A cute teacher gets a spanking this Christmas. How hot can it get being on his former student’s Naughty List?
Is Aaron allowed to want a hot holiday fling with his young former student? Even more forbidden, is he allowed to want this student to spank him?
It’s another Christmas, and Aaron is still in the closet as a gay man and a natural submissive. With one youthful indiscretion blacking his ethics record, he can’t afford to indulge his desires no matter how pent up and needy that leaves him.
Until his former student comes home for the holidays.
Dominant and charming, RJ knows what Aaron needs—intense, steamy encounters and a firm hand. As Christmas nears, RJ helps Aaron unlock his true self. But family and fallout await, and all good things must end.
Or can their hot holiday affair turn them into lasting lovers?
Mr. Naughty List is a steamy, Christmas MM romance set in the Home for the Holidays series that began with Mr. Frosty Pants, but can be read as a standalone. Featuring light D/s, spanking, an older sub with a younger Dom, former student/teacher dynamics, and, of course, warm, sweet holiday feels complete with a strong happy ending.
Author of the bestselling book Smoky Mountain Dreams and fan favorites Training Season, Will & Patrick Wake Up Married, and Slow Heat, Leta Blake has been captivating M/M Romance readers for over a decade. Whether writing contemporary romance or fantasy, she puts her psychology background to use creating complex characters and love stories that feel real. At home in the Southern U.S., Leta works hard at achieving balance between her writing and her family life.

I adored Mr. Naughty List, and even though it wasn't *quite* my brand of kink, I still liked the kinky aspects, and I thought Leta did an awesome job.
If you like the idea of a former teacher/student relationship, you'll dig this one. Plus, older sub, younger dom, baby! I was into it, and I couldn't get enough.
I sped through this one, and I enjoyed it much more than Mr. Frosty Pants. I liked the dirty talk, and I liked the sweet romance. I wish the kink-play was less impact play focused, but that's just me and my tastes. Also, there is a little bit of family drama in this one, but it didn't feel too intrusive.
He’s making a list. Checking it twice. He’s gonna find out who’s naughty or nice…..Yep, it’s that time of year. Personally, it’s one of my favorite times. Of course, it’s always busy but I stuff every free moment with holiday stories and I’m so glad Mr. Naughty List was my first this year. I have opened a story from Blake before and thought, ‘okay, this is going to be a lighthearted quick read’. You know the ones, those stories that are fun or sexy but barely skim the surface. They might be enjoyable enough but faces fade into the background and you move on, most likely forgetting the book by the next week. The last time I did this with one of Leta’s stories it was with a particular cowboy and the book ended up knocking me off my feet. Boy did she ever prove me wrong! I should know by now she doesn’t ever merely scratch the surface. This time I was equally surprised by our teacher and musician. The pages flew by and I fell deeper and deeper into their world. It was definitely H.O.T. but it was so much more than a kink fulfilled with a ruler. Can I tell you a bit more?
What's to like: When Aaron runs into a familiar face at a club he finds himself in quite a predicament. He made a mistake a few years back and is trying his best to keep his nose clean ever since. Sadly, he is forced to give up pieces of himself in doing so. Bottling up his wants and desires has kept everyone else happy but the pressure has become too much. He’s about to explode. His former student is all grown up now and Aaron thinks if RJ helps him with a bit of release he’ll be able to keep up the facade. He’s not out at his school and he intends to keep it that way. In no way is he looking to date or for a relationship, he just needs to let go and give in to his sexual cravings. Then he will be fine. That’s right. A bit of fun and he’ll cram the stopper back in. Go back to the single teacher minding his own business. Now it’s time for Mr. Danvers to be surprised. He never expected RJ to not only fulfill his kinky needs but fill in other gaps in his heart. But that’s exactly what he does. There were a few ‘naughty’ scenes that had me holding my breath, debating if I liked them, but I was relieved when they were handled with care. I tend to tread lightly with dom/sub stories because they haven’t always worked for me in the past; but Blake delivers a beautiful story about…trust. As RJ’s mom so beautifully put, “Love is trust” and I melted as the final pages slipped by.
