Jenn Poff had a hit movie, but since her television series was canceled, auditions have been few and far between. The lack of auditions hadn’t been a problem because it had allowed her to spend time with the love of her life, Wes. There were only two things that Wes Blenkenship lived for, singing and Jenn. While his good looks and velvet voice had ladies begging to be with him, Jenn was the only one who understood him and loved him for who he was and not illusion his fans had created. However, one night, something happened which would alter their lives forever. Jenn now finds herself asking, is she willing to give up five years to give Wes his dream?
D.M. Needom has been creating stories since she was a kid. She started committing them to paper when she was in high school. Starting off as a bassist and television model during her first foray into college, she soon discovered her preferred form of education was working in the music and film industries.
Living a fortuitous life, D.M Needom appreciates the amazing opportunities she’s had in her life. Her first stint as a radio personality came after she won a contest for knowing the song of the day. She was a mere blur in My Best Friend’s Wedding as Julia Roberts ran past while she was an extra. However, the excitement of being on the set made her long to work on other projects. Her longing eventually led her to sign on to a low-budget sitcom, where she was an actress and had many other positions, including line producer. She’s stated numerous times that it was one of her favorite jobs.
Originally from New Orleans, she now calls the North West Burbs of Chicago her home with her two fur babies; Chloe, kitty, and Cami, pup. While she got to experience motherhood being a stepmother, true love was elusive until she met her second husband, with whom she spent sixteen wonderful years together.
Currently, she is the host of the Better To …Podcast with D. M. Needom. She is also working on Gotta Get High To Fall So Low. Besides writing, she enjoys intuitively reading Tarot and Oracle cards for others. While she enjoys a variety of television, movies, video games, and books she has recently realized there isn’t enough time in the day to do it all.
This was a great book, the writing and flow made it a very quick read. It is somewhat of a fairytale romance, and not just between the two main characters. If you want to read something that ends with a great HEA, this book was worth waiting for! ( See how I did that? ). 😉
This was a great easy read. It's set in the 90's and the time frame is easy to follow. Jen was a child actress with an alcoholic mother and somewhat sneaky brother. Her brother worked for Mason an A-lister Hollywood star and more or less started her on a disastrous path that made her life miserable. Wes was the love of her life since she was sixteen she never wanted to hurt him. But her own family sold her out to Mason. She thought she had the perfect plan to get out of his grip, but he threatened Wes' career and also hers. So she had to go along with the farce We get to watch as the years go by and how they affect each of the characters. D.M. Needom does not disappoint us in how true love prevails in the end. Thus Love was worth waiting for. The book was so smoothly written, I almost read it in one day, I didn't want to put it down. I absolutely loved all the twists and turns it took to get to the HEA.
This is a Hollywood story in many ways and takes place in the 1990s. The ‘90s timeline in the story made it interesting since there wasn’t as many easy access things as we have today. There are big cell phones and VHS tapes in this story. So, Jenn is a child star and she’s 18 at the start of the story. Her teen/child parts seem to be many. She has an alcoholic, uncaring mother, a sketchy, ambitious brother and a DOA career that Jenn hasn’t really pursued recently. She’s dating and head over heels in love with Wes, a musician. Circumstances arise in Jenn’s orbit and while Wes and Jenn declare their undying love for each other it’s because of circumstance they are unable to be together for a window of time. They have a hard fought HEA.
This is my first book by D.M. Needom, and I loved it!
Jenn and Wes are madly in love. When Jenn's mom lands in jail, Mason, a famous and influential actor, steps in and makes her an offer she can't refuse. When Mason threatens Wes's singing career, Mason's ultimatum is, marry me, or I will destroy not only you but also Wes, and neither of you will work in this town again.
Unexpected twists heighten the increasing suspense within the storyline. A story that keeps the reader gripped and on the edge of their seat.
Truly 4.5 stars... this was a sweet romance and the power of love! Nothing is for free and this book proves it! I don’t think I would be as sweet to the side characters as she was, especially with the betrayal! So being you knew how end and that small fact I couldn’t give completely 5. However the heroine was only 18.....But I was in the edge of by seat and gripped the entire time and hated the villain which means great job by the author! I like Ellie and Kerri but couldn’t stand Ollie either.... means again, great character development. So I would definitely recommend this book as great twists and excitement
This was more like I would have expected as a rock love story! I enjoyed it so much that I read it in one day. The characters vary....likeable to very unlikeable but through it all you knew who to root for.
Totally loved it!! Jenn and Wes have such obstacles in the way when it comes to their relationship and their careers.... Jenn being the daughter of a former actress who is an alcoholic and a selfish woman... Jenn trying to make it as an actress.... Wes an aspiring musician who just wants to be with Jenn and make it big... It is certainly a page turner....
love is worth waiting for D.M. Needom First I just love the cover. I was completely captured by the story I loved the flow how the characters interacted with each other the writing was amazing. It's a fast paced romance. Defenitely recommend this book.
My Review: Recently I read the novel "Love is worth waiting for" penned down by the author DM Needom. Title of the story is captivating enough to attract readers to pick this one.
Jennifer Poff is an actress but her career is on a break. Her boyfriend Wes Blenkenship is in a singing career. They both are ambitious and want to reach to new heights in their career but they love each other a lot and want to marry each other, have kids and grow old together. The twist in their life came when a celebrity Mason Langford started making things right in Jenn's life by paying for her mother's bail and sending her to rehab, by doing more for her brother Ollie, setting an agent for Jenn who could get her auditions. All this made Wes suspicious of Mason. He bet that Mason has some personal motive to do all this and soon Jenn may have to pay the price for it. Mason has offered a proposal to Jenn in which she needs to be with him for at least five years. Will Jenn take his offer as it could give Wes his dream?
