FALLEN ANGELS is a follow-on series from the bestselling FALLEN IMMORTALS series. It contains sexy hot angels of light—and shadow.
First of all, the cover is all wrong. I can't stand it when the publisher or author or editor can't even be bothered to make sure the cover is consistent with the damn story!
The angel Tajael has short WHITE BLOND hair! The cover model does not look that way at all. And honestly doesn't have the build of an angeling, as described in the book.
I'm a stickler for these things. Covers drive me crazy!
Second, the whole "I can't succumb to lust" thing grows wearisome. And honestly, I want more emotion and attraction in a book than just the woman seeing him for the first time as a "greek god" and being completely gaga for his body and face. She's like a genius and that's all she sees.
Gave this a go because I wanted to try the first of a PNR series that was fairly new, and not just new to me. Though some characters appear in her previous "Fallen Immortals" series, I never found myself lost or confused and may actually go back to read these characters' books.
The story has an interesting premise--sexy angeling (not quite full angel, but has wings and magick-type abilities) is tasked to protect a human scientist who may or may not figure out extra-dimensional travel, like what his kind (and others) use to zip from this plane to that.
Our guardian angeling, Tajael, is a sweetie. Yes, he's a powerful immortal, but he's also adorably naive. Charlotte is heckin intelligent and eventually succeeds in taking the first steps to travel beyond the earthly plane. (It felt as is it should've been more difficult/required more sophisticated equipment, but our heroine's super smart so you kind of have to let the specifics slide.)
I do wish the MCs met earlier on, as much of the two of them "together" was him watching over her when she didn't even know he was there. Then once they do meet, Taj keeps his distance physically for fear of losing himself to Lust and becoming a shadow angel, as opposed to one of the light. Much of the first two thirds was Charlotte working on her research and machine, with Taj occasionally saving her from baddies of all forms. I just don't know that their chemistry clicked with me.
But this book did hold my interest and I enjoyed reading it. It may have been a higher-starred read if the final bits had more oomph to them, particularly
After reading the previous series with the Dragons of the House of Smoke, I was concerned that this new series might struggle to match the pace and intrigue but I should have known better! As usual for this skilled author, the great paranormal characters, suspense, twists, turns and steamy romance are all there in abundance - together with some of the stars of the previous series! However, don't take that to mean you can't appreciate this story without having read the other stories, I believe this works well as a standalone but may well tempt you to delve into the earlier books, too. It does have content of an adult nature, so is recommended only for over eighteen year olds.
The Guardian angels are angels of light who have the role of protecting key humans and, in this story, that role isn't without its own temptations! Falling in lust with the person you're supposed to be protecting is a certain recipe for no longer being an angel of the light, something our hero, Tajael, is determined to remain after previous experience of the Dark. However Charlotte, the scientist he's protecting, is so appealing to him - and the attraction is mutual - that temptation looms large alongside the danger that threatens her existence as the Fae endeavour to prevent her research achieving its goal of proving the existence of the different realms. Will they succumb to emir attraction? Will love find a way for them or will the Fae win? You'll just have to read it yourself to discover what happens in this fast paced paranormal romantic suspense!
I was gifted a copy of this book, without obligation and this is my honest review after choosing to read it.

FALLEN ANGELS is a follow-on series from the bestselling FALLEN IMMORTALS series. It contains sexy hot angels of light—and shadow—and only readers over 18 should dip into the sinfully delicious world of the Fallen Angels series.
What a wonderful book, beautifully written, characters you love and others not so much. It's about a brilliant scientist and an Angeling sent to watch over and protect her. I love the Angeling Tajaels character he's so sweet and totally committed to watching over Charlotte. I can't say much, I don't want to give anything away but this is a must read, excellent book.
OMG this series is rocking it all the way to heaven! We all have them watching out for us, but can you imagine, what can I say, but WoW!
Dr. Charlotte Netherman is convinced she has discovered the schematics to travel to the other dimension, she has no idea how true, so true that they have sent a guardian to watch over her. Her very own angeling that is slowly falling for her, but does not want to fall into the shadow by having lustful thoughts. When she is saved from sure rape and sees her knight in shining armor she can't sleep without dream fantasising about her neighbor.
Light Angeling Tajael is torn between loving, but falling from the light and not being able to guard Charlotte anymore and that is not acceptable for he could not bear the thought of another guarding his sweet Charlotte. When danger arises and Charlotte is put in danger will his desire to stay in the light override his love?
This book kept me at the edge of my seat (temptation) and what a finale!
Ms. Woods has hit gold with this new series and I have only read the first book, I would give it a 10 if I could.