What's to love: I adored the strength and power of RJ Blitz. He’s home for the holidays, spending time with his family. Yet, he feels out of place and unsettled. He’s not sure he belongs here. His wandering feet have taken him many extravagant places over the last few years and he’s never found a reason to plant roots. Perhaps the reason he feels so transient is due to his fly-by-night mentality. Or maybe he just didn’t feel wanted. He has no desire to fall in love. Love is for fools. Love doesn’t last. Right? Mr. Danvers was his lofty crush during his final year of high school. Having him at his mercy is a dream come true. Too bad he’s only home for the holidays. Speaking of Mr. Danvers…I loved him and his meticulous ways. I loved his cat, best friend, and dad. I loved his passion for teaching and how he cared for his students. He’s a control freak and everything about his life is rigid and disciplined, except in the bedroom. He longs to pass the reigns and embrace the freedom of being at his lover’s mercy. Building a relationship with a man in such a way isn’t much of a possibility when he has to hide this part of himself. But his wretched boss will surely make good on her threat to destroy his career if he doesn’t abide by her rules. And his career is all that he has. Or…is it? I think you should find out!
Beware of: Insecurities. Self-doubt holds significant power. Kink. Naughty can also be very nice. Family dynamics. Lots of drama including neglect, homophobia, and undesired desires. And a beautiful ending that will lift your heart.
This book is for: If you’ve read Mr. Frosty Pants you’ll get to check in on Casey and Joel but you don’t need their backstory here. Anyone looking for a sensual and tender story that does more than smack the surface, add Mr. Naughty List to your wish list.
Naughty and nice, that's what this story is made of.
Naughty because Aaron and RJ are so in sync in bed and do all the dirty things to each other. RJ has been dreaming of his former teacher's ass for years, and now that he has it, he wants to spank it and lick it and make Aaron come over and over again.
Nice because this is at heart a romantic story about trusting that love will stay and that not everyone will let you down.
I loved both MCs and the dynamic between them. RJ used to be Aaron's student once upon a time, but nothing happened between them then. Indeed, Aaron thought RJ was another angry underachiever and didn't pay RJ much mind. But RJ is all grown up now and HOT. (The age gap is inconsequential, as RJ is just a few years younger than Aaron.)
The Dom/sub element was reserved for the bedroom, and it's just the kind of BDMS light play I like: one MC giving up control, some whipping, some spanking, dirty talk, but, yes, sweetness too.
I really liked the secondary characters, especially Aaron's accepting dad and Aaron's best friend who's an amazing listener. I loathed Aaron's mother, but that was the point. She cared more about appearances than her own child. I was thrilled when Aaron finally stood up to her.
I kind of wish Carter, RJ's step-brother, had been made more aware of the consequences of his actions. Everyone was way too forgiving with that kid, IMO.
The angst is minimal; the sex is on fire; the cat is a primadonna; and the tree is all trimmed. Oh, and the ending? It's a glorious HEA indeed.
Leta Blake is a master at writing kink. Especially the kind of kink that comes along with giving up trust and losing control.
Here it's Aaron, an uptight teacher who is wound so tight he's almost at breaking point, and RJ, a former student only four years younger than him who has the key to his surrender.
The Dom/sub element here is mostly confined to smacking and impact play, but it absolutely works to demonstrate the trust that Aaron gives RJ when he finally admits that he needs someone to remove all his responsibilities and just make him feel.
I loved this Christmas-based romance, it's set in the same universe as Leta's Mr Frosty Pants, but you don't need to read that one first, although Casey and Joel do make a couple of small appearances and they're still happy.
There's a bit of family-related drama to raise tensions and I'll just say Aaron's mother is the kind of person who really shouldn't have ever become one.
But I loved his dad and their crazy extended family, as well as RJ's mum and step-dad and adorable half-siblings. The drama with his step-brother also worked well I think and helped to show the difference having family support can have.
Spicey hot and surprisingly tender, it's a lovely festive read.
#ARC kindly received from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review.
Five years prior Mr. Aaron Danvers was RJ’s high school English teacher whom he had several naughty fantasies. Now RJ is all grown and a real life rockstar and when Aaron spots him the attraction is mutual.
