He didn't want to be a Para. But she just might make it worth it.
In a world where paranormals live side by side with humans, everybody knows about Ordinance 7304: the Bond Laws. Or, as the Paras snidely whisper to each other, the Claws Clause—a long and detailed set of laws that bonded couples must obey if they want their union to be recognized. Because it wasn’t already damn near impossible to find a fated mate in the first place. Now the government just has to get involved…

Jessica Lynch loves to write! She's been writing ever since she was a child, and spent years writing fan fiction before deciding at the end of 2017 to begin focusing on her original works of fiction. A 14-time winner of NaNoWriMo, Jessica has tons of manuscripts waiting to be formed and shaped and introduced to the world -- plus countless more milling around in her brain. She just wishes she could type fast enough to get them all out!
When she's not writing or working, she's either reading, playing with her family of cats in Central New Jersey, rooting for her beloved Mets, or working on her graphic arts skills to bring her characters and cover art to life.
Adam Wright, a former Grayson PD corporal, hates what he has become. But until he can get revenge on the vampire clan that made him a Nightwalker, he would postpone his walk in the sun while he mercilessly killed any Nightwalker who killed a human. On the night he was attacked, he had seen an enchanted dagger that became a sword put to use. When he survived, just barely, and was discharged from the hospital, he made sure to take the weapon from the evidence box. With the crime being paranormal in nature, the police didn’t particularly care about the dagger since they would not investigate the crime. But Adam realized its importance to him as its enchantment pointed out by a color-coded glow whether a person was a Para or not, as well as helping him assess the danger level of the threat. Rafe Silverson was his primary target now, the one who ripped out his throat. And in the meantime, he would take out as many others as he could. Adam would kill, but only those who justly deserved it. The red glow of his sword identified the man-eaters, those who were in blood-lust and would drain a human.
Shea Moonshadow was the witch who had made sure Adam survived, even though he had to do so as a Nightwalker. She was kind and he considered her his friend, actually forgiving her for his survival. Her brother, Hunter, worked for the blood bank and purchased blood bags for him. He had never and would never take blood from a vein!
Tabitha Winslow is a Nightwalker hunter, distantly related to the Van Helsing clan. Her assignment here in Grayson is to find out why the kills of rogue Nightstalkers are so high lately. She has noticed the brooding blond Nightstalker who seems to be doing her job, and she is intrigued! She didn’t realize that the handsome Nightstalker had checked her out too. He had been celibate for 3 years before losing his humanity, waiting for his girlfriend to recover. Now no one had interested him, until he saw the blonde beauty at the scene of his latest killing. Assuming the over-the-top reaction to her was bloodlust, he ran away from her. But she was staying on his mind! As he walked to Hudson’s house to get a blood bag, his sixth sense told him someone was following him and had been for the past half hour. He lost the tail, but as he stopped for a synthetic blood smoothie to hold off the hunger until he met Hudson, he smelled blood. His dagger glowed red, a man-eater in bloodlust, and he found a huge male taunting his victim in the alley – it was the blonde he couldn’t get off his mind, cowering against the wall. And she saw him race forward with a slayer’s blade in his hand! He also seemed to know how to use it, even the magic that gave him more information about the para. Despite all the blood she had spilled to lure the other vamp to her, this one had iron control and totally ignored it. She had to figure this out – so she didn’t try to kill him. And then he walked her home to keep her safe! When he couldn’t hold back, he bit her – and she let him! Then he left. What was happening to them?
I really loved this book. The entire tone as you read it pulls the reader into the story. There is so much detail as we get Adam and Tabby’s story, but it’s done so well that it never overwhelms the reader. The characters are great, both the good and bad made real to the reader. There is so much feeling in the telling. That’s why Adam and Tabby start to truly matter to the reader. If you love the supernatural, this book will meet your every need! The twists and turns that you won’t see coming will keep your full attention!
“Sunglasses at Night”, the third full-length book in the Claws Clause Series, focuses on the story of Adam Wright and Tabitha Winslow, who meet briefly in “Rogue” the previous novella in the series.
Adam the Nightwalker whose dry cynical reflections on himself are hilarious in extreme and Tabitha, the seasonal hunter, with pedigree that goes all the way back to the Van Helsing clan (yes “those” Van Helsing) should be the most unlikely love pairing in (vampire) history, which makes the story all the more enjoyable as the self-loathing Adam, who is just one step away from leaving it all behind in the broad sunlight finds Tabitha and with her a new interest in his new “after-human” life.
Tabitha, loyal to her calling, keeps slaying Nightwalker night after night, and blending with the crowd every new day. Nightwalkers may be out of the coffin 😉 for half a century, but slayers keep working in the shadows faithful to the motto “the only good Nightwalker is….” until this new Nightwalker keeps showing up in her hunts and belies everything she trust.
Adam’s and Tabitha’s assignments are to hunt each other…. and that is what they do, just …not exactly the way they would have expected to in the very first place 😊.
True to her own original style Jessica Lynch mixes paranormal romance and non-stop action with hearty doses of dry humor. It’s a fast-paced book, fill up with action, intrigue and twisted banter, with a generous dosage of adult romance and can be read as a stand-alone story.

