I Sleep Naked: Larry Stylinson

Rate this book
"you're so small." as if to prove his point, louis squeezed harry tightly in his arms, and harry just scrunched up a little bit, snuggling his head impossibly farther into louis' chest. "my pretty paper doll."and when louis squeezed him again, placing a shaky, yet warm kiss on harry's cold forehead, harry felt his heart feel that way again, he felt love. a soft flutter, that even the most self control in the world couldn't stop. he loved louis. he loved him even though he didn't want to, he really didn't.okay, maybe a little.

it’s a horrible and dangerous book. It is not well written with a lot of grammatical errors, but it’s also a horrible representation of mental illness. They make Louis look like this horrible person for struggling with SH and his disorder and they make Harry into this ‘sweet’ person but one that’s really judgy. Calling louis SH ‘ugly red scars’ and telling him to just stop it cause it hurts him that Louis cuts.

It’s dangerous for the young impressionable readers that think that this is a realistic portrayal of mental illness and how it works. They make Louis sound insane and make him into an asshole and blames it all on his mental disorder.

Don’t read it. it’s a waste of time. it’s horrible and should be taken off the internet

Now don’t get me wrong, if you’re a Larry fan, this is a good story. The plot line is good, there’s almost always something going on so you’re constantly drawn in. My problem with this book was just the grammar, it slowed me down and I was constantly correcting the errors in my head. I feel like the ending was kind of strung out, and maybe the epilogue and bonus chapter were unneeded but overall I enjoyed reading this book.

100% would recommend you like Larry Stylinson and you support them. I love how the book is all over the place, with Louis getting into a fight with Harry then comes back to Harry. I was in tears when Harry got into a car accident. I just love the book and I don't care that it took me so long to read it because I need a break. That's why i love books that do that.

first of all: I really loved reading this book. like fr I wasnt able to stop at all. but its not perfect in my opinion. there a few things i disliked mostly appearing in the last 30 chapters. to be more specific:

what I liked about "I Sleep Naked":

- the writing. it is a very well written book. the auther did a very good job in writing about harrys and louis' problems and feelings. it was very exciting and engaging! Like I said, I wasnt able to stop reading at all.
- the character developments. both main characters have a realistic, beautiful, detailled and lovable development. which brings me to my next point:
- the relationship between louis and harry. their love felt so real and touching. writing about a realtionship between two characters who are that ill can easily change into smth very toxic (like in AFTER ... ugh ) . But this was smth else. I felt harrys heartbreak, I felt louis'. I f e l t their love. Nothing was ever weird. And when it became a bit ... cheesy id say it was still quite beautiful.
- the topic of friendship and love in general.
- how the author handled the topic of being mentally ill. Girl, u did a great job.

what i disliked about "I Sleep Naked":
- the kind of overloaded, sometimes obviously not thought through storyline. there was quite a bit stuff which I read and just thought "ugh okay what... thats a bit to much...". And thats bc some problems (like Harrys eating disorder or childhood trauma) just disappeared sometimes. and sometimes they were back again suddenly. and thats not how traumatas work. write about it and take it seriously. and if you dont want to do that, u should't write about it.
- after like ... chapter 50 or smth like that you could tell that the author wasnt able to decide what she wants to write. a story about harrys childhood trauma? about lous and harrys relationship? about harrys eating disorder? From then on, everything in between seemed very narrated, as if one thing had been blown up and another was suddenly dropped ... if that makes sense, sorry, english isnt my first language.

buuuut i still love this book and Im absolutely sure that Ill read it again someday.

