A very precise and super engaging book, yet so informative.
I've been studying the era of uthman r.a (in history of islam) and there occured so many incidents which helped clear out and get into the depth of this book.
The thing is that, when Prophet (peace and blessings be upon Him) talks about sects in the numbers of 70s, it doesn't seep down until you get into the depth of it.
The scary transition of generations, and how devil can turn a human being into such a pathetic existence that you personify God, objectify the pious companions and make prohibition entitled to a mere pleasure enticement.
The moment of "new fear unlocked", was when i studied about kharijites. I'm like, the description of hypocrites, the types of hypocrites.. the hardened heart, the blind eyes.... And, the buzz of bees? The recitation of quran so loud, organised and beautiful? The judgement only belongs to Allah? The staunch character of defending quran and standing upright to Allah's words? Yet, being the most stupidest of all, That you cut open a mother womb?
I've come across it and fear the horrors of illiteracy in practicing my religion, the illiteracy of practicing yes! The knowledge of right and wrong, the surface level implementation of an ayah and failing at the responsibility of taking care of my religion. The responsibility of the image of my religion, which can get corrupt with a mere stubbornness of raising my finger with an intellectual judgement towards things and not the patient self of a serene minded human.
I love the gentleman of my religion, the character of Alee, of umer (radhiallahu anhuma),the essence of fearlessness, the rationality in their lives, the way of dealing with skeptical beings... there's no end!
Ah! And the flow of this book!