Title: Tajael Series: Fallen Angels Book #1 Release Date: #AlreadyReleased Author: Alisa Woods Reviewer: Ingrid Stephanie Jordan Serial: Standalone, No Cliffhanger #PRN #Angeling My Rating: #4Stars☆☆☆☆ •••••••••••• Ms. Alisa is continuing the "Fallen Immortals" with this new series "Fallen Angels" Definitely a Must Read. •••••••••••• Tajael is an Angel of the Light, being a mixture of part Human and part Angel. He's also a Protector Class Angeling he was sent to be a Guardian to Charlotte Brennan aka: Char is a Scientist in Seattle, she has her Ph.D from MIT, she want to discover the mysteries of the universe. But Tajael started to have feelings for Charlotte, his mantra is " I must not fall" A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.
Tajael is an angeling with a difficult assignment to protect Charlotte, a brilliant physicist working on a theory to transport objects to a new unknown to humans dimension. He finds her pure heart and goodness hard to resist as he protects her.
Her work moves toward success, his attraction growns and he fears that lust will take him to the shadows. This unique situation makes a very romantic love story full of danger and rescue. Charlotte finds a man (angeling) that she can trust and give her love to while working to find a solution to her theory. Tajael finds love not lust and a way to give the woman he loves pleasure while keeping the shadows out of his life for now.
This is a story about half angels and how they are given guardian duty. I found some things in this story about angels offensive. This is probably me and my view of heaven. This author takes her idea of heaven to a whole new level or should I say dimension. Not one character in this book was someone I would want to associated with or identify with. This is a fail for me. I'm adding a star for creativity and a well written plot.
I love that so many series reference happenings in another series just enough to intrigue you but not enough to confuse you. This book is just as good as all the others by this author. One of my favorites and a must read!
Half human, half angel Tajael is tasked to be guardian to a scientist who is trying to breach the barrier of heaven. Can he save her without falling to darkness when he finds himself sorely tempted by her?
Charlotte is a physicist working on a theory that objects can be moved from one dimension to another. Most people she knew did not believe such a thing could exist. But her boss did, and he and the money to fund the research, and he had faith in Charlotte.
Charlotte's fellow scientist was less than thrilled by her presence, perhaps because a) she was a woman, b) she was a woman who wouldn't give him the time of day ... or night, and c) the boss like her ideas better than his.
But, surprise the other dimension(s) is/are real. And not everyone on the other side is thrilled with humans (specifically Charlotte) being able to travel between dimensions, something which had hitherto been reserved for immortals and other supernatural beings. Like the Fae, who were allied with dark angels, vampires and werewolves. On the other side, where Angels and Dragons.
Small wonder, then, that a Guardian Angel (Tajael) was sent to protect Charlotte. She was like this light that was shining like crazy with goodness, and naturally dark creatures are going to think, "Hmmm...THAT can't be good!" (No pun intended, but it is kind of funny.) There is a scene in the Winter Court of the Fae containing incestuous sex, and sexual assault Those situations are not triggers for me, but I still thought, "Ewwww!"
Other than that, I enjoyed the first 75% of the book immensely. Kudos to Ms. Woods for having a MC as a brilliant female physicist. (Won't it be nice, though, when it's so commonplace that we don't get all excited about it anymore?)
But, Tajael (angeling - half angel, half human), has a problem. He, like all angels, is attracted to Charlotte's light and goodness. And, having spent some time in the dark realms, he struggled increasingly with the sin of Lust.
Just after the third successful trial of Charlotte's machine - nick-named SEXi-MRI by her boss, the dark forces popped up in great numbers. Luckily, there was a fairly equal contingent of angels and angelings trying to protect Charlotte and her experiment. But the day was not a complete success. Charlotte was kidnapped by the Fae and the machine was destroyed.
Having realized that Tajael's boss wanted them to mate (to produce more warriors for the light), once Tajael and his 'team' rescued Charlotte and they were back in this world, said couple threw caution to the wind. Once they started having sex, I didn't think they were ever going to stop. Apparently, angels are rather quick to recover. I just prefer my romances with a little more sugar and a little less spice.
Other than that, like I said, I enjoyed the story, and would recommend the book, with the reservations for possible triggers and graphic sexual content.
Tajael is the first book in the Fallen Angels series, a follow on to the Fallen Immortals series. This can be read as a standalone, but to get a full grasp of the concept behind the war in the immortal realm, it would be beneficial to read the previous series.
Tajael is an angeling of light. Half angel and half human. He is a guardian and protector of the humankind. Falling for a human could send him into the shadows with the angels of the dark.
Charlotte is a brilliant scientist, working on a project to explore the viability of the existence of other dimensions. If only she knew!