These boys don’t waste any time before not only jumping into bed but fulfilling some Christmassy BDSM fantasies. Lots of spankings, toys and more in depth impact play as the story progresses. Holy smokes was this a hot one.
The problem is RJ’s only in town for the season and Aaron is closeted at his job, mostly because of his god awful mother who is also the school principal.
In the end it comes down to making hard choices and whether they can turn their Christmas fling into a real lasting relationship.
--I honestly didn't like either MC. --The story never held my attention. --The dialogue was cheesy and eye roll inducing. --The sex was a bit cringe worthy.
And this coming from a pretty big Leta Blake fan. If I recall I didn't love book 1 in this series either so....
It's me again. The person who can't finish books for random, often obscure reasons. 🤷🏻♀️😂
This week I bring to you... 🐱 💩
Realistic? I'm sure this has happened plenty of times. But it isn't anything I want to read about.
I did continue for a bit after that and couldn't get into it. So really, the incident wasn't the only thing that made me DNF. But it didn't help. The only other book I've tried by this author was another Christmas one which I also DNF. I would be interested in trying one of her other books in the future to see if perhaps it's just her holiday books that I don't connect with.
Ohhhhh, so steamy and sweet. There's the hint of being forbidden since RJ was Aaron's student about five years before they meet again, and I dig the role reversal in that RJ is the dominant partner. Along with delicious spanking and mild D/s, there's meaty family drama and holiday feels. I loved how RJ and Aaron's sexual connection blossomed into romance. It's great to see Casey and Joel from Mr. Frosty Pants again, but this book definitely stands alone. The unique Knoxville setting is vividly brought to life, and I look forward to more books in this series! I edited this book and am biased, but I genuinely did love it. :)
If you want plenty of steam, a bit of kink, family drama, and a wonderful opposites attract Christmas season romance, Mr. Naughty List will definitely do the trick!
The story was both emotional and a lot fun as Aaron and RJ embark on a no strings attached holiday fling (yeah, right). Both are dealing with different family issues and the not-relationship is a great escape as RJ lives out his fantasy of getting it on with his hot (former) teacher and Aaron wars with internalized guilt, most of which comes courtesy of dear old mom, and his need to live as his true self.
You don't have to have read Mr. Frosty Pants to enjoy this one, but Casey and Joel make appearances here. If you're looking for a Christmas read that's not all sugarplums and candy canes I highly recommend it!
The first thing on RJ’s list is seducing Mr. Aaron Danvers. That he can do. His former teacher is even hotter than before and now after all these years, he can finally go for it. Even for just one night. In the club, they meet at, Aaron’s needy eyes are all over him and yeah he’s been invited to walk him home.
One night, one hot steamy night, more can never happen. Aaron burned himself years ago, an affair with colleague Coach. He really didn’t know he was married. No colleague no former students, nothing in that direction, ever. Also, RJ will leave soon, touring, as he is a musician.
Just one night with the man who gave him exactly what he wanted. There was no turning back. Only one night isn’t enough, neither are two or three. Aaron desperately wants to give over the reins, and RJ wants nothing more than to take them from him.
There are complicated circumstances which make any chance for any kind of a future together almost impossible. One doesn’t think he deserves love and one doesn’t believe in love.
The intensity from those two men, the sensuality, the need, it was almost unbearable. When they are together something magical happens, all their senses are on high alert, which gave me goosebumps. Aaron giving in and RJ strong in charge was everything! The BDSM play was awesome, the dirty talk delicious, the greedy need was more than excellent!
There are family members who shouldn’t be family, one woman particularly, at moments the angry steam came out of my nose. There are family members who deserve a medal. They all bring different vibes into this story.
No wham-bam sex scenes, noooo there are long extended beautifully build up steamy scenes. Highly arousing and appetizing to visualize. The sensuality dripped from the pages. The outcome of these scenes was just breathtaking. Read it and experience it!
This was an excellent developed story, it had a strong way of storytelling, emotions everywhere, with a good balance and a well-constructed plot. The characters of Aaron and RJ were outstanding, raw, wild, lovable and overwhelming. This one will be filed on the shelf with exceptional highly intense stories. An absolutely stunning story, a must-read!
Updated review: I liked this a bit better the second time around. RJ grew on me and I saw his personality through a different lens. His need to take care of Aaron matched Aaron's need to be taken care of, and that's always a good bonus!
