In Vegas, there was one man who was off-limits. Dario Capece. Gorgeous. Powerful. Untouchable. Of all men to fall for, he was the worse.
I knew there were risks, but I couldn’t stay away. When Dario Capece called, I answered. When he touched me, I moved closer. When he broke all of my rules, I pretended not to notice.
I knew there were risks in falling for him. I just didn't realize those risks included death.
*This is a compilation of the Even Money and Double Down duet. This complete series includes Rolling the Dice, a spin-off novella.*
Alessandra Torre (AR Torre) is an award-winning New York Times bestselling author of twenty-seven romance and suspense novels. In addition to writing, she is the creator of Alessandra Torre Ink - an online community of over 40,000 published and aspiring authors.
A riveting suspenseful thriller you’ll have trouble putting down.
Once again, author Alessandra Torre has created another suspenseful masterwork with twists and turns, mixed with madness and the obsession for total control, that will have you feverishly flipping pages until the very end.
This series has a great story-line, a fantastic plot, is fast-paced, flawlessly well-written, chilling, exciting and compelling. The connection and chemistry between Dario and Bell is palpable. In addition, the rest of the characters were likeable, amusing and clever.
The All In series has it all, the right amount of humor, angst, tears, action and steamy passionate scenes. I greatly enjoyed and highly recommend it!
**Received a copy of All In in exchange for an honest review.**
WOW oh WOW did this book blow me away. I was so sucked into this book's suspense that I found myself up until 3am reading.
All In take place in Vegas. Dario Capece is the head man of Vegas. He owns casinos and hotels and what he wants he pretty much gets. This is all until he meets Bell Hartley who is a cocktail waitress at the one casino, The House, that isn't willing to become another Capece acquisition, both The House and Bell. Bell is dead set on not caving to Dario but sometimes chemistry is just too much to ignore. What happens to Dario and Bell when both of these 2 break all of their rules they have so carefully put into place to protect themselves?
R.E.A.D to find out!! You won't be disappointed. You will be on the edge of your seat with the suspense and sweating the next with how hot some of the scene are.
I’m struck dumb! Not just by the impressive cliffie but by the magistral writing that I just read. This book had one great development of a plot, a love story, and a suspense that had me biting my nails.
Dario Capece is a big man in Vegas. He owns the Majestic hotel and several casinos around it, and he and his wife Gwen are a driving force in the glittering world of Vegas. Until one day he went sniffing around this small casino, very successful and exclusive, looking for an opportunity to invest, and found his destiny instead, in a young waitress.
Bell has it good. After a harrowing experience in her teen years, and a poor upbringing in a trailer camp, she’s now working with two great guys, with great working conditions and great pay, and she also has time, opportunity and money to pursue a college career. She doesn’t need to meet a big honcho with deep pockets, dangerous reputation, sensual vibe, and married, to burst into her life and send all her senses tingling like mad. They can’t resist their chemistry, and yet their situation is incredibly complicated, with a lot of high stakes and danger from unknown sources.
The plot moves inexorably forward, and these two play a game of one step forward, two steps back. Bell realizes the danger to her heart if she falls in love with this man, yet he’s so vulnerable and true with her. Dario is stuck between the woman he loves and the woman he swore to protect. I loved, loved how Dario and Bell fell slowly and reluctantly in love. I loved Dario’s openness and loyalty, and loved Bell’s kind and innocent manner, even with her upbringing. Dario’s and Bell’s love affair is not welcome in Dario’s world and someone is getting angry; the suspense that comes from a psycho mind starts early and goes on crescendo as the book develops.
Her two bosses and friends, Lance and Mick, were cute nerds, successful little fish in a big pond. Loved their big brother interactions with Bell, and their protectiveness. The book is written in two POV’s, Bell’s in first person and Dario’s in third person. In the beginning it was a little confusing but turned out to be a neat trick. This book was captivating and addictive! Can’t wait for next installment!
DOUBLE DOWN
In this second book of the duet, Bell and Dario are already a couple, but what makes this book riveting is that they get more involved, more passionate about each other, as they deal with the aftermath of Gwen’s murder. As events occur and their union comes into danger, Dario becomes more devoted than ever to keep Bell safe.
After the murder of Gwen, Dario takes several drastic steps to protect Bell from the authorities and from his father-in-law’s wrath. He’s convinced that the proposed victim was Bell and the murderer killed Gwen by mistake because they are similar in appearance and Gwen was in Bell’s suite. He’s also convinced that his father-in-law is responsible for the actions against Bell.
There’s a real huge production of police and FBI agents, all working together to capture Gwen’s murderer. There’s a psycho killer on the loose and Dario is convinced that they may go after Bell, so he utilizes all his resources to protect her.
