Escape to Witch’s Forge, a magical town tucked deep in the heart of Tennessee’s Smoky Mountains. Only Witch’s Forge isn’t a supernatural paradise—here spells backfire, kudzu bites and magic is broken.
Charming’s adventures in Witch’s Forge continue. When a mummy dig comes to town, it isn’t long before someone is murdered and the mummy becomes the primary suspect. Did the mummy do it? Find out!
Hey, I’m Amy, I write books for folks who crave laugh-out-loud paranormal mysteries. I help bring humor into readers’ lives. I’ve got a Pharm D in pharmacy, a BA in Creative Writing and a Masters in Life. And when I’m not writing or chasing around two small children (one of which is four going on thirteen), I can be found antique shopping for a great deal, getting my roots touched up (because that’s an every four week job) and figuring out when I can get back to Disney World. If you’re dying to know more about my wacky life, here are three things you don’t know about me. —In college I spent a semester at Marvel Comics working in the X-Men office. —I worked at Carnegie Hall. —I grew up in a barbecue restaurant—literally. My parents owned one. If you want to reach out to me—and I love to hear from readers—you can email me at amyboylesauthor@gmail.com. Happy reading!
Each book just ends up drawing me in and I can’t help but just want more each time. I think that Amy Boyles has done an incredible job with this series as she seems to have grasped what readers want in books, and I have to say she didn’t let me down with this one. In fact I’m just hoping that she plans to do more with this series as I feel as if it’s only just gotten started, plus I’m loving Thorne and Charming’s relationship. This book there’s loads of things that are going on, plus now that Charming has embraced all four elements she is quite powerful, the only issue is that she’s not fully trained in the elements so she’s essentially winging it. The relationship between Charming and her mom is interesting but I do like the fact that her mom isn’t putting down her magic anymore. There wasn’t anything I could fault when it came to this book, the only thing I do want is more, but hopefully Amy is planning more books or she’s writing them. I would highly recommend giving this series a read as it’s quite captivating and I know that I was hooked from the very first page of the first book.
Charming is enjoying life, she’s still in Witch’s Forge to complete her job of matching everyone in the town, but for now she’s taking a break as the Mayor of Witch’s Forge has got a new way to attract visitors there….. A pyramid exhibit…. Everything seems normalish as it can be… for now. When Charming and Thorne are asked to take a look at the mummy and it’s relic that’s part of the exhibition Charming can’t help but think something is a miss, so when it becomes apart that her late dad had been researching things that were to do with the exhibit, Charming and her family are opening up a door to the past that they’re not sure if their ready for…. Will Charming find out what happened with her dad all those years ago? What happens when Thorne’s dad is called to Witch’s Forge?? And how will things progress with Thorne and Charming, are they set to be together or will this push them over the edge???
Another story with Charming, the matchmaker. Her relationship with Thorne, the vampire, is really neat, especially how they have this get angry with each other thing going on which you can tell is them trying to avoid dealing with their actual feelings for each other.
There's an archaeological thing going on in the town with a pyramid that houses the mummy of Ramses the 12th. Something found there involves the relationship between witches and vampires which is not good at the best of times but could become much, much worse due to what appears to be on the object.
Complications arise with people being killed and the mummy seeming to come to life. Then there's the matter of Pig seeming to have matchmaking abilities of its own. Another major factor in the story is the relationship between Thorne and his father, one that includes his own father threatening (in the past) to kill Thorne.
There's a lot going on in this story but it all hangs together quite well. Another good book in the series.
This is another fun read from Amy Boyles! Charming and Thorne are cautiously trying to navigate their fledgling relationship while dealing with murder, strained family relations (his), and nutty family members (hers). Add a mummy on a rampage, dark revelations that link the current murder to the attack on Charming and her father, whatever nonsense Pig and Eugene are up to, and the usual search for poor desperate Kimberly's match and this tale is nonstop action from start to finish! I strongly recommend reading this BEFORE reading Book Two in the "Lost Southern Magic" limited crossover series; there are spoilers in the crossover, so I already know what happened to Charming and her father and whodunit (Bummer!). Lovers of fun paranormal cozies will enjoy following all of Amy Boyles' series.
Absolutely fabulous. If you loved the films about mummy's retuning to life you will love this. However this one not only has magic but vamparic powers. Death and mayhem ensue whilst the she and her family try to help capture the mummy. Then there's the added wrinkle of vampires coming to stay and the reason why her father was killed. Fast action, a couple of murders, a pig with match making powers and a family reunited. However are they going to be strong enough to take down the first vampire. A vampire who has vast power, a thirst for murder and an ankh that corals him but only inside his pyramid.