I liked the way story has ended. Please be advised that this novel is recommended for adult readers as it contains some mature content. Cover image of the book is eye catchy. Language is lucid. Writing style of the author is mature and pace of the story is well managed. It's a good read that one should add to their TBR.
'Love is Worth Waiting For' is the second book that I have read by the author DM Needom. Story features Jenn Poff and Wes Blenkenship. Jenn had a hit movie and she starred in show Paradise High for two years before they cancelled it. Her brother Ollie works for a world-renowned actor Mason Langford. When Ollie introduced Jenn to Mason, Mason started doing favors to Jenn and he helped in getting her a show also.
But whatever Mason is doing is not just to help Jenn. He has some motive behind it. Will Jenn agree to do whatever Mason is asking her to do? What will happen to Jenn's relationship with her boyfriend Wes. Grab a copy of this interesting story and find out yourself what will happen next.
Story is told from multiple POVs. Language of the book is simple and easy to follow. Title of the story is perfect. Reading this story was such a smooth journey. I enjoyed it very much. Needom's writing style is amazing and I am definitely interested in reading more of her novels in future.
This was a great book, the writing and flow made it a very quick read. It is somewhat of a fairytale romance, and not just between the two main characters. If you want to read something that ends with a great HEA, this book was worth waiting for! ( See how I did that? ).
My plan to read for 30 minutes started off promising. The next thing I know, It's dinner time and I've finished this book. I couldn't put it down. First of all, it's set in the '90s, which is awesome. I happened to have had a top 100 '90s countdown on an MTV channel, so win for me! Jenn is a fiery character who makes the ultimate sacrifice so her beloved can succeed. She's an actor in between projects with a useless agent. Her brother, Ollie, aspires to be an agent and seemingly, does what he has to, to accomplish this goal. Jenn and Ollie also have the responsibility of an alcoholic mother to deal with. Wes is a rock singer hoping to break into the big leagues. He's in love with Jenn and is hoping they will spend their lives together. They are a cute, and supportive couple who respect and trust each other. Enter Mason. A Hollywood bigshot with the ability to make Jenn's dreams of stardom a reality. But there's a catch. As there always is.
Love is Worth Waiting for follows five years of Wes and Jenn's life. The ups and downs and interferences keep you reading because you get invested in this couple. You want Jenn to tell Wes everything at the beginning, but you want them to both succeed. You want Wes to fight harder, but understand why he doesn't. As the five-year mark draws closer, you get more involved until everything comes to a head in a shocking event. I definitely recommend this to anyone. It's kind of like a fake romance trope and a second chance trope had a baby that grew up to be a rockstar.
𝑻𝒊𝒕𝒍𝒆: Love is worth waiting for 𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓: D.M. Needom
𝑴𝒚 𝑹𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒆𝒘: "You’re my always and forever. There’s never going to be anyone to take your place.”
Jennifer Poff had much troubles in her life. Her career is not going great. Her mother's drinking problem also causes many issues in her life. Her brother Ollie works for Mason Langford, a celebrity. One day when Ollie's car wasn't there, he asked Jenn to go with him to Mason's mansion. Jenn could wait there while Ollie works. But as soon as Mason's eyes fell on Jenn, he started getting into Jenn's life more and more. He kept on doing favours one after the another so he could get what he wants from Jenn. Even though Jenn's boyfriend Wes warned her that it might be a trap but to boost her career Jenn had to take Mason's favours. Jenn and Wes relationship is strong. They both love each other and has made out with each other also many times. What will happen when Mason ask Jenn to be his wife? Will Jenn accept his deal? Story is so intriguing that I couldn't put this book down without finishing it. Narration of the story is remarkable and characters are well written. They feel so real. Cover photo of the book is lovely. This is a kinda novel that I like to strongly recommend to other readers. Story is promising and I am sure that it won't disappoint you.
This was a very emotional ride. DM Needom writes so well, I felt as if I was experiencing what Jenn did. An amazing read for those who love stories about celebrities and rockstars.
D. M. Needom Rocks this Romantic Thriller. I was quickly drawn into the drama of this story. The twists and turns the main character Jen has to endure would make many women give up and a few times I wondered if she would. I mean really, how much can a woman go through for the people she loves? I guess you will have to read and find out! I highly recommend this book!
Jenn Poff is a down on her luck actress whose career is sputtering. Wes Blankenship is the love of her life and lives to sing and write music. Mason is a Hollywood hot shot who offers to help Jenn jumpstart her career. Mason's number one priority is himself and how the public sees him. Jenn doesn't realize his offer to help her comes with some really big strings attached.
Once Jenn realizes it, it's too late and he gives her an ultimatum. Can she live without Wes for 5 years? I was really dismayed when she went along with his plan. My heart broke for Wes.
Our eyes were searching the others before he pulled me toward him. My hands were in his as our lips were inches away. His cheek brushed mine as he leaned in and whispered. "Five years isn't that long." I felt the warmth of his breath on my cheek as he pulled back. His eyes met mine as he continued in hushed tones. "I love you, and you're my best friend. I'll always be here for you, no matter what."
Mason is an expert at blackmail. Jenn's mother is awful and clearly doesn't care what her daughter really wants! If Hollywood is really like this, I'd hate to work in that industry! This is a rollercoaster of a great emotional story!
Mason smiled at me. "I'm going to enjoy watching you fall apart."