The action started a little slowly and mostly dealt with sorrow and guilt. As events develop, the suspense ratches up and the danger to Bell climbs up. Bell and Dario deal all through the book with the guilt that their love affair caused Gwen’s loss. Dario has to deal with the loss of his best friend, a woman he swore to protect; and now he has to protect the woman he loves from an unknown danger. Bell hovers between her typical independent spirit, and her desire to bow to Dario’s need to protect her.
This book was riveting from start to finish. I liked that it started slow and then picked up speed and suspense until I was literally biting my nails and reading. There’s a surprise at the end that didn’t make me so very happy. I felt it was inconclusive and left some plot lines open, unless there’s more related books in the future, in which case I will be a happy reader.
Book 0.5 Rolling the Dice There is little that I can actually say that would hide the fact that I loved this, despite the fact I read it after the first two books in the series, it mattered not a single jot! I was stunned at just how much sense and sensuality that the author was able to pack into this short read, that certainly punched high and hard. The passion between the two of them was hot and heavy, the fact that there had been an almost love /hate vibe bantering back between the two of them for longer than I would have believed bearable. But there was more going on under the surface than either of them knew or understood and by the time the blinkers were off, and their true feelings became clear I was delirious!
Book One: Even Money In true Alexandra Torre style, this took the moody and mysterious and gave it room to not just breath but flex its sizable muscles…and the result was sensational. Even Money is everything I never knew I needed so far and I am delighted to have not just finished it but to be counting down the days until the next book is released. Set in Vegas, the story is that of Bell, a waitress at one of the city casino’s when she isn’t at college or finding herself knee-deep in all sorts of shady goings-on that she has no idea how to deal with. She may think she is street-savvy but falling for the charms of the sophisticated, suited Dario Capece may not be the smartest move she’s ever likely to make because if there is something untoward or underhand going on the married Mr. Capece is very much up to his neck in it! Packed from first to the last page with more twists and turns than you could possibly shake a stick at or even begin to comprehend, this was dangerous, dark and totally delicious. I found the dynamic between Bella and Dario was scintillating, they set the page alight with both passion and presence. Oh, and if you think you get away without a cliff-hanger of an ending…think again because this one will knock you on your a**.
Book Two: Double Down I could be controversial and say that I didn’t get it, but I would be lying through my teeth because I totally got each and every word of this book and I loved them all. There must be a list of superlatives as long as my arm that I could bring out to try and describe the book but I don’t think that any of them do it justice, this was a fabulous romance that was equally tempered with an awesome element of suspense. The characters we fantastic, they truly spoke to me and I found that I knew not only what I wanted but what I needed for them. There was angst levelled throughout the book that when it was given the opportunity to bubble to the surface, was breath-taking…the drama was edge of the seat stuff and there was no let-up. Dario and Bell brought so much to the page that at times it was more than I could handle and I was left frantically flicking back to see what I had missed…so please pay attention, you need every clue that the author and characters give you. I loved the way Darion cared so deeply for Bell, his focus being all about her and as a powerful and very wealthy man, he had no hesitation when it came to putting her before everything else in his life…but when danger came a calling, could he keep her safe? I would live the opportunity to revisit not just Dario and Bell but also a few of the other prominent characters that I think I might not have quite finished with so I have everything crossed that the author may give them all a reprieve…I can wish, can’t I??
Alessandra Torre's new release, ALL IN, follows Bell, a cocktail waitress at an exclusive high roller casino in Vegas and Dario, the high powered owner of The Majestic Casino. Dario, despite being married (one of convenience vs love), falls for the damaged Bell and their affair sets off a series of dangerous events.
As you can tell, if you have a problem with cheating this is not the book for you. Dario and his wife, Gwen, are very open with each other regarding their affairs (yes, Gwen has lovers as well). They married to protect Gwen from her father, a nefarious billionaire with zero scruples. Dario is a straight-forward character, an alpha male who dragged himself up from the streets using his brains and cunning. He is transparent in who he is and what he wants. From the getgo, you find out that Bell is carrying around a childhood trauma which left her with a fear of intimacy, treating men as a pleasant distraction and commitment like the plague. That Dario is able to get beneath her facade is a testament to the chemistry between the two, which is off the charts. Gwen is the wild card as her role in the story doesn't seem to be much beyond the smart but detached wife of the hero.
All In is a good long read with little downtime starting with the courtship between Dario and Bell then moving to Robert Hawk (Gwen's father) rearing his ugly and violent head. Torre took the dirty underworld of Vegas and the rich and pitted it against her two leads, taking them from sexy sensual scenes to ones of murder, kidnapping, and degradation. Vegas for all its glitz and glamour that covers the sordid and underhanded is portrayed well, though I did have to laugh at a "good night" for Bell tip-wise being $300. Having worked in Vegas for years, $3000 is more accurate for where Bell worked.
