I was really excited to read a dragon shifter romance but this one just didn't do it for me. There was a villain introduced but I didn't get the villains motives, it seemed like it came out of nowhere. I excuse instalove when it comes to mates but this instalove was too much. There needed to be more world building and I think this story would've worked better as a full length and the author had more room to work with.

I really enjoyed this book.I mean who doesn’t like a bad ass dragon shifter book? Anywho, Simone doesn’t date much but a night out for her friend Jasmin’s birthday has her yearning for more with bartender Wade. They both agree to a one night stand yet they both are finding it hard to move on. Wade knew Simone was his mate the moment she stepped in the bar but he tried to deny it. Due to his past he had trust issues and the fear of being betrayed.I loved their chemistry and they way the author described it. It was hot, it was real and I felt it. This book had loads of potential but the author failed to capitalize on it. I really felt this book should have been longer to effectively world-build. It would have been great to have a fleshed out scene about the incident with his family. This incident needed to be on the pages . I know this is a fated mates/ instalove story but everything moved so fast so it didn’t feel genuine to me. It also felt like some details were left out. When did they mate? I know they had sex but did I miss them mating? Another thing, the issue with the two wolves didn’t seem realistic at all. For Keith orchestrate a hit on them just seemed over the top to me. As I stated before i enjoyed reading but the plot was week, scenes needed to be fleshed out and it would benefit from more world building . Definitely will read more from this author

This book really drew me in, in the beginning. I loved the bar scene with Wade. His character was hot and Simone seemed like a shy person who had her head on straight. But as the book turned up the heat so did her wild side and I could no longer picture that girl in the beginning. The book became obsessive and almost annoying with I need you, we can't be more, your my mate, it's one night, I love you and then what made it worse was the desperation once the night was over. Only for him then to come back, her use him and then kick him out. She left her date without a word, she needed assuring of his love every other sentence and his adoring her. Then they are attacked he leaves her to go and kill them only to return for them to fly off to his place only for him to confess is never dying love once more and more sex.
You might be wondering why I gave this three stars with the negatives. Well, I felt the story does have true potential. I think with a little more developmental editing, someone to help point out a few problem areas and then for it to be rewritten in certain places this story could be really good. It had its moments that impressed me. The ability to set a scene, to feel the desire, a connection that I could still feel with the characters. I would be more than willing to give this story another shot if it was reworked a little in the plot.

This was an entertaining read but it was overall just okay. I definitely was able to read, enjoy and finish the story. The chemistry between the characters was very sexy! The spicy scenes were tantalizing but the book was annoying when it came to the character's dialogue and conversation between each other. The fmc asked wayyyy too many questions. So basically 99% of their dialogue is her asking questions and him answering. The story also moved way too fast! They were annoying because the entire book they were falling in love with each other but he was literally refusing to allow the mate bond to happen for a long drawn out time because he had a lot of unhealed trauma, which I get. I'm rolling my eyes just thinking about it.

great sex

This was a good story conceptually but the execution was just shy of awful. I love PNR so I understand fated mates and insta love, but having a character say one thing and then 4 sentence say and do the complete and total opposite, over and over page after page just wasn’t enjoyable. There where moments when the flow in the conversation was good and well written and the sex was definitely hot but everything in between was not. I really had to force myself to finish. This is my second book by the author and this is kind of looking like a theme.

It’s been awhile since I’ve read a book from one of my favorite genres. I forgot how intense the pull of the mate call could be.

This was a quick, sexy read. I think Wade’s backstory was interesting. I almost feel that he is going to discover that his uncle spelled his mother or something to get her to betray her family. I liked the Preston/Sam crossover.

Granted there was quite of bit dialogue that felt like they were talking in circles, but it was an enjoyable story nonetheless.

I’d recommend this book.

Has Potential

For a short story/novella it coveted the necessities.... main characters, location, problem, and solution. I feel like the story could have been developed more. It felt rushed, it was mainly sex with a little problem or inconvenience, a short fight.... if it can be called that and then it is over. I may come back to the second book, but I don't see the appeal in reading as of now

I enjoyed this book. It was steamy, emotional and had a sharp edge of danger. Wade and Simone are and inferno of sparks and sizzle. They deliver some truly excellent feels while encouraging your temperature to rise. The story grabbed my attention and held it firmly. This is my volitional, forthright review.

Wade was Everything!!!

I love fated mates storylines. Add on the fact that Wade is a dragon shifter makes it so cool and different. Wade was everything, cool, confident, easygoing but troubled at the same time. I’m glad he stopped fighting it and let Simone in. I cannot wait to read book 2.

Wade is the Dragon you didn't no you needed. The strong loving type. But he has so much hurt inside of him that he would rather be alone than to love. But his princess came along. There was no denying the feelings they felt. His Dragon was ready for his mate. I loved this read. And the fight not so fight with Preston was good and funny!

Mark Me Please

I really enjoyed this story. How many times have we allowed a past experience to keep us from finding happiness? Wade was my guy until he wasn’t… Jasmine was not about to play about her bestie and we all need a friend like that. The insta-love slash fear was a great play on the pitfalls of love.​

Not the typical romance but none the less still a great read. Wade is a tortured soul but once he got with the right woman, it was what he needed to finally heal. Can't wait to see more from this author

This book was excellent. So glad the Wade opened up to Simone. It brought tears to my eyes on how his childhood was. But I knew Simones love would bring it out of Wade not trusting in love. Will there be a part two

Omg! I loved Wade and I loved that he was a dragon. I haven’t read any dragon shifter stories by Black authors. I can’t wait for more of his and Simone’s story. They were hot, and rightfully so, bc that dragon burned up my kindle pages!!

The story of this was good and there were some very cute moments. However sometimes this felt rushed and then their conflict seemed dragged out. I guess if this would’ve have been such a short book, I would have dnfed this book.
I mean this wasn’t bad but not great either.

This was an ok read. There is a lot of dialogue but with little direction and details. I found myself re-reading parts because it didn’t mention how a character got from point a to point b. I like the chemistry between Wade and Simone.
