)
I’m completely in love with this arc. Call me a sadist if you want, but I do love seeing Fairy Tail fight each other. It’s always so angsty, yet we can see our heroes fight at their full potential, and it’s very satisfying. Especially when feelings mix with the effect of the hypnosis, which is the case for Jellal (because, of course his love for Ezra will mess everything up). The fights are so fun to follow along and I can't wait to see what will happen next. I feel like the character development is progressing much faster than in the original story and it’s making it 10 times better.
I love fairy tail I have not on,u read the original mangas but I have also seen the anime…. I love that that manga was continued with the 100 year quest…. I didn’t think I would like it as much as the original set but I was wrong I can’t get enough of it… I hope that they decided to make it into an anime too…. I have ready downloaded all the vol that are out… I can’t wait to read the rest and see what the kids fairy tail do to over come this quest…
I’m not sure what to make of this. It seems very fan servicy and like a guns out action adventure that doesn’t care for any semblance of a plot. In my experience this is the kind of drivel most often found in American comics, I’m surprised that such a popular hit can be allowed to reach this low. Then again, I skimmed and am reading sequels way out on the periphery of where I should be. Maybe I’ll revisit to see if I’m sorely out of place.
This was a quick read. There’s a lot of action going on. It was interesting to see the various matchups. Jellal honestly had me cracking up. It’s a good thing Ezra loves him back, dude might legit be obsessed. I don’t necessarily love the Levy & Gajeel ship, but their storyline is very cute right now. I hope nothing bad happens. I’m actually kind of worried about that, given everything going on right now.
Another great read by Hiro Mashima! The Wood Dragon God Arc was the saga I was looking forward to the most where a second Battle of Fairy Tail is now taking place.
I love the fight between Natsu and Whiteout Gajeel, and where Lucy combines both her Leo and Virgo spirits into a combined star dress form in the hopes of defeating all three of the whited out Strauss siblings.
They are learning more and more about this place they have to go to. Once there are there grey wakes up and notices they are underwater but can breathe and talk. Talking about the water god dragon the under water animals goes crazy so they retreat. Back at the guild,2 members (Juvia and gajeel) are keeping their eyes on the new member.

This was a lot of fun, you have the white mage in mind controlling all of Fairy Tail, so Natsu and co have to fight all of their friends. You have the moral dilemma of sealing a dragon, that people have built towns on and are living off.
On top of that you've still got great art and somehow this is getting better than Eden Zero.
🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 - so many silly things happened in this volume but 5 stars for seeing the whole cast!! it’s the battle of fairytail v2 and the stakes are even higher with most of the guild being mind controlled!!!
i loved every second!! arg!! i’m so eager to catch up the current volumes and anticipating the anime 7/7/24!!
Jellal, WTF, man? (Though I got a good chuckle out of his scenes...)
I'm always pleased when Lucy gets a new power; I feel like everyone, her teammates included, always underestimate her. Now I need my library system's little sharing problem to resolve so I can request the next volumes without driving four hours north to the closest library that has them.
Wow, everyone is getting stronger! I don't like seeing friend against friend though.....and I'm glad Natsu stopped in time! Playful side of Jellal 🤣🤣 No, what a cliffhanger!!
