Very informative and explained a lot about addiction, the different types, what we know so far about why some people get addicted and others don't, available treatment and recovery as well as the new possibilities being uncovered. It spoke in a way that was scientific but easy to digest and comprehend to the average person and also included real-life stories that helped bring the crisis to life instead of just numbers on a page. I think everyone should read it just to get a better understanding of addiction as it's something a lot of people are misinformed about and something very stigmatised.
Informative, interesting, gripping stories of addiction and all those involved in it: the addicts, their families, doctors, therapists, medical scientists, artists, etc. Excellent windows into the disarray this disease can cause and extremely empathetic towards those seeking a way out. Important stuff.