If you are in the mood for a tale of machinations, good versus evil, heartbreak, and triumph, All In is a good choice.
All In by Alessandra Torre is the compilation of Even Money and Double Down, even The All In duet.
Even Money is the first book in the All In Duet by Alessandra Torre. The book ends in a major cliffie and if you don't like them, I recommend to wait till the next installment releases. Bell Hartley is a young woman who enjoys her life. She works a swaitress in a high-end casino in Vegas, has great friends, life is good. Til he shows up. Dario Capece, tycoon and owner of a casino empire. He's the uncrowned King of Vegas, his word is law. It takes him one look at Bell and he's a goner. Hook, line and sinker. The only obstacle, he's a married man. He is set in his ways and the new toy that's dangling before his nose is a attraction, he can't witstand. But she becomes more pretty quick. Bell and Dario have a lot of ups and downs. He's all in, she's hesistant. Even Money is a captivating story, masterfully crafted, a wonderful read that had me at the edge of my seat from page one till the end.
After reading Even Money I couldn't wait to get my hands on Double Down. I had to know what happens to Dario and Bell. The story picks up where the previous book was left off. Dario and Bell managed to escape their enemies. They're still alive and outwitted them. Double Down is a fast paced, unputdownable, read cover to cover in one sitting read, a fantastic suspence romance and the fitting conclusion to Dario and Bell's epic love story. 5 stars.
This duet has an alfa male, a strong independent woman, it’s filled with loads of romance, has suspense and delivered all the feels. There wasn’t anything not to like about it. I thought it was a novel way the way the author not only gave us Dario and Bell’s viewpoints but also let us get into the headspace of the ‘baddies’ by also having their viewpoints. I’ve not come across that before and really enjoyed it. Although it has left me with unanswered questions.
Bell works at an underground club as a waitress in Vegas, when one evening non other than Dario, one of the biggest sharks of them all walks into the club. They have an instant attraction to each other, but he’s married and as far as Bell is concerned off limits. Dario convinces Bell to give him a try and when they do get together, there’s loads of action and swoon worthy romance.
I am so pleased I got the duet version of this series as the first book ends with a massive cliffhanger. This way I was able to dive straight into the next book. Thoroughly enjoyed this duet.
Very rarely do I NOT finish a book. It got to a point where I was so disappointed in the plot where I had to stop. How many people had to die for them to be together? Too many. I couldn’t get past Nick dying right after Gwen. Bell and Dario essentially ruined Gwen and Nick’s lives. If I kept reading, I could have discovered details about G/N that made them less likable, however I was too upset that Bell is going to get a happy ending and not sure she deserves it.
I absolutely love Alessandra's books, which are quite spicy and have an interesting plotline.
I was captivated by Dario, a casino owner, who had a complicated life and fell in love with Bell who worked at another casino and studied part-time. We don't know later that an enemy is in their midst as Dario and Bell begin their relationship, culminating in death, hide-outs, and deception. It gets even more complicated due to Dario's marriage. I couldn't put the book down as the stakes get higher and Dario and Bell risk it all. So well worth the read.
This book has everything! A great plot, steamy scenes, rich alpha male, twists/turns and murder! *GASP! I was on the edge of my seat the entire time. I just had to know what was going to happen next. I loved these characters. Dario was loyal. He did what he could to protect the ones that he loved..
You can aLways rely on Alessandro Torre for a well written story. I’d been in a reading slump with too many DNFs to talk about so I turned to this book as I knew I could rely on !s Torre for a good book. It did not disappoint. And, just to say, nice little sexy novella bonus!
Definitely recommend this series. I’ve loved reading all about Dario & Bell and their complicated relationship. The struggles to be together and that Dario will stop at nothing to have her. Obviously there are blocks along the way but that makes the book even better
I almost DNF. I scrolled thru the last 30% of the book. It just didn’t keep my attention after SOMEONE(not saying who because it shocked me)died. I would have rather have it go done the first story line of a love triangle, then having the murder mystery hoopla.
A great set includes Even Money & Double Down which is Dario & Bell’s full story. Dario owns half of Vegas & Bell is a waitress who has flings. They can’t resist one another. There also includes a short but steamy novella about Stephanie & Tripp.
Great duet...loved the characters and the story was very different. Dario meets Bell and falls. Neither have been in live before and when they discover that wascwhat this was it changes many things in their lives. Bell has a horrific past and Dario has a wife.
Even Money – 4 stars Double Down – 3 stars - I found it completely out of character for Dario to allow Claudia to live after what she did to Bell. Rolling the Dice – 3 stars Total - 3 1/3 stars