This fanfiction is whatever I expected it to be and more! It's obviously very well-known throughout the Larry Stylinson fandom - to call it that - but I hadn't expected it to be as good as it proved itself to be. Obviously, the plot is more than a bit chaotic and the writing style is not the best but overall - REALLY GOOD. I really enjoyed it x

The story itself was 4 stars, but there were A LOT of grammatical errors and typos that made it confusing at times to read, bring down the score since it made it less enjoyable and slowed down my reading as well.

the amount of times this book has triggered me and many others...
its extremly toxic and painful to read, a bad kind of pain. there is basically no plot and at the same time so many tiny ones. The story just keeps getting more complicated but is about nothing

This was my first Larry Stylinson fanfic, so I suppose my opinion is strongly affected by the fact that I didn't have any experience or had read some absolute masterpieces that are out there. Still, I believe that it is pretty solid.
So.
I really liked the way the author portraited people with mental illnesses. It was obvious that she had done a great and impressive amount of research in order to make the least possible mistakes presenting their diseases. It was a touching and informative fic, as well as illustrated that people with mental disorders can live, love, hate, laugh and cry just like the rest of us.
I liked the plot, how it started off in high school, and followed the characters through their journey later on. I enjoyed the heart-warming moments between Louis and Harry, was satisfied by the way their relationship evolved, and was incredibly moved by the support and love they showed each other, even during the toughest of times.

Now, there were also some parts that I found rather disappointing.
For starters, after some point in the story, I felt things were getting a bit repetitive, and there was lack of progress between the two for no reason, in my opinion, at all. I also felt like it was stretched out, and too long, some bits unnecessary and "too much".
The style of writing the author chose was, additionally, quite tiring, and not one I am especially fond of.
Lastly, I would have liked it if she revealed more about Harry's traumatic past, as it would add a lot to his character, and why he is the way he is.

Overall, "I sleep naked" was a descent, fun, and carefully written fanfiction. I would recommend it to people who have recently started reading this type of literature (yes, I consider fanfiction literature).
Have a great life :)

check the tw

i would give this 4.5 stars.

i definitely liked everything about this book. there was always something to keep you interested and always something to keep you coming back to this book. the bpd and aspergers was definitely a big reason for that. harry having aspergers and not being able to understand louis’ bpd. both of these disorders caused a lot of problems but they were always fixed in the end.

i think the one thing that can be improved is grammar? there were zero capital letters until the marriage scene and obviously the common mistakes of your, you’re and there, their and so on. i found myself constantly correcting it but other than that, the actual content of the story is good.

if you were to read this book it definitely makes more sense to be a directioner/larrie. the author included a lot of meaningful names to the fandom and meaningful parts as well. even if you werent a directioner/larrie this book still works out, just every name wouldn’t have a meaning to you. there are also some references that only the fandom would understand but other than that, this is just a love story.

this book made me cry a lot, made me laugh a lot, and maybe that’s because the names have meaning to me but regardless, this is a good story.

I loved this book. It was actually my first Larry Stylinson fanfic so when I first started reading it I didn’t know what I was getting myself into. One of the things I loved about this book is the way that the mental health issues the characters had were treated with respect. Also, I loved how the relationship between the characters had a balance between emotional and physical. Another thing I liked was that the book wasn’t so reliant on the One Direction parts that if you changed the names and a few plot points to not involve One Direction it wouldn’t ruin the book. Even though it wasn’t perfect and had some chaotic parts I think the book is great and the fact that the author originally wrote it as a teen astounds me. Overall I would recommend this book even if you aren’t a Directioner or Larry.

i’m so unsure on this book! it was my second fic that i’d ever read so i wasn’t really experienced enough to tell whether or not it was a good fic or not. however at the time i seemed to enjoy it and i liked how the fic showed realistic parts of some people’s everyday lives. don’t get me wrong at times it was quite heavy and full on but overall i quite liked the plot! the only thing is that i haven’t tried to read it again and i don’t think i will. it’s not exactly the most exciting book in the world.

Plot is okay, but the whole story is extremly toxic and the representation of certain themes and struggles is just straight up a nightmare. Some cute, nice chapter were written but overall its just not really a good example for these kind of struggles that wanted to be shown here

livro bem fofo. é estranho ler fan fictions porque pega em pessoas reais e distorce as suas histórias mas a história tem um bom desenvolvimento e é Larry.