Original review: Took a while to warm up to this one. I'm not a huge fan of the kind of kink Aaron and RJ are into. But there was really good chemistry here between them, and they grew on me quite a bit before the end.
Lovely gift from Leta in October, but cos it's not with the rest of my audio books, had completely forgotten about it, sorry. It has to be said that John Solo is not my favourite narrator; he sounds a little creepy sometimes, and I hate the way he over-emphasises things but he did a good job here, rather like he did on the Will and Patrick series of stories.
***Book Review***
4.5 stars from me for this sexy and kinky little D/s type Christmas Cracker read from Leta. Santa and his naughty elf indeed 🎅🎄☃️❄🎅.
The kink is fairly mild but hot , the feels are there and we have 2 MC's who both deserved some Christmas magic of their own. Some may say that Mr Danvers shouldn't have messed around with a former student... absolute hogwash is what I say to that!! With only 4 years between them, RJ was practically an adult anyhoo [19 and far from innocent] when Aaron taught and tempted him with his jiggly butt 😀...oh yes, the thoughts were there even then and had RJ salivating, although they were not acted upon; however, when they were?? Kudos to RJ and Aaron for their imagination, stamina and endurance is all I can say 😁😁. And may I just add Principal Shock, you were a complete bitch and I mean that most sincerely. As a mother, you were an absolute shocker 😉. Never there when your gay teacher son needed you, and all you cared about was what others may have thought.
The epilogue made me tear up. Aaron's father Rutty was epic and there for his son...as it should be.
As always, proud to be a member of Leta's Patreon.["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>["br"]>
Mr. Naughty List is a steamy , light BDSM -impact play , D/s dynamics , sweet , humorous and bit angsty Teacher and FORMER Student, MM Romance . Aaron, the teacher is 28 years old and RJ, the musician is 24; clearly, two very close in age and consenting adults .
Even being a somewhat light-hearted Christmas Holiday and hot AF smutty -descriptive book; Mr. Naughty List is a story with depth and deals few sensitive topics as parental neglect and homophobia.
Overall , I enjoyed reading this book ; even when few things bothered me like : 🙀Aaron's mother nastiness and lack of empathy. 😾The emphasis in making the teacher/student relationship as a big taboo , when it isn't the case. 😿When RJ mentions a heartbreaking situation he went through and had to endure, for close to a year, as a 15 years old as result , in my point of view , of parental neglect ; his mother reaction , was nonchalant, sort of -Oh well, shit happens, let's move on.
Anyways, my rating falls between a 4 and 5 stars .
Received a copy of Mr. Naughty List through LesCourt and this is my unbiased opinion.
Leta Blake brings her own brand of kink to this hurt/comfort romance. Blake always does a fantastic job with D/s and writes such romantic power exchanges!
Aaron pretty much broke my heart. Between his mom and the way he changed his life to try and please her, and how he settled for hook-ups instead of even trying to find love. RJ comes into his life at exactly the right time, and the romance between them really works.
The audiobook is performed by John Solo who does a wonderful job. It's been way too long since I've listened to one of my favorite narrators, so if you're looking for a feel good, super kinky, sweet romance, Mr. Naughty Book should be at the top of your holiday to-listen-to list!
an audiobook copy of Mr. Naughty List was provided for the purpose of my honest review
Leta Blake delivered a holiday book that is full of emotion and naughty hijinks. Mr. Naughty List is about a teacher and a former student. For those who feel uncomfortable, don't worry, there is only a 4-year age difference.
There were lots packed in this delicious holiday story.
-A little taboo factor- I didn't think it was, but others might. -Naughty fun. Like descriptive naughty fun. ;) -A lot of emotion, more than I was expecting, to be honest. -D/s -Angst
First, the reason it is four stars not five is simply that IMO the part of the book from 50-75% seems to drag on for me. So much that I put this book aside for almost two weeks before picking it up again. I am glad I did because I was immediately able to dive into it and it came alive for me. Adore these two guys... Their dynamic is not one that I would ever have with a BF, but it worked beautifully for them and it felt so very right for them that I loved it. Honestly, part of the reason I took a break was due to the horrific witch of a mother Aaron's mother was. While my parents have never been even remotely close to how bad his was, there still was rejection there and it hurts reading about it. So happy I got to finish this and RJ and Aaron's happiness!