Fantastic job Jessica, thanks for sharing this bad boy with us.
This one is my favorite of the series so far! The writing has improved, and the characters don’t keep making idiot choices; well, mostly. Entertaining and fun story! I’d recommend reading the 2 full books before this one for the full story; this book features many characters from the previous books, but this one does feature a different main couple.
Adam used to hate paranormals when he was human, but now that he’s been turned into a vampire, he’s having to adapt. He is still very much looking for a cure though, and revenge against the vamp that tried to kill him. When he meets Slayer, Tabby, there’s this attraction between them, but it’s not really a thing for vamps and slayers to get together for obvious reasons. Loved the connection and passion between them! Throw in some dangerous vamps and witches, and these two are having a tough time of it. Love how kick butt Tabby is! She’s a little too much about sex on the brain, but love that she’s a smart lady! It’s great to see Adam redeem his jerk attitude from the previous books! Love his strong and protective nature! Enjoyed the whole book! Looking forward to the next book!! Love the ghost premise!!
Third in the series and FINALLY a woman of action, equal to the male in strength and purpose. Finally a male who pulls back his insane "fated mates" possessiveness, so she can actually do things like - I don't know - leave the ROOM and/or TOUCHING another male without someone dying!!!
The series plot continues, and we have a fairly good group battle.
The actions creating the couple's mid-story breakup, actually makes sense. Usually the mid-story breakup is a teenage emotional spat worthy of middle-school; this time, though, it is a natural outcome from the story and who the characters are. It is really well-done.
Another well-done thing: changing the reader's feelings about Adam. In book one, he was a total jerk. Book two, he starts coming around. Book three, he is a worthy gray-hat romantic hero and perfect foil for the slayer. Bravo Ms. Lynch.
(Read through the Ordinance 7304 collection - Claws Clause books 1-3)
Adam doesn’t take well to dying and well, not dying. Each step to adjust to being a Nightwalker feels like another step away from his humanity. But rather than walk into the sun, Adam has given himself one job, to track down the Nightwalker who took his life. But then he falls into a purpose, killing Nightwalkers who kill their human victims. And one of those so-called victims, well, she intrigues him.
Tabby is a slayer. Perky, petite, kick ass Buffy style slayer. And she doesn’t know what to make of Adam. Her job was to find the source of the Nightwalker deaths, and now that she found him, well, the slayer rulebook didn’t cover Nightwalkers who were doing her job. Nightwalkers who are able to use a magicked slayer sword.
Though Maddox remains aloof, it’s nice to see Adam getting along with Colton, Shea, and Evangeline.
Because we already knew who Adam was, and what he did to keep Mad and Ang apart, it was a trip to see this new side of him. He changed, not just into a nightwalker, but also grew into a better man and mate.
Tabitha/Tabby was not your typical slayer. She was silly, light on her toes, and quick with a quip. I think we all see us in her, and she is relatable with her struggles.
This was a great read. I have read all in the Claws Claus series and look forward to reading the next one about our grumpy old ghost!
I never liked Adam he knew Maddox and Angie was ment to be together but he wanted her for himself they was childhood friends and he hated paras. He gets a wake call when he works with cole and then goes off rogue to get Julian (see other book Coles story) sadly her gets turned into a night vamp. This book is his journey learning how hard it is to live in a human world being a para plus he finds his mate only she is like buffy.
Another wonderful addition to the Claws Clause! Adam and Tabitha's story's addition is just icing to the cake! Who would've thought that you'd get a Para to hook up with the metaphorical boogieman? The growing love between these two as it unfolds causes my heart to ache for them.
I love this read. If you love the supernatural, this is definitely one that is a fantastic read, with a great storyline, that captured my attention from the start to the finish. There's twists and turns that I didn't see coming. And the book cover is fantastic as well. I definitely recommend this read. Shauna Joesten
This is a really good book. You wouldn't think that a slayer might have a soft spot for her target, would you. The target one handsome ex-cop turned vampire against his will is killing rogue vampires without a license. This book is excellent. I love the characters. I would highly recommend it.

Allow two days for this NC17 installment of Claws Clause with Adam Wright who plans to take his revenge on Rafe Silverson and then step into the sunlight to end his unwanted existence as a Nightwalker. This COULD be read as a stand-alone, but I suggest binge reading the series for fuller enjoyment. I had an ARC and this voluntary review is my own opinion.
He was turned against his will and now he wants revenge. She acts normal but she is a Hunter of vampires and get when she meets him, she is torn. She wants to kiss him but she needs to kill him as a slayer. What will she do? Will she kill him? Will she let him go? See how they get on

Had this book as a recommendation. I enjoyed it. I loved Adam and the supporting characters. Tabby on the other hand was a little annoying. Aside from her... I enjoyed the story and the plot. I always love a new take on things. Over all a great read and I'll have to go back and check out others in the series.
I had a great time with this book. The characters held my attention from the first page to the last. The characters are well developed and engaging and have plenty of chemistry.

I am an Honest ARC reviewer, This is definitely not a PG book..Actually some parts are XXX rated, The overall story line is awesome,The Character building is great,And there was tons of action. Battle's ,and Magic make it complete.
I am seriously loving this book and the series so far! I enjoy the fact that characters are included in each story and, although not a real cliffhanger, we are given hints of what is coming in the next tale. (The lost 1/2 point is for several typos.)
Stubborn Adam meets an even more stubborn Tabby. I love how they came together. I was surprised at the self-control Adam had after that first time. This was a good one about working together as a team.
Keep reading the series. This was the best flow yet. Definitely getting into the groove of the stories and the characters. I really liked this one. On to the next!
