My Irresistible Boss is a contemporary romance by Amy Thompson. This is a very quick read, perfect for those with limited reading time. I enjoyed Kaden and Maria's story. My Irresistible Boss is book 1 of the Office Affairs Series but can be read as a standalone. This is a complete book, not a cliff-hanger.

In this book, Kaden is a billionaire businessman and when Maria brings coffee for a meeting, he wants to know who she is. Maria is a new intern and when Kaden asks to see her in his office, she is not ready for him to ask if she wants to be his personal assistant. Kaden wants Maria and he sets out to make her his. I liked this story. it was a quick and steamy read. I liked Maria and i think she really cared for Kaden, I think she was scared because he was so successful and older. Good one.

This was a cute novella/short story about an older man/boss falling in love with his young assistant. The book was well written and the characters likable. An easy read with some steam. It was a cute story but it was short and sweet. I read an arc and voluntarily chose to review.

This was a good really short story. Kaden owns his own company and Maria is an intern there. When he sees her for the first time he’s smitten with her. He asks her to go to the Gala and while there he wants her to be his. Very fast moving relationship.

Totally irresistible if you ask me. Kaden and Maria simply fall into the cliche of boss/worker with all the cheesy bits (including a b***h mother).

Cheesey cheese

Quick read where everything goes smoothly and a bit too cheesy... (Don't get engaged after 2 months of knowing someone...)

Well, I got a copy after signing up to the author's email list. The story is very, very, short. The plot pushes along at high speed, leading to a lack of development for all the characters and subplots that come out of nowhere (such as the jealous mother) and get resolved quickly and without satisfaction.

Not that it matters. The story is very cliche with cheesy lines and situations (while I understand it's a fantasy) that would get Kaden a sexual harassment lawsuit and a MeToo hashtag. The sex is a little erotic, but they fall short and ends abruptly.

The writing style is decent, but there's issues with run off sentences. Also, since the story is told in first person, the lack of contractions leads to unrealistic dialogue. Plus, its not very original and it reminded me of hundreds of other stories (many you can read for free online). There's no originality or a fresh take on a tired old trope.

Sure, stories like these can be guilty pleasures, but I just was not for me.