Tajael is tasked with being Charlotte's guardian angel whilst she works on her experiments. Experiments which could benefit humankind and immortals, if successful. She is unaware of Tajael's presence until he comes to her rescue in the guise of a human security guard. After her ordeals with her ex husband, she is wary of men and that's not the case with Tajael. He is quite drawn to her, but is afraid of being carried away by lust and thrown into the shadows. Should this happen, he would be unable to protect Charlotte and that's something he would rather avoid. Being near her is better than having someone else guarding her.
The faes and shadow angels are still intent on destroying humankind, using other supernatural beings to their advantage. The demonic epidemy keeps spreading. Charlotte becomes a target and when her life is in danger, Tajael throws all cautions to the wind. Can he save her and realise his dream or will he end up on the wrong side?
This is a good introduction to the Fallen Angels series. The pace is slower than in the previous series, but doesn't lack in action and sex. It's a great concept with the blend of science and the supernatural.
If you think this series won't have the sexual tension of the Fallen Imoortals because we've moved from dragons to angels (angelings, too!), then you couldn't be more wrong. You see, that was my fear when I started this one. I was so used to (and completely immersed in) all that the yummy Princes of the House of Smoke had given us to enjoy, that I was afraid that this one might be more tame. I was wrong. Thank the heavens! I love that we kept the connection so close with the mention of our dragons and their mates as part of this story. Tajael is a wonderful angeling. He isn't warrior class, though, and that seems to be what Markos has in store for him. He is sent to watch over his charge, Charlotte, at a very important time in her life and career. If watching from afar makes him even more voyeouristic, bring it on! He has never known the feelings he is having and they are worrysome to say the least. He is so in fear of falling, again. His time in the Shadowrealm is evidenced on his skin with the tattoos he wears. I loved how human Tajael was in this. He was absolutely adorable when he was trying to pop in and out to stay undetected as not really her neighbor. It was great fun! I loved the decisions he was faced with and how he took them in stride, until he didn't. This ramped up the tension for me and went from awesome to dang hot! I am so looking forward to every one of these books. I relished in my enjoyment of many of Alisa's other stories, too, so I know I will be rewarded with fantastic reads.
I have read all of Alisa's books and loved them all including this one. This is the start of the Fallen Angel series which follows after the House of Smoke dragon series. Tajael is assigned to be a guardian angel to Charlotte. She is a scientist who is trying to figure out how to get to the third dimension. She believes that the current earth that she dwells on is in shadow to a higher dimension. She finally runs an experiment and a warning sound goes through the other dimension like it did when the treaty was renewed between the dragons and fae. Of course the bad guys come to interfere, including the Winter Court fae, vampires and shadow angels. During all of this time Tajael spends watching over her he starts to fall in love with her. He takes human form sometimes to help her when the bad guys come against her. He tries not to get too close because he doesn't want to fall into shadow. Markos is pushing his agenda and makes Tajael stay with her in order to get more angelings for the light. We get a HEA but you need to read this book to get all the gritty details.
He is slowly falling for her but he can't be tempted he does not want to fall into shadow again
Charlotte brilliant scientist Tajael an angel who has to be guardian over, but Markos the Angel leader has other things on his mind, Erelah had a child with a dragon and didn't fall into shadow because of their love for each other now Markos wants an army of new baby angels to build up his strength to ward off the shadow angels and vampires that are threatening humanity. Charlottes experiments are going along excellently, Jerry one of her co- workers wants not only things to go his way in the lab but he wants her too and thinks he will have her one way or another including rape if need be. Tajael rescues her but in doing so has shown himself to her. There is a lot of excitement in this story as well as the hot sex. Tajael has to save her from the fae King Ramasay with the help of Razael and one of is shadows Asa. You need to read this story for yourself. Recommend book, I'm off to read the next one Oriel enjoy
Thoughts: I love this spin-off series so far. I had some idea what to expect as far as the love between the characters but the journey to get there was well worth the read. Charlotte was a great character, I loved her personality. She reminded me of me in some ways so when the story ended it was losing a piece of me. And I totally call dibs on Tajael, but know that he will raise your expectations for a book boyfriend! His patience and control seemed to have no end, along with his passion. And even if you haven’t read the other series, you can start this one and you won’t be lost. I’m looking forward to reading the next one!
Please note that I received a complimentary copy of this work and chose to write a review.
I found the beginning slow and I admit to nearly giving up. I know there needed a fair bit of world-building but felt it could have been done better. Once the pace oicked up I found the story easier to follow. I haven’t read the other books by this author and it is easy to follow as a stand-alone. There were a few instances where the tense changed and thoughts, which should have stayed as thoughts, were turned into narrative. He chemistry was between the couple but when they do finally have ax and he doesn’t fall, it’s not explained clearly why. The suggestions that Marko wanted an army were their, but would they have considered having a baby knownig Marko might have planned it all? All in all, it’s a decent read but I feel there are still a few plot holes n regard to why Tajeal didn’t fall. The whole book seemed to be based around how he couldn’t risk loving Charlotte, but when he did nothing happened.
