When I read the first book in this series, I was hooked. I am finished with book 2 and I am once again impressed with this author. The battles that Samantha and Jake were involved in were so descriptive that the reader could believe they are a part of the story. Being able to travel between the two worlds of Earth and Kiraku was a really good part of the novel. The animals were a good addition to the story. This was a book that was about empathy toward animals and humans, protecting those you love and finding ones purpose in life. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
Wow. This was one outstanding book. Having to find a dragon, not a regular but a magical one, or one of them dies. Lots of magic and action to make this a worthwhile read.
Sam and Jake were attacked by two lesser while training. They are told that the band on his arm is a bomb. They are to go speak to someone. Turns out this lessor wants the guardians to go find Drasine and bring her back to him. They don't like that as they gave their words the dragons. With no choice but to go do what the guy wants to save Jake's life. They will be tested numerous times in the course of them trying to save Drasine. They will met several lessors that they think could be the Evil One. Sam is being told not to trust anyone. Things are no adding up and are more confusing then ever. It will take everyone to take out the Evil One, but Sam and Jake's life hang in the balance. Will Sam and Jake be able to save Drasine and take out the Evil One or will all be lost.
This is a very good second book to this series. You won't know who the evil one is until the last minute, that action and fast pace of the book you keep in reading.
I this one is fun and I would say based on dialog and style it's really geared towards middle school age readers but would be fine for 3rd grade and up. this series is a mix of mythological and magical creatures with action, mystery and adventure. It starts off pretty quickly in a major action scene and really just continues from there. These are not stand alone books they really need to be read in order. I will say in this book the repeated "miss touchy feely" comments along with the character Uncle Biggy (who has a mix of baby talk and choppy speach) really did irritate me throughout the story. There's a light romance often shown in a very awkward young teen way.
The narrator was okay, just more a personal opinion and some of it could have been more due to Uncle Biggy's dialog and a few of her accents for different characters. Overall, it was a fun read and I would recommend it for the younger readers.
I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.
Jake and Samantha are attacked by a woman who slaps a silver band on Jake’s wrist. The woman tells Samantha that she must find Drasine and take her to the smugglers or the silver band on Jake’s wrist will explode and kill him. They only have a few short hours to find Drasine and then deliver her to the smugglers before Jake is no more.
On their journey to finding Drasine they will face lots of deranged creatures. Some of these creatures are evil but some are good but to be able to know the difference will be very hard. Samantha is told not to trust anyone for this reason. Samantha and Jake face off against numerous monsters along the way.
Guardian, The Quest is filled with fighting and action from the very beginning and will keep the pages turning wanting to know what kind of creature they will be fighting next like a crocle-lion, hyena, dragon, a cheetah lady just to mention a few. I mean wow just the magical beast themselves is enough to keep the pages turning and the excitement racing.
The world building is just fantastically amazing all by itself with all the magical beast and deranged creatures. Reading Guardian, The Quest is like seeing a movie playing out in your head trying to picture all those magical beast and the fighting. I would have to agree with others to see all those magical beast, the characters and their staffs on the big screen would be so awesome.
If you like fantasy with lots of magical beast and lots of fighting then you are going to love Guardian, The Quest.
Once again Jake and Samantha are on a quest to save someone. Jake and Samantha are forced to save Drasine, a golden dragon with healing powers who was kidnapped. All believe that the Evil One has her. But that might not be the case. And Drasine might not want to be found. Loyalties will be tested, and friends and enemies are not always what they seem. Jake has a time bomb ticking on his wrist and they only have several days to complete their mission. I absolutely love the mystical creatures Jake and Samantha meet along the way on their mission. These creatures are intelligent, beautiful, and powerful. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I received a free review copy of the book for a honest review. This book was fast paced as Samantha and Jake race against the clock to save Jake. A slave bracelet was put on Jake forcing them to find and free Drasine, the golden dragon who breathes golden fire that heals and strengthens powers. They need to find her and figure out who to trust and stop the Evil one from getting Drasine. I really enjoyed this book and love the characters. I can’t wait for the next book.
Sam and Jake are on a mission, find a golden dragon and bring her to the smugglers or the bomb on Jake's wrist will explode and kill him. In this search, Sam and Jake meet a giant ancient one, fight the Lost, and try to help the demented (those who came from their home world without the benefit of the healing water found there). Fast paced action, lots of twists, with a great plot and characters make this a must read for fantasy lovers!
Geoffrey Saign has done it again with another riveting and magical tale! It is compelling, exciting and fantastical. We join Sam and Jake once again on a magical quest to save the lives of many. I cant wait for the next book, hopefully will be out very soon!! I would also love to see this on the big screen!!!
This was a very good book, with characters Sam and Jake. It has an interesting story with a magical staff, and a cute guy, how can you go wrong. Its a must read for fantasy lovers. So glad I got the 1st 2 books at the same time cuz I couldn't put them down.
The story continues love this story. The story leaves you wanting the next book. Well Worth a credit.
There is no corse language. Violence does not going to gory details. No sex scenes. It a story teen who love fantasies would probably enjoy this one.
Narrated by: Sarah Lucero The narrator does a wonderful job and really suits the book. She brings the characters alive with their own individual unique voice.
I just love this story. Wanting for the next Book.