This is the last book in the series but the characters will cross over into book 2 of another series called Lost Southern Magic. This book was lively and entertaining.
An Egyptian pyramid arrives in Witch’s Forge, there’s even a mummy inside! Yet this pyramid holds ancient secrets that are not supposed to come to light, knowledge that could change the way witches and vampires see each other in the world.
So when the lead archaeologist is murdered and the mummy disappears, starts to try to figure out this murder and how the pyramid relates to her late father's academic studies and Thorne's family.
Good plot and definitely not easy to find out who was the murderer.
The writing was good. This book just seemed a little bit loose. Like it was being pulled together. It dragged on. I didn't really have any feelings for it. Pigs little thing took away from Charming to me. Also, felt like what was the point? If the pig can do what it did then Charming didn't need to find love for people. Pig could magic everything together. Thorne is losing me. He seemed like there was no connection to him. Sadly this was boring. I do hope it picks up.
This series keeps getting more and more interesting. I enjoy the dynamics of this group of characters and how they are evolving. This book has mummy come to town and it leads to some revels about Charming's father as well as Thorne's father. Throughout the book you will see how this plays out. The murders and the mummy are all involved but so is Rose's pet pig. Pig has some surprises in store for you to find out about. Very good read.
Witches Forge is a unique town, full of very different paranormals that make for a great series. Charming is the match maker but it doesn’t always work out the way it should. Thorne is her boyfriend but he’s not a humorous type and they are pretty new in the relationship, so I look forward to where it goes from here.
Another great read from AB. I love the characters and the twist and turns. I love the romance without going into sexual details. Most of all I like good endings and the hint of the next mystery. Good easy fun reading. Nothing heavy just enjoyable
Families are reunited and danger increases. Charming makes decisions that put her romance in jeopardy. Secrets are unraveled as new intrigue comes to town. The mayor, who really needs to relax, once again brings new danger to town. The story unfolds and explains details of Charming's initial attacks. I loved this book and the relationships that have grown.
In this book by Amy Boyles, Charming calls Thorne's dad to help with a mummy. Thorne is mad at his dad. I loved reading this book and can't wait to read more books by Amy. Charming also finds out more about her father's death at the hands of a vampire. This was an amazing read
Egyptian mummies meets elemental witches meets vampire lords in this hilarious cozy mystery. This one had a lot of references to The Mummy movie, and some scary times as well, but as with all cozies, things worked out in the end.
I loved this one asuch as the first 3 in the series, and I'm looking forward to seeing these characters cross over with Pepper and Axel in Magnolia Cove.
This is a fun storyline about a matchmaker /witch in a paranormal town. The characters are well developed and likeable. The conversations flow naturally and the plot moves at a good pace. Looking forward to more.
This series is definitely heating up. Looking forward to seeing Charming and Thorne hit Magnolia Cove next :) plus I'm relieved her mother is now a fully redeemed character who is adding to the story and enriching the plot.
O....M.....G!!! I think this is the best of the series. I love seeing Charming and Thorne together. Such a great mystery with more mystery mixed in. You are left of the precipice wanting to know where Charming and Thorne go from here. I’m not going to make till another on comes out!!!!
A Pyramid with a Vampire Mummy, a pig that matches people together ❤. And the mystery of who murdered Charming's father and why. Secrets and lies. I enjoyed reading this book it did make me laugh.
And glows!! What a read! Charming and Thorne are moving together nicely. Rose and Pig are their sweet, ornery selves and there are a few new characters you will love as well! Next there will be a cross-over we will just have to wait for. Can't wait!!
This series just keeps getting better. I cannot edit for the crossover I feel is coming. This book set it up so nicely and having all those alpha men and women working together is going to be a great read.
A mummy and a pyramid come to town. A display that comes to live when the mummy's treasure is stolen. They need the help of. Thorne's father to solve the problem.
This book was a little different from the others in the series. There were some things I really liked and some not as much. I don't want to say any more because of spoilers though. Overall, it was good, not her best, but pretty good.
You can't put this book down! A pyramid, a mummy, murders, so much going on...can they save the town? Oh, and don't forget about Pig....she is a hero!!!
Never thought I would like a series so much and I waiting for the next book. During this Corona lock in this has been refreshing entertainment for me. Keep on writing.
