Hero is a hot tattooed bar owner that doesn't feel like he's good enough for his friend the gorgeous curvy model heroine who has been in love with him since the first time she saw him. When her career takes off he pushes her away but Callie ends up pregnant. Gabe regrets his decision to leave her but he still wants her to have her dreams of modelling come true. He doesn't realize that all Callie really wants is him and their baby!
I loved this book. I love a big, tattooed alpha bad boy! No virgins here, no cheating, celibate hero, adorable HEA with their kids! ❤

I love Callie and she didnt deserve all the crap Gabe did to her... he was all in until he took her to her modling shoot and well he felt he was holding her back.. so what does he do act cold and says he has a date with a model a skinny cuz she hot.. he never did have a date... he was just breaking Callie heart and his own.. so when she's sick now he wants to known everything be there for her... no you don't get to.. and when he finds out shes prego and he's back in her life.. so if she wasn't he probably would have left her alone..

He’s a Bit Misguided
Like usual, Hope writes some sweet novellas that keep me wishing they were more full length. I would probably rate them higher if they were longer.

(1.5⭐️’s)
The beginning was great. Loved Gabe and Callie. But once they went to her modeling shoot everything changed. And after that point, I stoped liking them especially Gabe.
I hated that Gabe took it upon himself to break Callies heart the way he did. He kept telling himself that he didn’t fit in with the whole modeling thing. Knew he wasn’t good enough for her and would just hold her back so instead of talking to her (which, as I think about it wouldn’t have made that much of a difference since he was set in his ways) he pretended he had a date with another woman. He ends up tells Callie that they were never exclusive and she knows he’s not the settling down type so of course this hurts her and she ends up walking away.
But what I really don’t like is how a few weeks/months later he just steam-rolls back into her life like he has that choice. And Callie ... she ends up turning into a huge doormat and lets him. Everytime she “nicely” asks him to leave or brings up what happened (which wasnt that often) between them, he just ignores/avoids her questions and does whatever he wants. And its never mentioned again.
Another thing that got to me was how he wouldn’t open up his ears and listen to the h. Throughout this whole book he kept bringing up how modeling was her dreams so he can’t be with her. He was so stuck in his own head that he wouldn’t listen to her when she told him, numerous times, that she was fine not being a model and that her dream would be to stay home with the baby. But nope, to him she had to be a model and he was the one standing in her way. I mean, she’s literally standing in front of him naked giving herself and the baby to him and yet he’s still questioning if shes sure. Even in the epilogue he was questioning if she wanted to go back into modeling because he would be ok with it if she did. It was seriously annoying.
But heres the kicker. The #1 thing that really got to me. The main reason this book got such a low rating from me...
Gabe NEVER apologizes for what he did. He NEVER tells Callie he’s sorry. Not once. The word “sorry” was only used twice in this book (I checked) and they both had to do with the side character Lacey. There is absolutely NO GROVELING what so ever. And if anything, Callie is the one who keeps putting her self out there for him. The one making the first move. It’s pathetic and just not right.
So yah. . . I’m now done with this book.
It had potential but lost me in the end.

Bearded Bar Owner + Curvy Model = Forever!
I love when a story's leading man is vulnerable and has insecurities, to me this doesn't make him weak it makes him real. That's exactly what I saw in Gabe. He cares for and loves Callie so much that he let doubt get the better of him.
This book had plenty of my favorites: a tattooed, bearded blue collar bar owner, a curvy woman who loves how she looks (Callie even models!), a friends to lovers vibe and a surprise baby!
It doesn't hurt at all that Hope used my favorite female book cover model, that's a guaranteed buy for me!

First things first; I really like the cover of this book.
This story is short, fast paced and an enjoyable read. I read this book in one sitting and was satisfied throughout. I found the writing style easy to follow, the characters likeable and the storyline enjoyable.
Callie has been in love with her best friend/boss for a year. When she gets her dream job as a model, she doesn’t want to lose Gabe. Gabe has loved Callie since he met her. When Callie gets her new job, Gabe decides to make his move. Only to make a stupid mistake. Will Gabe and Callie get their happily ever after?
The chemistry between Gabe and Callie is clear to see and I liked them as a couple. I understood why Gabe did what he did but I wanted to shout at him for doing it. I liked that almost instantly, he knew he had done the wrong thing.
I really liked the ending and the epilogue for this story.

But Callie isn't interested in that distinction - she just wants someone to love her and to love in return. Sometimes it's difficult to believe others, though, when they tell us we're good enough.

Oh my goodness another home run from Hope Ford! I loved this one. This short and steamy friends to lovers/instalove is 100% safe. A hot tattooed, bearded blue collar bar owner that doesn't feel like he's good enough for the the gorgeous, confident, strong, curvy model heroine who has been in love with him since the first time she saw him. There love story takes a few twists and turns before they get to their Happily Ever After but they get there! Epilogue a few years out. Oh and there are BABIES!!!

Short and straight to the point. Callie is in love with her boss Gabe. Gabe thinks he doesn’t deserve her and is prepared to let her go until she gets pregnant. Gabe and Callie were friends first and I love a good friends to lovers romance and this on was short and I was able to read it in one sitting.

Pure romance with a touch of 🔥
This one right here covered all bases on the romance, angst and heat aspects of Callie and Gabe's relationship. I loved Callie standing on her own when Gabe let her go for no good reason. LoL She held out for him and Gabe had no chance of retreating when faced with the truth of loving her.

When you get two people who is fighting attraction. Gabe and Callie both love each other. But just won't tell each other. Gabe has to over come his past . The sex between them is hot 🔥🔥🔥. A beautiful love story
I was so happy to see Gabe and Callie finally make a connection. They had been watching each other for a long time. Gabe was the bars boy in his younger days and thought he wasn't good enough for her. Hope's stories are so good, I love her series of stories. You'll have to read the book to see what goes on with Gabe and Callie, you'll enjoy it too. :)

Taking What's Mine from Hope Ford is a steamy and sweet short story about Callie a young woman who has dreamed of a modeling career and Gabe a tattooed bar owner who loves her but pushes her away time and time again.