4.5⭐️ - what started out as a very impromptu hookup (that had me very skeptical about the rest of the book) turned into a deeply emotional story about self acceptance, abandonment issues, parental failures and finding love unexpectedly. I ended up really loving this book.
Aaron and RJ both had past issues they were struggling to deal with and finding a way to move forward but neither thought they’d ever have intimate love in their lives. They weren’t looking for each other but found themselves wanting a future together in spite of being absolutely terrified! The passion and intimacy in this book were phenomenal and wildly intense. There is BDSM play so if that’s not your thing, you can skim that part.
Aaron’s mother was triggering. She was just a horrible person. Aaron was such a kind and wonderful man that her refusal to accept him was heartbreaking. His father was a delight!!
RJ had an absentee father and that left its mark on him. He and his mother truly struggled while he was growing up, even living out of her car. RJ even found himself in a very dangerous situation when he was 15 that could’ve had disastrous long term effects.
This was such a moving and emotional book. Definitely worth a read!!
In the beginning I wasn't sure what to think of this one, having read Mr. Frosty Pants a couple of years ago, this one didn't have the same lovely feeling of Christmas as while still being raw and honest as that one. And I didn't know how I felt about that. But as the book slowly progressed, I did with it and after a while I was right there with the MC's as they slowly got their HEA. This author is a bit of a hit or miss for me, but her Christmas stories never disappoints.
Magnificent story; a Christmas affair and so much more ! Aaron, 28, is a closeted school teacher, forced to do so by his mean mother and she's his boss, too. He's in need and his kink demands attention. He's looking for his hook-up, but he's stood up, twice. He spots an ex-student and says hello.
RJ, 24, guitar player in the band has had a crush on his former teacher. After a long talk, they agree to a one nighter, but there will be so much more.
It took me a bit to really grasp this story, to understand the brutal mother, Aaron's best friend Lauren's attitude, so, I was glad I stuck with it. When I understood, it was absorbing, riveting, and I found it "unputdownable." My reward was this fabulous, sexy, M/M tale.
Years of living on the edge, giving into his mother, Aaron was miserable. The women who was supposed to love him unconditionally, harped at him and embarrassed him mercilessly. He didn't deserve it. I liked Aaron's Dad.
I loved strong RJ and needy Aaron. He was really a sweet man. Their D/s, hot, kinky sex was explosive. RJ was a trained Dom and submissive Aaron needed what he gave him. A perfect fit and they each knew it.
We heard each man's past, and we loved them even more, just as they had strong feelings, passion and eventually love.
It is written well by Leta Blake, and I'll never forget these two guys. WOW ! A joyous epilogue ! ENJOY ! Merry Christmas !
Wooo! That was a steamy story! And emotional--in the best of ways. I have all the feels after reading this story. One of the best holiday stories I've read in a long while. Well done, Leta Blake!
This book had a rather dubious start when the three female characters started off disappointingly judgemental. In the end, only one was a major beyotch but that was because she had the audacity to be a career driven mother. Apparently, she was fine before she caught a case of “ambition” but that pesky need for a job - outside of being a homemaker - was just a one way ticket to bitchville. She should have stayed on the farm and baked cookies, I guess.
As for the rest? It was okay but definitely not this author’s best work. The two mom’s were WAY over invested in the sex lives of their respective sons to the point of being inappropriate and the female bff was unsupportive for most of the story. The premise of this book sounded the great, but it lacked something in the execution. Definitely not this author’s best work.
This might have been just a tad bit out of my comfort zone but I still am really glad I read it and I did end up really, really enjoying it.
It had a lot of depth for a Christmas story and having read this right at Christmas and finishing right after, I appreciated that. I had more focus and think that helped my enjoyment level.
I was never sure how it was going to work out and I did feel a lot of nerves while reading.
I like how it worked out though, some sad, but mostly for the best and very, very happy.
Too much telling and I can't stand the writing. I usually like this author but I don't think I can survive this book if I happen to continue my reading.