Tajael (Fallen Angels 1) Incredible FIVEV STAR read!
Alisa Woods does it again! Tajael (Fallen Angels 1) is a fast moving, hot love story. Demons and vampire are swarming over Seattle trying to stop human scientists from making a world changing discovery. The dark fae of the Winter Court are causing havoc. Tajael and the angelings of the Guardian class are desperately trying to protect these scientists any and all evil.
Charlotte is a physicist and is on the verge of changing the mortal and immortal worlds. When she meets her incredibly hot neighbor, her life is irrevocably changed forever. She is beautiful, super smart and has a soul that shines brightly. I highly recommend this book and all of the series written by Alisa Woods. She is a master storyteller, she will make you believe!
What a beautiful story! From the start to the end, intrigue, action, constant interest kept the story moving. Tajael is an angeling and fears the Fall. Being half shadow angel and human, Tajael is tasked with protecting a very brilliant physicist, Dr Charlotte Netherman. Charlotte has a theory regarding inter-dimensional transport and her boss Daxon is a billionaire willing to allow her to explore her theories. No one really expected her science experiment to work but the unseen battle between the shadow angels and the light angels are fierce. Fearing the Fall due to Lust, Wrath or another Sin; Tajael would do anything to protect Charlotte even if his fear comes true.
This author is fantastic at writing sexual tension, this book has loads of it. You don’t need to read the Fallen Imortal first series to enjoy this even though it’s a branch off of that series. I don’t think a reader will feel lost reading this as a stand-alone book. To be honest, the first half of this book was not a speed read for me, I felt it was really hard to get into. The second half definitely made up for the first half. There were some parts of the plot that didn’t mesh for me & some parts that went over my head (the physics detail stuff was not interesting to me at all since I didn’t understand or get). This does end with an HEA for Tajael.
Just my personal opinion but I highly recommend reading the prevailing series to get the entire gist of the war between the fae, immortals and humans. The connection would be clearer if you have the whole story. I am just very, very happy that I have the whole story so there was nothing holding me back from completely enjoying the read to the fullest.
Charlotte had me from the beginning of meeting her. I was not the only one. Tajael felt more than he dare share. He was already close to the shadow. The pacing, action, drama, and romance has a very good beginning. I am so exciting getting to know Tajael and Charlotte.
Tajael is given the task of guarding Charlotte, a Doctor of Physics. Charlotte has hypothesized that there is one other dimension than the one in which we live. She plans to access it by using a certain vibration in an MRI machine. Her boss, an eccentric billionaire has named it the SExI MRI! But what will happen in the other dimension if she succeeds? It's strange and I liked this book but, when I think back, not a lot was resolved! We've also been through a lot of the same questions and drama before in Erelah's story. It was easy to read and any Alisa Woods' fans will love it.
This first book sets the stage for the whole new series. There are references to the dragons, some history about how the fae have infected the vampires and the impact that has on the human population. But the bulk of the story is still on Tajel and Charolette and how they bond. At times I've wanted to slap Marcus up side the head but I wanted to do that in the other series too, so that's just how it goes. It will be very interesting to see what the world looks like when the author is done.
I received an ARC of this story and have chose to voluntarily review it here.
Charlotte is exceptionally smart and kind hearted. Tajael is sent to be her guardian angel, but along the way he falls in love with her and for him that is torture because he can't have her. Expertly written with great action scenes and drama. It's impossible to put down once you start reading it. It can be read as a stand alone, but I do recommend the series Fallen Immortals as Tajael is featured throughout it and it provides a lot of backstory for the Fallen Angels story. I volunteered to read this story.
I loved this one. Like many of her books, this was a love story with lots of action, good vs evil battles and of course hot sex. As Tajael fights his lust each day he falls more and more in love with the human he's supposed to be guarding. She loves him in return and their love grows until it's consuming them both. In the meantime, she's a scientist who has discovered a way to transport object to other dimensions. Her successful experiments act as a warning beacon for the Winter Court fae who abduct her, forcing Tajael to enlist the help of the shadow angelings to rescue her.
I was super confused by this book not in the overall plot line but with the world building. Too much was left out for the background for me to actually make sense of the world the author was trying to create. Not sure if I needed to read a prequel to actually get what the author meant for the angels world (rules, hierarchy, what the factions are etc) not likely to continue the series. Will say only the last two chapters were hot!
