Betrayals!! A young rag tag group of outcasts turn into protectors and saviors in a supernatural world. And, so another female leads a male to his doom and disaster just like a siren in the sea! I was so disappointed in her, and I don't care why!!! NO!! Two are left behind, a father is lost and found, and more questions than answers exist. What next? A return mission and more danger ahead...

Overall a very good story.

Could have used a little more detail in places, but i think that’s due to the difference In my reading level vs the targeted audience.

I personally love dragons, and so this book was one I've been excited about for a while. Anything featuring a dragon is gonna get a "yes please" from me off the bat, however keeping my interest after the initial excitement is another thing.

This story did that.

I really loved the characters and the world built here, and the relationship between the main character and the dragon was sweet, funny and imaginative.

I actually breezed through this lovely, quirky novel in a weekend and would recommend it especially for middle grade readers who love fantasy, action but also a story with heart.

I can't wait to read the next installment!

The setting is initially in the 1950s, until you get to the dragon. Then suddenly all bets are off and time and space begin to warp like Silly Putty under the onslaught of magics sweeping Jimmy and the other characters from one world to the next. This is YA of a very high caliber and I await the next developments there, wherever there may end up.
